I learned this on one of my trips. It was going to be a damp and rainy day tomorrow. So the day before i had decided to just drive home and call my trip done. The next day as im packing my gear into my car I pause and look around at the West Virginia mountains around me. Immediately i was struck as the mist rolled down the hollows like rivers and collected in the small creek valleys. It was then i decided to continue on to my final few spots. There i captured some of the most beautiful fog filled forest scapes. They were dark and mysterious. I ended up soaked to the bone from the on and off rain, but damn was it worth it.

Loved the drone footage ! brilliant action shots of the coast guard it gives a sense of scale and just shows how we are just mere mortals ! loved your use of the sea pinks to give a bit of colour ! indeed a beautiful place !!

Both are very good but I think Bernards is a better composition as the tree sits nicely into the back ground.

Very good advice Darren there's no doubt you definitely need good clothing when you're outdoors. I've started wearing hi tec boots and find them very good

Hi Darren, Love all the boat pictures especially the long exposures. I have no real right to make a judgement on the trees as you are both far more competent photographers than me. However you said you would be interested in any thoughts, so from someone who's just learning composition from you and others I'll give it a go. I think I preferred the final look of your composition, but might have preferred Bernards if he was a bit lower and had slightly more separation between the tree and hedge. Would that have still worked? Looking forward to behind the raw as always.

Darren, Another great video! While I was watching the boat segment I was looking at all of the different tones in your scene and thought wow the could look fantastic in Black and White. I look forward to more of your content.

Nice locations indeed - I've taken a wee break ... My drone crashed awaiting a replacement gps module .. Given all my camera gear a deep clean. Not so clean as I thought. Setup a few new settings be interesting to try them out, in a few weeks! I hear Tramore ... A calling !!

Well Darren, Bernard‘s better I think . 😉 But yours good, too. Would have been better with less stones in the ground, Tree has to be larger (taller). And the mountain should be completely viewable in the photo. Maybe panaroma two times portrait.

I really like the long-exposure boat image at 10:14, except for one thing: that expanse of sand. I suggest you crop half of the sand out; then the image will be truly spectacular.

I lost my DJI wireless mic and have been trying the Røde Wireless Go II, but can't get the Pocket 3 to recognise that it is connected. I am using the DJI 3.5mm jack adaptor and the coiled Røde TRRS cable.

I got tempted by the proliferation of magnet filters that have come to the market in recent years and bought these Kase filters about 9 months ago. Whilst I like the convenience of the magnet and stackable ND's I've not been impressed with the performance of the CPL in this kit. It just doesn't polarise anywhere near as well as my previous screw-in B+W Kaseman CPL which I used for years. I also find rotating the magnetic CPL just awkward compared to the traditional rotating mounts. It's also flimsy, and I put mine in a pocket temporarily on a shoot recently, sat down and unfortunately it cracked and splintered. Not sure whether to replace it or go back replace it with the traditional screw-in type.

Enjoyed that Darren some lovely shots and footage, what a shame there's no access to get an angle on shooting the lighthouse. Great bonus that the Coastguard turned up shows some great scale! Well done!
