The Grassy Island Range Lights were built in 1872. Green Bay is known as the "Toilet Paper Capital of the World" because of the prevalence of the paper industry in the city. Green Bay Packaging, U.S. Paper Mills, Georgia Pacific, Neenah Paper, Kimberly-Clark, International Paper, Weyerhaeuser and many more are located in Green Bay.
Interstate 43 crosses the 200-mile-long Fox River, the largest tributary of Lake Michigan. The bridge is called the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge. It's named after local philanthropist Leo Frigo whose family established the Frigo Cheese Corporation. The retired former president of the company died in 2001 from injuries sustained in a car accident while delivering food to a local food bank.
One of Frigo's legacies includes Paul's Pantry, one of the largest food pantry programs in the nation. This non-profit helps feed over 4,000 local families.
Grassy Island Range Lighthouses were restored in 2005 and are now owned by the Green Bay Yachting Club.
