Trans Virtual Choir - "Love is Love is Love is Love" - Seattle Voice Lab
"Love is Love is Love is Love", performed by the Seattle Voice Lab Trans Virtual Choir. Music by Abbie Bentinis.
For this year's Pride, we at SVL wanted to celebrate the amazing achievements of our online voice community of over 5000 students and users by organizing a virtual choir! We had over 70 members sign up from a wide range of singing experience and instructed them to pick their own octaves and parts for this round. The result is a heartfelt showcase of trans and queer voices in their journey towards authentic self-expression.
We would like to thank all of our community members for making this amazing feat possible and for lending their voices to this project. We would also like to thank our singing instructor Taylor Clarke for conducting the round and to our graduate Arin Walker for mixing and mastering. Happy Pride month, we hope to do this again soon!

anytime I'm trying to use my authentic voice, I can't... maybe this video gives me a better understanding
how do you actually speak with the higher larynx tongue placement? i can do it now, but it makes my mouth space quite small, and speaking with the tongue in that position for more than a few words is not really possible.
What is a vocal fry
I’m going to speech/voice therapy and even though I’m improving it gets discouraging. And it’s my fault because I have fear and shame of someone being an Ahole, even though I live in NY. I have to work on being braver. And I have a really soft voice as it is. I’m gonna study your videos. 😊
i lowkey sound like a old car engine
Brilliant voices
What a joy this was! Glad to have helped and participated ☺
y'all did amazing! this must've been a really cool and encouraging experience for everyone that participated.
So beautiful!
Jesus loves you
Lovely voices!!!
Hello. I'm a He vocalist. In December 2023, I was doing extreme and incorrect training exercises for a high larynx, and I think I moved the position of my hyoid bone. I've had MT and also neck, jaw and even sternum discomfort since it happened. It all just doesn't feel right. Do you think a few sessions with you might be able to help me?
❤
Why would I want to sound like a man when God made me a beautiful woman.😂
I just wanna do this so I can troll🤭
Sounds really true. Im scared people are going to look at me like what's wrong with you...😢
You're voice is perfect. I'd love to sound similar to you.
Not true I'm older but want a higher brighter voice.
thank you so much!❤
What is ‘T’?
She literally has an Adams 🍎
Beautiful throat
Thanks. It's mine.
Even your man voice sounds like sis female
You sound great! You sound like sis female
Bro I still can't do it
yeah no i'd rather get insulted about my voice then actually doing this
Tell me about it 🥲 it’s not like trans people have existed since the dawn of time and will continue existing despite any laws made against us
Yo what if I just lower my larynx will it get accustomed to that position or will I hurt myself
It will get used to it, just don't force it down. It shouldn't hurt. Avoid "pressing" it down. Small changes lead to big changes over time!
I just discovered this channel! What a wealth of knowledge. As a "involuntary" singer in a band as well, vocal training is something I should be doing anyways. Two questions: 1) Over time - will the feminised voice become the "default" for my body, or is it always something I have to consciously do? (I suppose the way to phrase it is that will this actually permanently affect me, or would I after say 5-10 years be able to speak in my current "male" voice? 2) How (if at all) will this affect my singing voice/tone, and does my (very limited) range change?
She is mewing
Just a heads-up, I think your title autocorrected to “Natality” instead of “Nasality”
Trans Men 🤝 Cis Female Gamers ^ Masculinizing their voices
Kris omg you’re so beautiful
I’m not trans but I wanna scare any men that try to hit on me with this voice Edit: Spelling fix
Do you have any videos on the muscle tension dysphonia you mentioned? I might have developed that using bad techniques to alter my voice 😭
I cant do this crap
Now these people are saying that "God made them trans". Yes, God wants them to go through these bizarre voice changing exercises to modify their God-giving voice, God wants them to cut off their healthy body parts off that God gave them, God also wants "trans women" to mutilate their "units", invert it and make a non-functional "neovag" out of a God-giving organ made for reproducing, which is now just an open festering wound. By that logic, God made all the ped*s, murde*ers, r*pists and dr*g addicts. God gives freewill, it's your choice to be a degenerate, but I can assure everyone, God doesn't make degenerates.
if god didn't want people to become trans gender then why did he create people with gender dysphoria? if god is omniscient he would know in advance that some of the people he creates wouldn't be happy as the gender that he created them as and would want to change it. so if god doesn't like people being trans gender, but he creates someone as a man knowing they will want to be a woman instead, why not just create them as a woman?
If God made people blind they shouldn't wear glasses, then, either. If he gave them cancer they should let themselves die instead of fighting it. You raise a good point, actually. We should entirely give up and let whatever happens happens. I'm sure that's the mentality the Bible wanted you to have.
i’m trying so hard😭 but it doesn’t sound good
Oh my god I’m fairly sure I also have chronic post-nasal drip…and getting COVID didn’t help 💀 Are there any tips you have for working with that specifically?
Resonant voice therapy is always a great tool! You can also drain the fluid with a neti-pot and steam the vocal folds with a vocal steamer to make sure that they are well hydrated.
Im now scared of what menacing things im able to do to my voice
Make sure you don't have a cold or respitory issues when you do this. Put myself into a coughing fit.
Best explanation I ever heard ♥
I wanna talk like that yet idk how to do the first part :(
Do a pitch your comfortable with, then just drop it lower and lower until you get that gravelly vocal fry.
To find a pitch you can hum down from a high note to a low note. Then come up a little higher than your lowest note. If you can't make vocal fry then just say "gah" and try to move it back to try to make the sound "gah" sound nice and deep. Then using that deep sound and space, speak one short sentence, like "Hey, whats up?" and slowly add onto that sentence, like a coffee order or something. Small steps, big spaces.
I sound like a dying duck 😭
This is one of the best video if you already have learn the vox fem, only she didnt go deep, but that is the whole thing. When you do the innnnhhh sound your larynx will raise to give you a feminine like voice, thought it sound buzzy, then just try to carefully reduce the buzziness and relax a bit you have a feminine voice. because no one talks about the combination of the getting the buzziness of, nor does anyone emphazise why you need that buzzy sound to learn faster. I learn these things the very hard way. most people are terribly bad at teaching anything esp on the internet. But this little video cover all the tools to get a perfect fem sound. But of course you must pratice like you lost your mind, that is another thing no one tells you.
We appreciate your affirmation that this is a good video! Thank you for that! Speaking to the rest, we find it is best to have a one on one coach, so people can get all of the information that is so hard to come by.
Wooo 😮 ✨🏆✨ but that seems exhausting
There are many factors to consider, this is true. Try breaking it down into steps. Practice one step one week, then another the next. In a month you will be much closer to your goal than you were before!
I think the problem with trying to do quick tutorials like this is that the person giving them always has years of experience that they're trying to condense into something accessible. It just doesn't work because the person giving the lesson doesn't *really* know how they got there, they just found what worked and kept doing it. That's why coaching and/or obsessive practice end up being more useful, because you actually workshop the voice while ignoring the technical stuff.
I don't speak voice actor can someone help me understand wtf she means 😭
Damn that’s impressive
