Copying/Tracing a Pop RnB Song "Buenos Aires" Nathy Peluso
Credit to Nathy Peluso for the song "Buenos Aires" I'm using this under fair use of copyright. I am not generating any money off of the use of this song. Check out the real version of "Buenos Aires" czcams.com/video/O8BLUzAxNmQ/video.html
I call this a "tracing" because I'm doing my best to play exactly on top of the existing parts, using the midi keyboard to copy the sound of the instrument: keyboard, bass, drums, vocals.
It's super fun and I'm learning a lot and getting a better ear! At the end of the video I show where I've been tracing a recording of a song from the Rennaisance to work on learning that language too!

00:30 - Inspired to learn the keyboard hook
00:56 - Started with the keyboard part

I'm Making (Pablo Casals') Rainbows on 1700's Music

In this video I'm showing how I added crescendos and decrescendos in the style and spirit of Pablo Casals (as well as Jacques Mornet and Nathalie Boucheix from CNIMA). "All of music is a succession of rainbows..." Is a quote attributed to Pablo Casals from the book Casals and the Art of Interpretation. I find that it improves the musicality of the melodies and overall song.

In this video I'm telling you why I think "Chet" is not just the best ear training app, but also why and how it will help you get better at music! And I'm demonstrating using it on lessons 1, 3, 8 and 13. I have no affiliation with this app, and I make no money from this app.t

Thanks Dallas!
Tommy Gumina’s free bass system makes the most sense IMO and is the easiest to learn. It’s similar to Titano extended stradella system, except the lowest octave is nearest the left edge. When you go up to the next octave(s) you do not have to skip over a counterbass row, so it’s easier to play smooth scales and arpeggios. The downside was that you could not make a “converter” accordion that could switch to stradella. Nick Ariondo is the only guy I know of that plays it
This ist too much talking adjusting selfreliant awfull
It’s great to see you explaining the bass side of the accordion. But for a beginner I think it’s a little too advanced. Thanks for sharing.
All the things you are
Bring me the tunes, man. I'm 5 minutes into your b.s. and, oh there it is. Now I hear ya.
Thank you so much for this Dallas! This is such valuable technique that you shared from the workshops.
came for knowledge , stayed for meow mix commercial
Nice sound!
Came for the cellist 😆
To much talk yuk
It's a lesson!
You seem to be repeating yourself.
To much talk yuk
Some of us learned something from all the talk.
Are the classes recorded and available?
Thanks for your help! Great player! Super accordion 🪗 🎉
You need an intro, I almost didn't catch the name of the app 😅
You should check Øivind Farmen's system for thumb use
14:07 Cool I'll use this!
Good morning , my name is not Steve ,, but Thank so much for helping out ,, very good tutorial video
Fantastic arrangement ideas. Love your setting too.
Thanks so much! 😊 I'll be back in the desert for the month of June, so if it's not too hot out, I'll do the livestream outside again!
The 3 guys playing „over the rainbow“ are using a very old and published arrangement by George Shearing note by note. Sorry, but Shearing and his piano sounds better.
Thanks for that information Rudolf, I did not know that was the arrangement. You've inspired me to go find that arrangement, it's gorgeous.
@@RisingReed I hate to tell you … but that collection of scores published under Shearings name but never played by him like that … is definitely out of print. But it‘s worthwhile looking for it. I once arranged it in a slightly reduced way for classical guitar, my main instrument, played it for my children and it still sounded gorgeous. And on the acc solo YOU have even more possibilities. If you haven‘t been successful by next month, I can try and contact my LH-airbus flying and Boesendorffer playing daughter and search her collection. 😎
Are you still doing those classes? I am interested
great stuff!!!!!
Thanks!
Great musical lectures, you can learn a lot and watch the game of Jazz and swing.👍✌👌
Thanks so much, very interesting and helpful video. It's difficult to find good video about technical approch of jazz with accordion
Love the Vallenato, thanks! Back in the day the “cartridge” converted the movement of the “needle” to an analog electrical signal. Album “covers” were known for their “cover art,” often as notable as the music, think “Tapestry” or “Who’s Next.” Blast from the past!
Thanks Tom! That chain of knowledge! Do you still put on any records?
Thank you for sharing your tutorial.
This is the best youtube tutorial on jazz for the accordion. One of the reason being that it is the only one :-) Jokes aside, this is really good stuff.

Do you have a recommendation for an android app?
I have an Android and it's not available. It looks like a great app. I'm going to see what else is available.
Dallas!
Neato!
Hello. This is a good example of the accordion being a good instrument to play. Thank you for posting this
Joe can write a tune. Sounds great.
I completely agree with you!
Cool Master
Nice video! And thank you for the information. What model is your Sonola accordion ?
It’s an SS4 “Ernie Felice” model. But i don’t own it, a very nice friend is loaning it to me while I’m in California.
This is such great information and serves as a reminder to keep using these techniques. Your teaching style really clicks with me. Oh, and the Meow Mix! Fantastic.
You are so welcome! And thank you for the kind words!
I am just learning this plus extended harmony.
I play the piano as well as accordion. The ability to learn a bass pattern and be able to move it to any key without changing fingering has the accordion beating the piano hands down! When I first started a master accordionist told me I’d have a bit of a hard time going from controlling dynamics via finger pressure (on the piano) to bellow-based. He told me from the start, “punch those bass buttons and keep them short presses”. This jives with your “no legato” advice. He also told me to keep that bass strap tight… which is great for strolling, but it prevents me from sliding my hand up and down the rows like you do. I’m rethinking that advice now! Your videos like this one are super helpful!
Great advice from that master accordionist in your past. The bass strap can be a little elusive - I think you don't want it so tight that you can't move up and down, but you definitely don't want it too loose. The strap on the accordion I am playing in that video tends to loosen up on me as I play, it is probably a little looser in the video than I'd like it to be.
Very helpful! Thank you RisingReed
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent 👍 music 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶👏 like 💯💯 video 📸 🔥🤟🔥🤟 Bravo 👏 my friend 🙏 💃🎶💃💯💃💯🤩👈 thanks you 😄
Great tune! Than you!
My pleasure! I hope to keep turning them out. Check out the sheet music and SoundSlice embedded on my website.
Totally cool. Heard Joe play this with ‘Ball & the Quintet many times Live!
So cool! I saw Joe Z once at Reno College during a High School jazz band competition.
Thanks so much for posting. After the live stream I was like “I wish I could watch that again”.
Thanks Dallas! Your guidance is really helpful as I strengthen my skills on playing jazz standards on the accordion 🪗
I'm so happy it's helpful. I plan to do more stuff like this. And probably a couple jazz chords courses coming up later this year.
Looks like you're having a lot of fun, Dallas. Ciao from Melbourne 😉
I just love how you are explaining your thoughts… it’s really helpful! But where can I buy an accordion like yours that has all the right notes because mine seems to have a lot more wrong notes than yours!?! ;)
I have the same problem! I am using an Excelsior maybe I should try a Sonola! HAHA!
Haha. The accordion doesn't hurt that's for sure. This is a borrowed from a friend, Ernie Felice Model SS4. It's an amazing jazz accordion.
That was me that made the comment! I feel like you shouted out to me! So cool!
You inspired this little segment!
Thanks Dallas! This is an awesome tutorial.
Thanks for checking it out. I look forward to doing more in the future.
