Been doing this since learning it from Expert Card Technique as s teenager. It's even more effective from the front, because your hands provide shade for the jogged packets. I got a bit obsessed with making the jogs smaller and smaller, but it's actually better to just do it sloppily. Do a push-through riffle shuffle first, stripping the cards with exactly the same motion as the cut sequence, and perhaps a false in-the-hands riffle shuffle including a bridge - so everyone sees the cards going together - and that's about as good as it gets. I don't even bother trying to control a slug these days, because preserving the full order every time is easy enough with practice. The magician and card mechanic, Daniel Madison, said in one of his videos that he always keeps the full order of the deck regardless of whether he needs to do so.

The real magic is learning something that seems impossible. I amazed myself so hard my head is hurting. I have 0 experience in magic or slight of hand and when i first tried it, it seemed impossible and painful. But after this and pandrea's video (and 30 min of trying) i'm doing this move within a couple of tries. Sometimes i dont catch it or i shoot multiple cards, but it's there. I love this, but i need a break now.

This may seem like a silly question, but I’m naturally right handed yet I do a lot of things left handed (I do the usual overhand shuffle left handed, I clap left hand (trust me, it’s a thing). So which hand should be natural for this. Are you left handed?

I'd probably come up a way to mix this with letting the spectator pick the card, then put it on the bottom and perform this. Or make it more mysterious and not put it in the bottom, promise that you'll put it on the bottom, control it to second to last, maybe show the spectator the bottom and be disappointed that it's not their card, continue to deal "the bottom" and tell them it has turned into their card. It would also be fun to show them the random card first but deal their card, then perform "the magic" on the deck and show that in fact their card has disappeared from the deck, and show that it was on the table all along. There's quite a lot of options to combine it into a very mysterious rollercoaster of emotions it seems like. Very practical.
