I’ll never go looking to buy bottles in my own state any longer. I’ll just pick up interesting bottles or allocated stuff in ohio or kentucky when i visit family now

How do you find any of these bottles in VA?

I live up the street from sagamore. Love everything they do. There’s nothing that comes close to their 8 year. Much better than the Michters. It’s my most cherished bottle.

New tactic to kill the secondary market is opening it before you leave the store. Value goes down on opened bottles I'm a fan of anything that kills secondary. If your gifting it it shouldn't matter if they are going to drink it. Just my opinion but there are some many uneducated new bourbon and whiskey drinkers that are effected by FOMO and get taken by unscrupulous sellers. I have several daily zippers but all are shelfers and cost effective. I'm really into Middle West spirits out of Ohio both their pumpernickel rye and wheated bourbon are fantastic pours. And a NDP in Cleveland River Roots. Their barrel picks are on a different level. Chef Michael Symon has a couple picks and they are great. Enjoy!!🥃🥃🥃

Good video. I’m looking forward to seeing if sagamores own rye distillate can match their previously sourced 8 year MGP in a few years. And as a Willett fan alternatives are difficult to find, as their own distillate is just as good or even better than the prior HH barrels they had long before the purple top program started. And since the scale of their operations is so small (they have less overall barrels than BTAC has) I have seen people suggesting their prices being attributed to artificial scarcity laughed out of a room.

I'm not a fan of the new system as well...

If you're at all insterested in having your new bottel backlighting do effects/chagne color I can help ya out - can use cheap ESP boards and free firmware to controll them over wifi. Also.. I got lucky and scored 2x RR15's at that VA drop :)

I was unsure how to feel about the new system. Yesterday I lucked out stopping at a store on the way home and they had Blantons, ER, and McKenna. Got my bottle and figured I’d stop again on the way home today and there was still at least one of everything. If it keeps up I’ll be happy.

Yes, it would be nice to get an allocated bottle once in awhile as I have. But, I would never pay secondary market prices with so many choices already on the shelves.
