  • The scariest thing about bats is a world without them and white-nose syndrome (WNS) is a huge threat to North America's bats. The fungus has spread across the U.S. and Canada, killing 9 out of 10 little brown bats, northern long-eared bats, and tricolored bats. Twelve North American bat species are known to be susceptible to white-nose syndrome when they hibernate during winter. Learn more about WNS and how BCI is working to help bats survive it with Dr. Tina Cheng, Director of WNS Research. Learn more at stateofthebats.org.

Thank you, Dr. Cheng, this was great. And your baby in the bat suit is adorable!

As a recent Bat Con "member," I decided to get better educated on WNS. I'm now way smarter after only an hour watching this post ... and your magazine and emails really help as well. Thanks for keeping information like this up for all of us to watch.
