Thank you for demonstrating, ❤❤❤
I cropped and hemmed a men's shirt! And it fits so well and looks really clean. I'm so proud of myself, thank you for this video!
My daughter has a sweater she won’t stop wearing and needs some TLC. This video is so much help and informational. Thanks !
Amazing channel. Grateful I found it since I'm about to start making my first medieval garment! Which one is stronger between the running stitch, or the whip stitch for a hem? I'll be using a worsted wool fabric and thread, so quite thicker than the linen demonstrated. What would you recommend for a hem?
What’s the difference between a backstitch and a basting
i heard leather thimbles are nice as well
I practiced along with the video and learnt so much in a short space of time. Thank you so much. I will watch any other videos you have on hand stitching.
Thank you! Very detailed & explained the video very well.
Thank you for this tutorial! It really helped so much!!! ❤
Great video. Very useful.I have a stitching competition at August,I will surely stitching like this.Thank you mam ❤❤❤❤😮😊😊😊😊
These are so useful but I'm terrified of corners and I need them for my headscarf.
Literally what I needed and didn't even know lol thank you <3
Great instruction
when i was broke and needed curtains for my bedroom, i took a valance and a curtain that i already had, used them as a pattern and hand-sewed the "new" set from a flat sheet i had on hand, too. that was about 20 years ago and they're hanging in my bedroom today. they've been through countless wash and dries, and still look just as good as day 1.
The best tutorial ever! Thank you so much!
thank you for the lesson, bu ENOUGH WITH THE THIMBLES
I need to see inside, there are no images online so I don't know before I buy.
Yaaaaasss I sew every single DAY!! ❤
You failed to add...Unless you are too lazy to iron. 😂 I still do it, cause my left hand is a vice from all the EPP stitching.
It's a saviour 😂
THANK YOU for this! It is by far the best tutorial I've watched and now I will be able to do it because I could clearly see what you were doing, you explained it clearly and well...Oh, I've needed this haha!
What is this?????
thank you so much for this! i wanted to get into stitching things like fixing my old clothes i don't wear anymore and this one helped me.
Exactly what I was looking for! - "historical hand sewing". Thank you!
Yo! This is cool shit!!
omg how many ads, do you want ppl to watch the vids or no?
I'm trying to learn to repair and alter my own clothes and your videos are amazing! Thank you so much!
Thanks for teaching an old soldier a new sewing trick! Uniforms, alterations, gear repair and more have made me learn to hand sew many years ago. Still doing that but now also repairing stuffed animals and torn clothes my kids rip while playing make improving hand sewing still important.
I love the language you use to explain this process. beautiful!
ugh bad cam angle
Thanks for this. My first time sewing! The two pieces of material on my guitar case shoulder strap came apart and the padding was exposed. Did an ok stitch for my first attempt!
Im gonna try to hem my school skirt pray for me🙏
Your stitches are PERFECT! I recently got back into sewing and decided to hand sew the hems of my sleeves and bottom hem of the shirt I was making because I wasn’t satisfied with how the stitches were turning out with my machine. I may just need something to mark my seam guide better. But anyway, hand sewing does make me feel a LOT calmer, and actually makes me feel a bit more complete about my sewing? I may do what you do and just hand sew every part of my projects. Longer, but totally satisfying.
Really informative video ❤
It's shocking how hard ot is to find good, clear, quick stitching tutorials. This was clear, didn't waste time with any nonsense and showed everthing needed (especially starting and tying off which most tutorials I found just do too fast or skip altogether). Thank you.
Watched a dozen times and still have no idea what you did... Great video... NOT!
Thank you for this I'm thinking kf making clothes with only my hand sewing, I don't have money to buy a machine, but I really want to learn how to make clothes from scratch thank you for this!
what knot? you never talked about the string or the needle or the knot or how to do any of that?
Learning how to sew is really an underrated skill to have. You can repair almost any fabric with the right methods and it's great 👍
I've always wondered what the use for a thimble was. Turns out me never using it was correct, it's pointless. My thumb and pointer do it all alrdy..thimble officially going in garbage
It just gives protection to push through the needle, instead of pulling it out with first two fingers because that could get tiring if you sew for a long time.
My now late mum was a pro at this😅😢❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! Today my daughter ripped off a zipper on the backpack. Of course I couldn't fit it under the machine. So of course I brought out my late grandmas needle and thimble and started Hand sewing in a new one using this technique! Thank you!
Super!! Such a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing! Blessings to you in your future videos!🪡🧵
I don't understand why you wouldn't double the distance forward and go back only halfway when doing the backstitch, that way at least on one side it looks the same.
How does CZcams know that I know how to sew? I never watch or search for anything related to sewing. But I did watch and find the information useful.😊😊😊
❤thanks for this wonderful video …
Why linen thread?
Ma'am you're an excellent teacher and 2 of those reasons are because your heart is in it and I don't mean in stitching i mean you're heart is in the act of teaching... which is unfortunately a rare thing. I believe that you could teach how to reload a toilet paper-roll just as elegantly as this and what the world doesn't understand by shoving anyperson into a classroom to teach is that" it isn't what you teach its how you teach it." Another person could say and do everything exactly the way you do in this video but not have the presence that you have and the same people wont be as receptive as if you taught it and subconsciously wont learn as well, but think they did. Its like something getting into the ears and the brain as opposed to it getting into the head brain blood and bones... if that makes sense lol. But I say these things because its gonna take people like you to put whatever you teach into generations to come because most of what there learning is entering the ears, brain but not getting deep enough to the blood and bones. And thats important because learning something bone deep is like " building a house on a rock as opposed to building it on sand". With that sand ma'am if your heart is willing could you redo the video but after you watched this a few times and think as if you were learning again thinking of mistakes and obstacles you overcame (EX. Explaining to us that stitching can be more difficult with a single fabric as opposed to multiple) because by you saying that theres honestly no telling how many people would have gotten frustrated with practicing and thinking that if its this difficult with 1 piece of fabric then theres no hope for trying multiple and then giving up. Also Explaining what everything is and its individual job would be awesome like i still have no idea what a thimble is for 😅 or why i would want one lol. PLEASE PLEASE don't let this comment rub off wrong i wanna make this clear you did an excellent job with this and it honestly doesn't need any improvements. I only say this because i think this is an important thing for all of us to know and i know see and feel the gift you have for teaching and honestly i would hate for someone to watch this but then go to another channel without the teaching gift to find out something else and them not get the best teaching on the subject as possible because Im concerned about if for whatever reason the world takes a giant leap back and we have to fall back on our survival skills... which this is a survival skill as well as a hobby. But ma'am thank you for the video and if you are interested in doing that would be awesome but if not thats cool to or if there's a way i can help you to make it let me know. Heck if anyone is still reading this to this point and want to try and make a difference in the world before its to late then hit me up because all of us have gifts and its gonna take as many willing people and as many different gifts as possible to make things better instead of moaning and complaining about whose in office or what politicians are not as bad as others. If change is gonna come then its gonna take us to do the changing. Our children, nieces, nephews or the hungry child in another country need to be taught life skills not a small monthly donation. GIVE A 3RD WORLD HUNGRY KID 5 BUCKS FEED THEM FOR A DAY BUT TEACH THAT YOUNGIN HOW TO HUNT OR COOK FEED EM FOR LIFE!!! So if interested... (commandernick3522@gmail.com) try not to judge if you can its from when I played marvel strike force. But if you have to judge well lol its all good it is kinda korny
I’ve been trying to figure out what this hem is called for a while now! I’m using it on a pair of pj shorts I’m working to hem around the legs so it looks like, flowy and pretty
I'm sewing my sailboat canvas right now. Saving a ton of money. Thought it's more complicated and less fun! All thanks to you!
