Great tool. Thanks.
I saved the Typecat file as a txt tab delimited file but the adding the custom catalog does not recognize the .txt files even if I go straight from the typecat saved txt file to add custom catalog in the annotate image. I can reopen the file in the Typecat script but I can't open them in the annotate image, any suggestions? All my repositories are up to date and I am running the most recent version of Pixinsight. TIA
In Annotation Script, click green plus to add. Scroll down and click Custom. Then in the Custom Parameters field there is Catalog Path. To the right of that is a folder. Click that. Then change the type from csv to plain text txt. your file should show up. be sure you are in the correct folder wherever you saved the text file too. The newest version of PI defaults to looking for csv files now instead of txt files. So at first it looks like it isnt there.
Very good! Thanks!

Thanks! I do not believe I can improve on BlurX though.... what issues are you having with it?
Interesting.
I may very well be using this later today! Thanks, and keep up the awesome work!
Really nice Frank , again a plus for making our images more beautiful in Pixinsight !! THX
Awesome!! I will certainly be using this in my processing workflow. Thank you.
this is kind of scary. I'm just processing my last image wich is.... the lobster nebula. And i encountered some problems with the O2 image, maybe a problem with flats or something. So this morning i realized i have to find a way to process out a part of the image that has too much blue in it, without touching the rest of the image. This script is perfect gor that, combining a Game script with a blue mask should do it
Glad I showed my lobster as an example then! The universe must have been speaking to me when I made the video :)
Thanks! This is perfect for a pixel math challenged guy like me!
Amazing Tool! I always struggle to isolate certain areas with the masks and now this is very easy to achieve! Thanks a million Franklin that you have release that script!

Thank you for the great tutorial. I see you have a QE Curve for the Panasonic chip in SPCC. Can you tell me how you were able to get that curve? Thanks!
You can get it here: pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?threads/spcc-asi1600.20318/ There was a pixinsight forum post for it. Once you have the file in PI you go to Process -> All Processes -> Filter Manager then Task: Import CSV FIlter Definitions
@@setiv2 Thank you. I downloaded the .txt file and converted to .csv via an online converter. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be recognized by PI (doesn't see the file).
@@fishrmn703 dont convert it. Just literally change the extension name from .txt to .csv If you still cant get it working i can extract my xml file and get you a link to it

Excellent presentation. There are a lot of more advanced features in this that we usually don’t see. Thank you
Excellent video, and it has given me a plethora of new tools and ideas to try out. Thank you!
Great analysis! I've been playing with FBPP vs WBPP and I agree with you that if you're not drizzling, FBPP is the way to go. Although it has the drizzle option that you can integrate later, it's just another few clicks that I wish I didn't have to do. Hope they include it into FBPP at some point.
Be sure to watch part 2. If you are drizzling you will want wbpp still
Thanks for checking this one out! With regards to your pinwheel, do not do blurx/convolution before deepsnr, that's why you are getting those artifacts. Your results will be just as good as the others if you do deepsnr first. The software author suggests doing deepsnr as one of your first processing runs for best results.
@@dominickzaucha i dont think that was the issue with the pinwheel. I can do some more testing specifically on that one. Regarding blurx though you need to run that before any noise reduction. It is important since blurx is teasing out structure from the noise. If you get rid of the noise first bkurx cannot get its best results.
@setiv2 I agree with that, except with deepsnr. It needs to be run early like step 2. I may have misinterpreted it along the way as well. It's just that I have the same exact noise pattern running blurx first.
I did the test. BlurX doesn't affect DeepSNR at all. I figured it wouldn't since BlurX doesn't mess with the noise (which is what makes it so amazing). You can see the comparison on my site: www.setiastro.com/deepsnr-comparison#deepsnrbxt
@setiv2 thanks for the heads up! I'm going to have to do a few steps back and see why mine is doing the hallucinating.
Interesting I gave it a try . Smoothing is not so waxy compared to NXT, and that's a good thing. Unfortunately, it gave me some weird artifacts, like pure red or yellow hit pixels in the core of saturated stars
Do you own blurx? If so you can run that on correcr only see if that fixes those pixels. Other option if it seems really bad 8s remove the stars first prior to running deepsnr

Time for an upgrade! PI v1.9 will require AVX2
@@setiv2 Doesn't sound like a good economic decision if pixinsight won't support Apple PCs. I doubt that pixinsight will not have a solution to continue supporting apple. If they don't there will be a lot of ticked off users.

I finally got to install.
Tried to install on Mac Mini M2. put the desired files into bin. The libtensor* into framework (AFTER ALLOWING execution!). Then executed ADBE and got mallocation error... Trying to use the alias pointing to the newer libtensor* - this does not work. So - the installation process of this tool will have potential and quality check also using the more recent lebtensor* from PI... Anyway - referring to the absolute ingenious ADBE some of us would be VERY happy since for example EZ denoise would get some "service" since it works without AI... (it is just a great dream ;-) )
I am not very familiar with mac's. Since StarNet and tensorflow libraries are native in PI you should be following the process for "Already Have StarNet". Maybe that will resolve your issue. Otherwise you can reach out to the developer. I never used the EZ suite. Is the repository still up? If he isn't updating those scripts anymore maybe I can take a look at the EZ denoise.
According to the readme text with it, there is a dependency on AVX and it appears that AVX is not supported on the Apple silicon. I tried installing it on my M3 and it would not install. Too bad.
@@jimcollins1922 maybe time for an upgrade! PI v1.9 will require AVX2
@@setiv2 Looks like operator error on my part. I downloaded the wrong version. FYI The apple silicon macs are the latest macs and they don't support AVX but pixinsight uses apples graphic service which I believe is called Metal.

Installation was no problem, copied the two files into /bin and the recommended other 2 into /framework. Is there any remedy to speed things up?
On a mac noisex uses your unified memory and gpu, sounds like deepsnr is just using your cpu. I dont have a mac, so for me it uses my cuda acceleration. You may want to reach out to the developer and see if there is a remedy for gpu acceleration or if there is a install step missed.
