MEEKA is the star of the show ! 60 yrs ago ( when my Dad's EH was new, and I was only 12 ) we ( Dad)drove that Holden across the country over the DIRT Eyre Hwy to Sydney. So I know an EH can make it, but ours was in better shape than yours !! We got to Sydney, turned around and drove it back to WA. The toughest challenge was the lack of service stations, back then, compared to now, and the car's tiny fuel tank ( about 12 gallons). We had to carry a lot of fuel cans with us, but the 179 didn't use any oil, or overheat. lucky coz Dad knew NOTHING about mechanical devices ! Good luck with your trip, it's bringing back a lot of fond memories of crossing our great country with basic Australian Built motor transport !

Nice ‘New’ Old Defender. You might consider buying a 100aH Lithium battery for your accessories and isolate it to also charge both batteries from the alternator. (Kings are cheap but good). You don’t need an expensive DcDc set up. Look at Sidewinder isolators. Contact them for advice. I have the set up in my 2004 Discovery. Keep up the training with the dogs and they will look after you. Thanks for your vid. Btw, I too used to own an EH wagon. My first car when I was 19. Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🦘

old holdens never die, just keep checking the oil and drive it around the world ! the last time i ran away from home i too drove all over the outback, once the outback gets under your skin, you are hooked and you find yourself finding ways to see it again.

Anybody can cross Australia in a late model ute and caravan. But crossing Straya in an old Holden is a completely different adventure. I'm doing my 15th adventure to Straya and you blokes are an inspiration that shows the fun in adventuring throughout Straya. GOOD ON YA COBBY.😂
