An old gem of a trick. It's a clever take on the classic plot where the magician appears to be failing miserably, but then recovers in a surprising fashion at the end.

Man I’m so glad you’re back
Here's a trick that makes great use of the move I taught in last week's video. Hope you like it!
Like it.. I’ll be awake all night with this
Hi Asad, please do more tricks from Royal Road, it’s such a classic text of card magic and it’s great to see the demonstrations of the tricks. 👏🏽
Bro i started watching u as a kid and know I’m 22. I now have adult money so I can buy ur cards :D
Wow ur weird
No he’s not, I wish my parents would let me buy cards other than bycycles
Dang, man, I wish
This trick is in the royal road to card magic under the glide section. I love this trick and I perform it very often!
Absolutely love this! Magician in trouble is my favorite plot. Thanks for the great tutorial!
this would be a good trick to that spectator who wants the magician to mess up
Yes, exactly
Very cool effect, I already knew a variation of this trick and it always worked fine for me. Reactions to a trick like this are always great. Good job, sir!
Thanks so much for the performance. I read the Royal Road to card magic and took many routines from it but completely forgot about this one. Also, i love using the glide for other tricks but never thought about using it as a force. Thanks.
With your return comes the return of my love of close-up card magic. Thank you!
This is such an amazing use for the glide! Amazing tutorial Asad 😄
Asad your setup look fire bro!! Love that simplicity
I love this trick, have been performing it for over 40 years, in that time I have had so much fun with it, I have added a couple of subtleties to help sell it more and to misdirect those that watch very closely.
Love the Trick... waiting to see more!!
Great use of the glide. Very nice tutorial.😊👏👍
Pretty awesome! I'm ready for your videos!😎👍
Early to the show! I enjoy magic like this because it makes them feel like you’re in their head. I usually don’t like packet tricks but this is a fun one.
Great trick! Welcome back! 👏
Just want to say that I LOVE the new card mat!
Great trick, ill be using it for sure!!
Welcome back! I can’t wait to perform this next Friday. The world’s slowly coming back together.
Nice and simple trick. I love the mint cards I use it for performance for its elegance and quality. Good to have you back. Thanks for the videos.
Great tutorial!
Cool. When I do this effect I like to glide their card and use it(the next card) as a pointer card , then replace it back on the face of the deck without them seeing it the proceed as you did. I believe this to give a stronger effect of look I took your card off of the bottom and am even using it as a pointer card. Either way works fine good work as always.
Amazing tutorial and thanks for sharing.
Really nice trick Asad. I do love the double bluff type tricks.
I've always thought the glide as it's explained in royal road is so awkward, love your handling of it here! It seems like there might be a way to improve this trick by doing everything on the top of the deck instead of the bottom with some clever second d's.
I’m reading the royal road now to learn some cars magic and this is a fantastic demonstration of that trick. Thank you!
That was excellent & you made it look so easy with your lucid explanation👌👍
That is Brilliant!! I love it.
Wonderful trick and tutorial asad xxx
Woa ! That's Amazing tricks, I should learn it, right now, thanks for share that, Bro
i remember watching u years ago & u did videos with disturb reality :)))
Yup, that is good, the messing it up part makes them feel maybe a little smug and then Boom.
Messing up tricks are always gold.
Cool closeup mat. :D
Wicked! Reaaally clever.. thx for sharing 🙏🏼❤️ peace from Switzerland 🇨🇭👏🏻
That's a great trick, many thanks! Btw your voice is ASMR-proof!
Yoooo Another great video for sure!
WOOOT!!!! HE"S BACK
Vera Nice and easy! Thanks
my master is back
Love that your videos are building on each other. Hope to be able to collab with you one day!
Great trick, especially since it takes advantage of your previous video!
Do you think the effect would be stronger or weaker (or equivalent) if instead of directly revealing the selected card, we would instead:
1. put the card face down
2. lay the n-1 cards and the rest of the deck face up and ask to confirm that the selection is not there
3. turn over the original three cards and ask for the same confirmation
4. finally reveal that the nth card was the selection
A learned a slightly different version of this trick from Scam School. Even though it’s a simple trick, it’s always been one of my favorites, mainly because the patter can be very fun and allows me to razz the audience member when I say they didn’t cut to their card
Link to the Scam School vid?
Loved it 💕💕💕
This was the first card trick I learned after reading RRTGM chapter 4 back in 1960. I've used this trick with great success to all kinds of audiences. By the way Royal Road has some great tricks between it's covers!
*its
hey man youre back
Like your presentation. A bit different from the Royal Road yet similar. It is one of my favorite tricks from Royal Road.
So instead of dealing cards from the bottom, I do a quick shuffle maintaining the bottom card and dealing normally until the number, I would just bottom deal that number
In this instance, second dealing would be better. It would allow you to fairly and slowly deal the final card, which is the one that matters most as it's the card the spectator is paying the most attention to.
@@taylorhaws6402 I still show off the cards at the bottom and take those cards from the bottom, I'm just strictly talking about counting the cards
That's a nice one man! Could possibly use a false shuffle/cut before you split in 3, just to prove its more lost in my opinion but definitely good for a bar and you got a tough audience 👌🏻
You said leave a comment, so thanks for the video 👏
Thanks
Why did you ever leave! Amazing performance, will surely perform.
Great
your voice is soo satisfying
I saw a version of this from Brian Brushwood. The way he does the glide though feels a bit more awkward for me. This version feels a but more natural.
Best channel
This trick gets amazing reactions
Hey brother, I do this trick myself I call it ” Poker Face " I tell the spectator that it's my job to try to find your card, I take their card and cut it to the bottom of the deck. I tell the spectators to cut to 3 different piles to see if you can cut to your card after you cut the 3 piles I'll show you what you cut too. the part that I tell them to answer " yes, that's my card " no matter what the card is you answer " yes, that's my card even if it's not your card you still answer " yes, that's my card. " If it is your card you try to keep a poker face its up to me to find your card. I want to hear your tone of your voice like voice DNA. I show all 3 cards and ask her name the card and they answer " yes, that's my card " when you show the last card I do the glide also. Then I tell them since you didn't cut to your card I need you to pick a number between 1 & 10 what ever number you pick that's how many cards I'm going to count and at that number it will be your card.
When I get to there card I ask what was your card when they tell me I act surprised and look at the cards that are on the table face down and ask are you sure as they say that I answer OK just wanted to be sure turn the card over and show them their card. At that point they will turn over the card on the table they eill swear that they saw you put it on the table.
Love from Bangladesh 💗💓💞💕💘💝💖
Im nervous, gonna bust this out for a couple friends tomorrow, fingers crossed as my cull isnt where I want it yet speed wise but gotta try
Well how'd it go?
Be great if you could bring back the red and black mints. Be nice to be able to purchase the full “set”. Also, a border less option again be nice. White?
coming back
Great trick! Btw is this from the royal road?
Love from Kerala
Gostei da performance
Hi, nice video but please make a video on how to spring cards with only one hand (throw cards upside down and catch on the same hand).
Super
WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
I took my deck to practice this card trick, and guess what?? The card chosen was 3 of clubs!!
Thanks for the video. I think it would help for future tutorials if you performed the trick once to a bystander/or even just pretending without any explanation of the trick so we could see it in action without any pauses. Then go into the tutorial. just my 2 cents. thanks for sharing!
Can you make a tutorial on the one handed card pop out of the deck ?
This is "the traveling card" by Juan Tamariz.
Only Real gamer Wake up in the Afternoon ❤️❤️
SMOoooth
you could totally pinky clip the selected card at the same time you do the glide
Any idea of why "Designed for laughter"? Where does the name come from
Brad Christian has this trick on tape in the older ellusionist videos.great trick indeed
Asad this may not be related to the video but I need your help. How can I be good at the classic pass with small hands? I just can't get my hand to cover the top packet. for some reason i can't to the pass when I have my hand on the right side of the packet where it needs to cover, so I can only cover it on the left, leaving the packet exposed. I also can't do it fast enough. people tell me to just do the herman pass (which I can only do the turnover variation of) but I want to learn the classic pass because i think it looks much better and is a better move. Pls help!!
I plan on making a new super in-depth video on the pass which will cover a bunch of tips and hopefully helps you out!
@@52kards yayyyy thx a lot
How awesome would this routine be if they turn over the 3 cards and it's the other 3 suits of the face of their selection. Like in this case if they were 3 of spades, diamonds and hearts.
There is probably a way to do that
😜👍Oh ya this 1 is sweet, thanks man. Really great to see ya back on the CZcamsz✌️😎
Make a tutorial for Clip Shift
Please explain the 2 card pushover again
here at 37 likes, being this early is sick
where we watch a handful of slights,
seeing his obscurely trick
❤❤❤❤❤
For the setup I think it's better to say - going to show you some cards that definitely aren't yours, better reinforcing that you have no idea which card they selected. Needs a false shuffle before the cards are cut.
You need to explain its the 7th card from bottom. As lay people would assume you would count from top
HELLO ASAD
i really like your beard
Hi 👍
Me first 👍
اسعد من وين انت ؟؟
Can any serious card guy/gal answer this...with mechanic's grip do you HAVE to hold a deck in your left hand and use your right hand to deal? Everywhere I read/watch it's always instructed to hold a deck in your left hand, but I am much more comfortable/dexterous with my right hand and I assume most sleights/business is done with the decked hand (in most cases)...Thanks!
Do you know were is yherussun gienus
Bro this is an insane trick to get a phone number or a drink
Haven't been this early in a while.
Instead of choosing a number, we could do an Hindu shuffle and they can tell to stop when they want
hii
Look who I found 😬
@@KTricksteryMagician lolllll
What I like to do is to after I have executed the glide I do a clipshift to bring the chosen card to the top and then do second deal
That'd be nice. But the clipshift is like super hard bro lol
When you realise messing up just to set yourself to succeed is a jojo reference
Second :)
1st!
not really
First!
