    I love the confusion and arguments around buying non Lego sets. Forget about “Fake” or “Rip-Off’ or “Knock-off” arguments. In fact lets for arguments sake say you don’t want Lego at all but instead you want a nice Rolex watch but don’t want to splurge 10K+ on one. So you go on holiday and buy a knock-off for £100ish. You haven’t saved nearly 10K on a Rolex because you haven’t purchased a Rolex. You have purchased a £10 junk watch for £100. Everyone that sees it knows its junk and when you get bored with it and take it to your local Rolex dealer and try to cash in on your bargain you will be laughed at. The same thing is true with Lego. Only Lego is Lego, Only Lego retains its value in the second hand market. So if you can’t or won’t pay Lego prices you will get cheap plastic building bricks, Thats all, You haven’t saved a load of Money on Lego because you don’t have Lego.

    • @RisingApe
      @RisingApe Před 11 dny

      I get what you’re saying but if you choose to save £9,900 buying the cheaper watch you have still saved the 9,900, it doesn’t have the resale value sure but equally you don’t need it because it costs 1% of the original cost. The point you seem to be making is the brand carries value, it’s up to you if that’s worth it for the status of having a Rolex or not.

It seemed odd bu, I'm just a novice and he's the CZcams expert, right? I've taken chemistry classes and there are some non-obvious procedures for properly transferring materials... maybe it's one of those, I wonder. I ask about it and he says it's a "long-running joke". I say it's misleading and he says I shouldn't have looked to him expecting information. Wow. That's a tech reviewer saying that. This isn't, and cannot be, "the end of 3d printing as we know it". That's like saying cars coming from the factory with track tires already installed is going to be the end of aftermarket tires. 3d printing is by definition a hacker creation. And I use the term "hacker" in its original and true context, not in the current "breaking into computer systems (cracker) meaning. There will always be a market for 3d printer systems that are print medium brand agnostic. The PC was never the death of the Apple or Mac. The gaming console was supposed to kill off PC gaming 20 years ago. Until a core technology goes away, there is always a market for non proprietary components and ecosystems.

    How does pap10 and parp10 compare to phrozen 8k resin in terms of detail and quality? Using phrozen on a GK2

    • @RisingApe
      @RisingApe Před 27 dny

      Quality is unreal, using the pap-10 is better than anything I can print on my GK2 even using high detail resins. The parp is still good but notch or two down from there

    I’m a fellow HG Reflex lover and have about six months under my belt with it for engineering applications including casting metals with the PAC10 resin. Just quick note: from my research the Form4 uses a system that sounds identical to the PRM unit of the HG’s. It’s just built into their printer. Also, the PAH10 resin is the strongest resin they make by a long shot. Use it where strength is critical. Lastly, I regularly use third party resins in my HG’s printer. It works wonderfully doing so.

      Yeh I want to have a crack with PAC-10 at some point. The PAH is ace, I’m looking forward to trialling the silicone resin too.

      @@RisingApeif you do try PAC10, reach out. I found their recommended burnout wasnt ideal. I modified it to be more of a conventional resin burnout (theirs seems based on wax) and it worked fantastic! The print quality of PAC10 is like nothing I’ve seen and utterly effortless. Unlike every other burnoutable resin I’ve used

    I painted my first mini (3D printed by a friend) with a 4€ 12 set of 14ml acrylics with included brushes (usable) and palette (useless plastic waste, made a wet palette out of a plastic lid and some kitchen roll). It turned out fine, if a bit glossy.

    Hey mate! Love your videos, love from Australia here mate! I’m a brand newby getting a resin printer soon and I’ve managed to snag a pre order for the gk3 ultra at 999 usd, but I’m still torn between it and the hey gears, both are amazing and I’m a bit deterred though by the price of resin for the HG hey gears, and that I can’t change any of the settings if needed. I know it’s perfect out of the box but in future it’ll change and we will still be stuck with that software, settings and resin. I will mostly print miniatures, busts, models and such so I’m happy for your thoughts and input if you’d kindly, I’m just torn between the two 🙂 Love your content mate you are an absolute legend

      Cheers for the kind words, I haven’t used a GK3 yet but I love my GK2. For the heygears it’s a big investment sure, if you are a new printer honestly the GK will be a great buy the only decision will be the build volume / vat size, if you have space then the GK is a beast. For me the GK is ideal for most of my printing needs.

    Amazing, high-end, consumer piece of kit. Thank you for introducing Hey Gears, Reflex as quite possibly the BEST 3D Resin based Printer. I'm a novice , just getting started into 3D filament printing. However, as a retired sheet fed operator, of typically four, five, & six unit offset, full size (40 inch), ink to paper, printing presses. Industry leaders such as, Mitsubishi & Heidelberg (Speedmaster). I've been through many stages of printing & seen it evolve over the years. Early on when I began the trade of printing on paper, it was working in the format known as led type set. These were most often single unit (1 colour, more often black), however, one German Heidelberg printing press stands out the most, from my many, learning experiences on it. That was like the ultimate, revolutionary machine of its time. A strong & heavy press (for those days). The German ink printing machine, called the Heidelberg, Kord. Just google it. That press helped evolve the industry. What I mean by that is, after laying out small, individual pieces of led type, setting it all, individually into a wooden, flat, holder, called a chase. Well this was quite laborious, clever, unique, stylish & all, but once I disassembled this press somewhat. Cleaned the press, and made it ready by installing 16, or more cylinders and rollers, this meticulous, but slow press was transformed into a speed demon. One of the worlds first truly fast, ink printing, off-set style presses. Capable of handling both, type-set, & off-set printing. Now we no longer had to work with individual type pieces of led. Because now we can assemble much more content. Rich, flowing images, and text developed by camera onto plate. Years later in my career, I watched the disposal of a lot of skilled pre-press workers.You see with the ever more increasing use of more advancements in electronics, the technology forced many skilled workers in camera & plate development out of jobs. Take for instance the final versions of multiple unit presses, made by Heidelberg. Just as we rolled into the new millennium, Y2K came about, so did the elite of the Heidelberg, Speedmaster's, off-set printing presses. There was no more hanging the plates to impression cylinders. Instead, every time new plates were required on units, laser diodes went into operation & burnt a new plate. The plates' image came from a RIP on someone's computer, somewhere, after being proofed & signed off by a graphic artist, as well as the client. Next a spool fed roll of mylar with another substance layered on the top, gets rolled into action with the laser diodes burning & etching out the finished work onto the plate cylinder, holding precise register (perfect position in relation with all other plates on the press). Any how, when I look back upon those changes, the printing plant became an ever more increasing lonely place to work. I would catch myself talking more & more with machines. Don't get me talking about C.Y.M.K. (Siam magenta yellow and black), with these four process inks, one found themselves some days not having to develop our ink colours nearly as often. Those four process inks could do pretty well any shade of a rainbow. I'm still just getting into this new game (for me that is), with my first 3D filament fed, roll of substrates, gleefully watching these Creality creations grow. All the while try'n to keep an attentive eye on my creations. Would love to know if I can program my Raspberry Pi 4B, to watch over & make remote changes, on the fly, working on this Hey Gears Reflex possibly using some sort of software on my Raspberry Pi, like OctoPrint.org has created that functions well when pairing something as my Creality, Ender 3 S1 Pro, & Octo Pi? Thanks for your very informative, quality video cast. Hopefully many more to come.
