@@MainlightDrone Yes sir I get that but wouldn't a tunnel right next to the dam defeat the purpose of the dam? Wouldn't it allow water to flow around the dam into the South pit?

I think the overlook isn't really maintained and probably has safety issues. They probably send an employee out there to replace flags as needed.

Yes, I have been talked to buy cops who don't know the rules. When I made this, it was legal to fly everywhere in Chicago. In some areas you have to get approval which you make through an app. Because I didn't want to be bothered and have to explain things to anyone, I flew from a more out of the way spot. What an interesting comment, Cathy. I can assure you that none of my photos were photoshopped. Why would I do that? There are plenty of other photos on Trip Advisor and other websites of the memorial. The memorial is maintained by the Fogelberg Foundation of Peoria. Friends may have called him Daniel, but he was known as Dan by the rest of the world and it would make sense to call him that on the memorial. Fogelberg passed away on December 16, 2007, after a long fight with prostate cancer which his fans knew about. His death was announced in the New York Times the next day. Azoff's first management client was Champaign-based REO Speedwagon; his second was Dan Fogelberg. In 1972, Azoff moved to Los Angeles with Fogelberg, where he worked for Geffen-Roberts Management. Wikipedia, where I got my information, says his mother was Scottish and his father was Swedish. If you disagree, take it up with them. The article also says that Dan talked about his memories of his father allowing him to "conduct" the Bradley University school band when he was fourteen years old. This was the inspiration to "Leader of the Band." If this was all "delusional nonsense by a man who doesn't know anything and an insult to a creative and talented musician and the Fogelberg family," forgive me. I don't know who you are, Cathy M, or how you would know all of your information which disagrees with everything I found through simple internet searches. I do, however, thank you for taking the time to watch my tribute video. Dan Fogelberg was a very special musician who was taken from us way too young. He is very much missed by the music world.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Jason! There are indeed tunnels under it and Chicago also has tunnels under it but they're different systems. The Deep Tunnel project stores storm water and does a good job of keeping it off of the streets and out of basements. There are 109 miles of tunnels extending from the quarry ranging in width from 9 to 33 feet. These tunnels help the reservoir hold up to 30,000,000 cubic meters of storm water. Hey, Jug, thanks for stopping by. There are a lot of shipwrecks all over the Great Lakes. What's interesting is that since the invasive zebra muscles have been cleaning the water (to the detriment of the fish population) the water is so clear that new shipwrecks have been spotted. I don't think there's much of interest in the St Joe except for historical curiosities about businesses that failed a century and a half ago, dams and mills that got taken out and things like that.
