How To Fix A Spreader That Won't Turn - Scotts Edgeguard Spreader Repair
My Scotts Edgeguard Spreader stopped working, specifically the spreader that spins stopped turning, so today I am showing you how I fixed the problem.
You will need a drill, drill bit, bolt and nut.
I want to acknowledge that there are other videos out there that show you a different area that is broken and needs repair, but that was not the same repair needed for me.
I hope this helps.

Appreciate the review!
I know this is an older videos but I’m curious if you e any issues with soft spots in the laminated floor? I’m considering a 2023 model and I’ve heard horror stories about coachmen foam floors getting soft. Thanks!
Negative. Nothing here. No issues with flooring, overall it has been great. I have found a couple of loose fittings on water lines, done some fixture upgrades and tried my best to maintain it. I chose this particular brand and floor model because it fit our family and felt the best quality wise of all the brands. I keep it covered and stay on top of it with preventative maintenance. Just know the quality bar is extremely low in the rv world. If I were to buy another I would check on the roof caulking, all water fittings, and anywhere water touches.
@@luisreviews6412 Awesome! Thanks.
Now show us lifting the car
it will do it as long as your drill is strong
Hey great video! Not sure if anyone's asked but have you had any experience with a tuner on this truck? I'm on the fence about trying one
I didn’t go that route mainly because I was at the tail end of ownership and wanted to keep it clean. Plus I don’t trust those things long term.
Was just listing to my door close very solid. Nice thud.
something is loose inside your door.
Is it still working for you?
I ended up giving it to my MIL as she needed this more than I did. It had continued to work but it certainly was going to be at its tail end of life for the battery. My guess would be to replace the battery.
yea, i never even used mine. I'm charging it now, it's been charging overnight and it has the green light showing. When I unplug it and click the battery status, only 2 lights show smh. Waste of money in my eyes, seems defective. It's been sitting in my garage for years still new in the box. I can't imagine it's end of life already never being used. @@luisreviews6412
What size socket ?
3/4 inch - purchased on Amazon
@@luisreviews6412 strange I tried that one I had seemed a little small
What size did you order them?
Been a while, but from what I recall it was the smaller option. Still using them regularly.
Just replaced my power steering pump and it has a louder noise
I went through 2 or 3 pumps from Autozone that all went bad quickly. Eventually bought an OEM from the dealership and it solved my issue. More money but fixed the problem.
@@luisreviews6412 that’s what I ended up doing I order one on eBay it was pretty cheap and decided to spend the extra cash and went to my dealership

I was hoping for information on the green and red lights and how one knows if it is charged or not.
Yeah - It looks great and I love the coverings of the antennaes, etc, but no way can I climb around up there. Hmmm.
You have to be very careful and know your limits.
Hi, thank you for this video. Nice! I was wondering, how long does it take for the Stanley to charge. Also, I had my sitting without a charge for 6 months. Will it still charge?
It shouldn’t take very long, maybe a couple of hours or less. I have a reminder on my calendar to charge it every few weeks or once a month.
@@luisreviews6412, thank you. Will set reminder to charge it at least every 6 weeks 👍
I loved my Flex a light 292's on my 04 Silverado. They lasted the longest. I replaced them with amazon fan and had trouble after a few years. I did upgrade my Alternator to a 140 amp.
My truck was pretty close to the end of life with me so I did what I could to squeeze some more life out of her until I purchased another. If I planned to have it longer I would have bought the kit with the radiator as well. Radiator seemed much bigger and more efficient.
Buying a 2023 257 Bunkhouse. How’s the camper holding up Luis? Does your Tundra pull it ok? I also will be towing with a Tundra. (2017 with low mileage)
Those two are a great combo. On the Tundra I did add Supersorings to help with sag, however if I could do it again I would have gone for the cheaper option of Helwig helper springs… same results but less money. Also the 257 has been perfect for our family as it accommodates us and with a not so big footprint. It has been good, I keep it covered, do regular maintenance and give it tlc. Tows really well, we go from DFW to NOLA and Big Bend every year… always does well and tows with confidence. Love those newer 257s, I like the light interior and other additions.
Reviewing my first item on my channel and came here to see how the pros review! Took notes! Well done🙌

I just moved down to Arlington and had what I thought was a good cooler until I packed my cooler up with drinks and ice and it didn’t make it half a day lol so now ima have to get either yeti or rtic

I know this is an old video, but I have the same paint* problem on my 09 Silverado. I take good care of my paint* too. They must have a bad white color or something.
Agreed, but I believe it was the clear coat they were using at the time.
Every GM vehicle painted white will sooner or later have paint peeling issues. The last white one I had would lose paint in sheets going down the road. Adhesion between the paint and primer is weak and the paint tends to develop cracks that allow water penetration causing the paint to flake off. The only fix is to strip the vehicle and repaint with a quality compatible product. This has been a problem for years and GM refuses to address the issue.
Just got an 8th gen Accord, only issue I have is driver seat comfort, any fixes?
More padding
Beast of a sedan and one of the most beautiful design ever. Still looks relevant after 16 years later. Keeping the one I have forever.

These spreaders might be junk...i get it.......but proper cleaning and lubrication goes along way...requires disassembly.....just cleaning the thing with a garden hose is what causes most of the corrosion of the cheap axle shaft......
Maintenance… yes, but still a flawed design in my opinion.
Had the same problem with my Express van with the 350 in it towing. Had to put a duramax fan blade on it to keep it cool towing in Texas heat.
106 today, that will put some stress on the cooling system.
I added a 3,000 cfm Flexalite 16" fan behind the radiator, between the radiator and clutch fan and it is controlled by the LS P59 PCM running the 350. I built bracketd and bolted it rigidly in place to prevent it from damaging the radiator or coming loose and getting sucked into the mechanical fan. PCM turns the electric on with a/c or engine temp below 50 mph. I used a 2007 Trailblazer electric fan clutch. My first setup turned the electric fan on with Fan1 output and powered the fan clutch on Fan 2. I have since added full PWM control to the fan clutch, using the 2003-2004 LM4 5.3L Trailblazer fan settings and wiring diagram.
@@luisreviews6412 Mine got a work out yesterday. Air going into the grille was 113°F. In really hot weather my 383 will hold 220°F even working hard. It has a 195°F thermostat and usually runs around 200-205°F. IATs sky rocket in the heat though, around town they were 194°F.
6:56 I went through the same thing with an alternator for a 2001 camry. Turns out Napa was a better parts house but YMMV.
Lesson learned
Is that a impact drill or ? Need to do the same for my trailer but different bit then you have. More like the car jacks.
Regular drill, impact is not recommended.
My grandpa gave me his 2001. Pretty much same as this one. Emaculate. Needs a little paint. Only 164k miles. I’m currently getting a new fuel pump put on. Keeps wanting to cut off after 10 or 15min. Put on new alternator new relays checked battery. Just getting it diagnosed before I go crazy.

I wish Honda would make a RWD v6 sedan. That would be great😎
That would be fun 🤩
I remeber the day my father bought his white 2001 silverado in 2012 when I was only a teenager. He loved that truck, it was his daily driver. He passed away on my birthday in 2021 and my mother gifted me his truck. I drive a ford as my daily driver so I bought a camper shell for my dads truck. He never got met his grandkids but his truck will. It will be a recreational truck. A "between" special connection between Grand father son and child.
Great to hear that bud. 👍
I get the bars are for sway, but when you pull up to where you need to back up your trailer do you take the bars off before backing up. The dealership I got mine said to not turn more then 45 degree angle with the sway bars attached, so if I had to back up do I lift the trailer up take off the sway bars and then lower it again to back it up?
I haven’t taken them off in that situation ever and my driveway is a sharp turn backing up. Remeber they are also for weight distribution, so in many scenarios you need them just to carry the weight. Even when backing up.
Which upgrade will you recommend to do 1st
That’s a difficult question. I think if you have a trailer that requires electric trailer brakes then a brake controller would be first. I think these will squat so those helper springs next. Towing mirrrors would be nice and then adding a trans cooler and temp gauge at the same time so you can keep an eye on the transmission.
@@luisreviews6412 thank you
@@l.d.b.r5141 Did you get a trailer or just getting it ready?
@@luisreviews6412 oh I'm getting ready, I have the tow mirrors, The break controls came with a truck. I'm just saving up for the helper Springs. And the transmission deal.
Did you still have that truck because I haven't seen a video of it on the road Towing the RV?
I jam a pvc pipe over top and screwed it down..I got it to work but my Agitator rusted out so i bent one into the hole...Its spreading but not like it should maybe it wasn't stretched out right...
Im planning to buy an automatic version of this, a 2.4L. Hopefully it lasts for 10 more years.
