Mobile vise stand built as HEAVY as possible
I got a old vise from a lady who lived near the workshop. I built a vise stand with it.
I had a hard time deciding what kind of design I wanted.
I decided on "4" design concepts for this video.
1,The shape should be simple.
2,To be a one-day project.
3,Use scrap materials and do not incur costs. (My projects always are)
And
4, The design should be easy to move.
The design of the building was determined as follows.
When the rough build was complete I noticed...
It's so light!
So I decided to fill the tube with something.
Sand, ..no.I don't have it..
Soil, ..rust...?
Then what to do?
As a solution to those
切削粉 (SESSAKU-KO) was put inside the tube.
This is steel Cutting powder, so it is heavy in specific gravity, and I thought it would be a good idea to prevent rust from forming on the tube itself.
It worked, and the vise stand became heavy and stable.
Despite being exposed to the rain, the vise was in relatively good condition, and only required light maintenance to complete.
(I really wanted to put this in a rust-removal bath to get it all shined up, but maybe someday I'll get around to it.)
Thanks for watching the video and I hope you enjoyed it!

It will be a sanding block! -Leftover resin scrap-

On a previous resin project I did, I failed to measure and ended up with a lot of resin left in the cup. It hardened and sat for a while, but this sanding block idea finally hardened. Because I'm recuperating from a broken bone right now and it's time to execute my mini-project. Yes, the time has come! I will share the process of making a super simple floating shelf. This is a side story of what I'm making (currently editing) with scraps of wood from what I'm making. This wood is HIBA, which is a very nice aromatic wood. It is also called aroma wood in Japan and is used for various building materials. I made a simple floating shelf using it. Pallet tips - The Moment of Inspiration #ANTIShorts
zhlédnutí 134Před 2 lety
I share this video because I managed to capture a moment of inspiration. In a project I am currently working on, I needed to slice a log vertically about 150mm in diameter. I attempted to secure it with a metal vise and a long f-clamp, but could not get it to stay in place. I had saved one of my heavy and precious pallets and thought it would hold well, so I put it into practice. The result was...

Thanks for your comment! I appreciate it very much. For some reason you are well aware that sparks often go into your ears!^_^ Do you weld a lot too? I have been working for a welding company that deals with thin steel for 10 years now. I have tried various protective gear and arrived at my current equipment in the video. I have watched many videos over the years about welding in different countries. I live in Asia, which is still a work in progress and the market for PPE seems very weak. Old craftsmen still weld with their left hand holding a protective surface. These are very interesting to me. My grandfather, who is now deceased, was one of them. Yet he was able to perform many jobs perfectly and safely with light equipment. Light equipment, work efficiency, safety. I realized that these values vary from country to country, The journey to find the answers to these questions continues. I respect those who watch and give me advice. I will continue to learn more and study my behavior so that they can watch my videos with peace of mind. Thank you so much!

    • @jp-makes
      @jp-makes Před 2 lety

Thank you! Regarding UV protection, this seems to be related to skin type. We yellow people have a medium percentage of melanin pigmentation and do not need to be too sensitive. (Of course I apply UV cream every day ^_^). Long sleeves and aprons are rather dangerous as they cause machine entrapment and clothing combustion. So in the winter, work wear get torn to shreds very quickly and it is very hard. The video would cause misunderstandings. Thanks for your valuable input!✌️
