The not so fun part about off roading, and driving through muddy roads. I show some hidden spots on the taco where mud likes to hide.

I believe the sidewalls only are Kevlar reinforced, not the tread itself with is just a steel belted radial tire.
Why did you buy it with all the paint flaws?
Because it was such a rare vihcle (plus it was the truck I wanted), and I wouldn't be able to get another one like it. I didn't really notice the issues at the dealership, when I took delivery of it. It's actually at the dealership right now getting alot of the paint issues fixed. I'll do a video once I get it back. To see if they actually fixed it. Thanks for watching
@@TheWessGarage LiL Kenny also has one just like yours and does CZcams videos. In case you want to check him out.
My Trd skid plate and the fear jack point have a gap. When I jack up the truck the plate bends till the plate and frame jack point are in contact. Is that how it’s supposed to behave?
No the skid plate should not bend / flex. It doesn't move whenever I jack from the jack point on the skid plate.

Touch up paint will never match dealership oem paint. The Mazda paint is like 4 different layers of paint. Very specific and detailed.
...
It can't get any lower than around 14psi cause of the walls of the tyre
I got a '23 4Runner pro used with 10k miles. I did ppf and ceramic. When prepping it, i found 15 small chips through color. I touched it up. Now 2k miles later, i have 7 more small chips. Two on roof. 5 on the side. Where you dont expect chips. The paint is missing like you show in the gas tank door. I am sick about it. Just discovered it. Will be going to Toyota and probably making my own video if they dont work with me.
After 6 months of fighting with the dealership and Toyota Canada. I finally have an appointment on Wednesday to take my truck in to get it re-painted. I will make a video after it's all done. Stay tuned Also if your in Edmonton the west Edmonton mall Toyota has a 2024 Tacoma in solar octane in there show room and it's paint is much better then the the 2023 Pro's. I think Toyota will be doing a recall on the 2023 Solar Octane trucks
@@TheWessGarage I am in Minnesota, but thank you for the info. I have not made it to the dealership yet. Glad yours is getting repainted. This is reduculous.
Have you ever driven this in a few inches deep of snow (4-6 ish)? I live in Massachusetts and am looking to buy another Miata as my daily driver, but have it be a 4-season vehicle. I have a commute to Boston roughly 3 days a weeks which isn’t bad, but the snow in MA can accumulate quite a bit and even with snow tires I’m curious how it would handle.
I have actually - I have driven through very deep snow on mountainous roads. With good snow tires ( I'd recommend blizzak) LSD and manual transmission the ND is very capable. It also has more ground clearance then my wife's Lexus IS300 black line edition. The only time I feel the Miata is sketchy in the winter is at high speeds on a icy highway, but the car allows you to feel the road and you just have to drive slower and let the big trucks pass you, sometimes lol
@@TheWessGarage I really appreciate that! Thank you! The ability to actually feel the road is one of the reasons I enjoy the car so much - I think it’s the only vehicle out there that truly gives you this ability and it makes driving a lot more fun
Ditch those factory tires and get yourself some more aggressive tread. Won't get stuck then. Tacos a great truck. 👍
I did the OTT tune add on lol to 23’ Manual and it’s easier to drive - less shifting due to more power. Canadian Pro like yours.
Right on !
I have 23’ Pro Manual Canadian version as well. OTT tuned and really zips now.
❤
Nice!
I have those on my Tacoma. They blend well and help prevent others doors into mine. And I also like they don’t hang down. They just kinda blend
Wow your truck's paint is super messed up paint wise!!! Horrible quality coming from Mexico
Made in Mexico so cheap labor. Quality has gone done in these Toyota......if from Japan... U won't see these paint issues!
Tires have an expiration date. Check the manufacturer's date on the sidewall. Shouldn't be driving on tires older than 10 years. Rubber degrades over time. Just like oil should be changed every year and doesn't matter if you are under mileage interval.
I need to buy one for my Taco Bell, as well as the Anti-Theft bracket for my tailgate
Should be both a wheel speed and abs I’d imagine
Love those winter wheels, which size and inset pattern did you purchase? I'm looking at buying the same ones you got. Thanks!
Kinda tricky. They are the silver rpf1's that I had powder coated black 17x7 4x100 +38 +43 off set does not clear the Brembo's (learnt that the hard way, one of my caliper is now scratched)
ND1 has more lowend torque (20ftlbs around 3k rpm).. ive driven them back to back (own an ND1) and have more fun in the ND1 for my style of driving.. cheaper too as I got a 2016 w/BBS+Brembos.. Dude... Press INFO on your steering wheel to see 'mpgs'.....
😳 OMG lol - I just pressed info! 🤣 Amazing! Thanks buddy, I've owned this car for almost 5 years now and didn't know that!!! Also I agree with you - ND1 with the more usable power down low is alot nicer of a daily, I love the low end torque. Had a civic si before - no torque
@@TheWessGarage np dude.. the manual and/or Google are your friend
You have an npc in the passenger seat. 😮
The reason to avoid driving an MX-5 in the winter is that if you live in an area that salts and brines the road when there's snow, it will accelerate the rusting process. If you check out Conquer Driving's videos on his MX-5 after 1 and 2 years of ownership, you can see that his is already starting to rust on the underside.
Very true! I actually have always had every vehicle I’ve ever driven get their under carriage coated before the winter and the self-healing paint protectant applied, too. Definitely costs $$ but it’s been well worth it because it’s kept each of them in beautiful shape even after the harshest of winters
The bad thing about these? They are built in MEXICO versus Japan, like the 4Runner.......
Use a black sharpie marker. Good to go
I’ve heard that the pint jobs on Toyotas aren’t that great
Painted in Mexico, so standard paint quality.
Meaning the best? I lived in San Diego and by far the best bodywork and upholstery was done in Mexico or in US at a Mexican shop. They cared about the results much more than most.
its a truck. if you dont want any imperfections, then drive a barbie car
What happened to the black TRD wheels that supposed to be on the pro?
Those are my winter rimes and tires
Mall crawler, at best.
Its an off road built truck who cares. Start using it for what it was made for.
Or enjoy for a long time in nice condition. Tyler you are either rich, a teenager or a clown
Jesus - just drive the mf and quit worrying about it. Nothing lasts forever.
Of course you can address the orange showing through on the black pillar, with paint, plasti-dip, ppf, a wrap material, etc, but you shouldn't have to deal with that on a $50K truck in my opinion. Truck does look great, though. I'm still jealous.
I've got a TRD Pro that looks identical to this.. in the unicorn manual 6 speed!
@@edx21x very nice!
I have 23’ Pro manual and it’s excellent.
the "V8" is a code for something completely different. Some say N5 or other letter/number combos.
Worked as dealtialer for toyato there vehicles come off the shipping trailers with micro scratches all over the place on alot of them definitely go over them with razor like vision in the sunlight out before buying my bother bought a black 4 runner had a bad scratch before it left the lot and he didn't notice
dude is a tacoma not a porshe spyder, its a fucking truck for fuck sake, it is meant to work not for a carshow, stop whining
Bro you can take that to a wrap shop they can re wrap that black for you maybe in 45 minutes 😊
Comment.....That V8 sticker is what happens when you get truck put together in Mexico.....lack of quality control.
Comment.....Get a heat gun and take the black vinyl off of your door pillars and get some stainless steel pillar covers
My 22 say's N5. Might be a location where they took it out of or who assembled it.
Washer styLe
Been around a looooonng time
How did you install the actual cover? I was able to get the side rails on but now I have nothing to secure the actual cover to the rails aside from Velcro. Am I missing a piece?
The top of the cover clips into the top of the rails by your back window and then you can unroll the cover and secure the 4 rail clamps. I hope that helps! Sorry for the delay
How’s it handle snow load?
Did you undercoat this truck?
I had the same issues (paint and the fender peeling). Seems common with these Tacomas. The phone charger sucks too
I Love my 23 TRD double cab 6’ bed, leather, sunroof, LED lights, JBL stereo system, etc. Yes it hunts for gears so I’ll have an Overland Tailor Tuning system downloaded to stop this issue.
