How much power can a 5.7L HEMI (powered vehicle) handle?
In this video we discuss how much power the (NAG1, 65RFE, 8HP70, and TR6060) transmissions offered with 5.7L HEMI equipped vehicles, the drive shaft, the half shafts/axles, the differential, the rotating assembly (crankshaft, pistons, and connecting rods), and the fuel system can handle. As well as discussing how much boost and nitrous these motors can typically handle stock.

Very informative great video bro 🔥🔥🔥
"Make a whole breakfast before hitting the next gear" Fuck me if this isnt the truest thing about these NAG1's. Lot of people swear up and down with the blue top solenoids from AMG. They are NOT worth it if you compare the performance differences between just swapping the solenoids vs putting a built valve body in with a shift tune. And they cost about the same price. Right now I have neither, and just a trans tune with the InTune I3. Combine that with constantly resetting the TCM adaptation, and its like driving an entirely different car. As always, banger video full of info 🤙
I wanna get a steering wheel with the lights for rpms
Great video brother! Spot on and super informative. Keep them coming! 💪
I need one of these wheels!
I can't wait to see what's next!
Yessssssssssssssssssss sirrrrrrrrrrrrr let’s get to it🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loved the video!
Love the wheel!
Good info!👀🔥
YESSIRRRRR!!
I've been waiting for this one!

I got that cam in my 300c with eagle head swap, 3.06 lsd, and borla catback it’s quick
Bros doin the things i wish i could lmao, how many miles on ur car ? I wouldve went all out but almost being at 200k miles scares me also what is that fire ass song
What's wild, my 2015 RT challenger Super track pack 6spd came with LSD, suspension, an stock ecu "track mode," and everything else i need...but still a 5.7. So i could drop in a 6.4, or...i could make 550+ with the list you gave.
every scat owner is going to be mad watching this
I love the video I want this steering wheel for my 300
I need that steering wheel omg
I been having mine come out my mid pipes from long tube headers for like a month now 😭😂
Add .7 hemi duh😂
😂 you ain’t lyin! (I’m interested to see a 5.7L based 392 stroker vs. a factory 392. It would have to be contained to either NAG1 or ZF 8HP vehicles to be more accurate. Also, the model of the vehicles would need to be the same for accurate results. I’m curious to see how the 5.7L based stroker would compare to a 392 HEMI. The pre 2015 392s also made 15 HP less, but that’s somewhat minimal. 392 cars comes with a LSD from factory, which would be a slight advantage from a dig. An Eagle 5.7L HEMI based stroked would produce more power over the pre-eagle 5.7L just due to the Eagle heads being D port vs the small square port on pre-eagles. Just food for thought 🤔
Steering wheel looks fire bro
Thank you man! The matching shift knob should be coming in sometime within the next week. I’m excited to get it in
@@Underdogbuilds your joint about to be fire can’t wait to be apart of the finish
You do not have to change the torque converter for a cam swap. And stop telling everyone the oil pumps go bad, they do not. The reason for an oil pump upgrade is better oil flow (which also increases oil pressure) to help protect the lifters.
I didn’t indicate that you have to change the converter, I said it’s something to consider. This video is speaking about things that you should consider/think about and things you MAY need. Every cam swap will not be the same. Some cams require a higher stall, some cams do not. If you don’t want to touch the converter, you have to make sure the cam you choose does not require you to touch the converter. I also said you may want to consider replacing or upgrading the oil pump, water pump, serpentine belt, and timing chain if your motor is higher mileage and you’re already in there. (These things tend to need to be replaced, especially if you’re camming the car and hoping to have the motor last a good while) I personally think you should upgrade the oil pump if you already have access no matter the mileage to improve flow. The whole valve train will benefit. (I know there’s a lack of lubrication at idle and low RPM operation) There have been numerous oil pumps that have needed replacing around the 70,000-100,000 mile range; however, they typically last for 200,000 miles. I’m not indicating that oil pumps always tend to go bad, but I’m recommending the consideration of a high volume oil pump. This video is going to be recorded again due to me wanting to include a couple things I missed such as certain gasketry. I’ll be sure to reword it so it’s clear that I’m recommending to upgrade the oil pump due to a lack of lubrication at idle and low RPM operation. I see how it seems as if I’m saying the pump will go bad, but that was not the intent of that sentence. I should’ve explained a bit more in depth, which is another reason the video is already being redone.

Thank you man, I appreciate you! I’m redoing 2-3 videos that are on the channel to have the best delivery of and most accurate information possible and I have quite a few new video that are going to be dropping. We’ve got a couple vlogs in editing, an unboxing/sit down, and some more informational videos lined up! The next informational video (being edited currently) is speaking in the limitations of 5.7L HEMI powered vehicles! (The limitations of the rotating assembly, fuel system, and main components of the drive train will all be spoken about. Including the transmission, driveshaft, differential, and axles)
@@Underdogbuilds I’m here for it man I have a 2011 R/T Max in redline pearl red with the peanut butter interior. 93 tune TCM/PCM, intake, exhaust, pedal commander for shits and giggles turned up to the max lol so it’s a fun car. I’ll be around enjoying your content man. Keep it up!!

Best advice on here my friend is do your research. Good video
Thank you very much man! And most definitely, the best advice I can give is do your research, then do a bit more digging to be sure! There’s so much conflicting information throughout CZcams and forums, it’s insane. Many people jump before they know what to expect and it makes for a rough time.
So the midpipes i want and need come with cat convertors can i get those taken off would it be considered catless if i kept them on and took the stock ones off
You could have them hollowed out and it would be considered catless 🤞🏼 I’m sure you could also have the cats cut out at an exhaust shop, but at that point they could just make you custom mids. If you want to go catless, I’d say get them hollowed or have an exhaust shop make custom mids. The reason a lot of folks will hollow the cats rather than remove them is so when people look at the mids it seems as if they still have catalytic converters 😄🤞🏼
Bro you need an alignment
Just got an 06 300c with 126 on the 5.7. What should I do man ?
I have a video called “simple mods to improve 5.7L HEMI powered vehicles” that I feel would be a good place to start. They’re modifications that are a bit more simple for home installs and getting your feet wet with the car. (They aren’t any crazy modifications though). Since it’s a pre-eagle motor (2003-2008), I recommend addressing the issues with the heads and such. The heads are known to have valve spring and valve seat issues. This can be resolved by having your stock heads reworked (least favorite option as the car is down the whole time your heads are shipped off and it limits your build for the future) or you can swap heads (6.1L or 09+ 5.7L “Eagle” heads). If you swap heads you’ll need new pushrods, an intake manifold, the correct spark plugs, and (D port) exhaust manifolds at the minimum. That gives you the perfect reason to cam the car since you already need some valve train components and you’re pulling the heads. This also gives you the perfect excuse to get some shorty or long tube headers in place. A tune up would be required as well of course, especially with cam, heads, and headers done. All of this work would leave you over 500HP at the crank and you’d most likely need some better tires for the rear end (and possibly some wheels if you’d like to have separate wheels & tires for putting the power down vs. daily driving). I would also just like to mention that DiabloSport tuning is a viable option, but it’s not really worth it in the long run. If you plan to build the car HP Tuners is the way to go, if you’re fine with limitations Diablo sport is fine. (Diablosport is hit and miss with transmission tuning, they quit selling the tuning software to tuners so you’re limited in who can tune you, and diablos canned tunes provide minimal gains. - but diablosport tuners do allow you to slightly improve the car with canned tunes, adjust fan settings, adjust shift firmness, fully turn off traction control, disable MDS, select/change tire size for speedometer accuracy, remove the rev limited in P & N, and you have the option of custom tunes (it’s just more limited than HP Tuners). Plus it doubles as a scan tool/code reader. (I may have forgotten a setting/feature or two but that’s sums up the diablosport tuners)
I have a 2005 Chrysler 300c with a 5.7. It has a nearly new radiator and a new water pump and thermostat. I wasn’t having any issues with it overheating. The other day it ran hot so I pulled into a parts store and turned off the motor until I could find the problem. Problem was the bottom hose going from the radiator to the reservoir was off, don’t know how or why 🤷 but I put it back on and every since I have been having problems with the temperature gauge topping up to the overheating point. I have burped it twice from the reservoir but haven’t found the tools yet to remove the bleeder plug and it is still doing the same thing. I’m starting to think that I should replace my thermostat again because the hose connected to it gets extremely hot. Should I replace it with the 180 thermostat or the superstat thermostat
ever thought about getting stars in the roof or even srt seats?
Bro had nothing but green lights 😂

Thankfully, once in a while, I hear some words from a RAMM owner or 350 hemi owner knows pretty well with talking about at least has done some research, a bit more than the average person that tends to lay blame When there is no plane to be made, without back scientific evidence rather than speculation. Case in point would be your reference towards some of the issues regarding the MDS system, and the truth of the matter is that the MDS kicking on and off happens so quickly and doesn't stay on for very long or long enough for any type of overheating to occur or uneven cylinder wear yes, in previous generations there were some uneven cylinder issues, but that was simply due to the fact that it was the same cylinders shutting on and off whereas now with all of the advancements in the computer ships running the PCM it's so random that there is no one even not to mention that the PCM keeps track of what cylinder what, and how often in Order to mitigate uneven cylinder potential. It's really only about a 3 to 8% fuel savings for the pre-periods in MDS actually kicks in in my view it's just Negligible with regards to any of the problems that the hemi motor has had. It's human nature to lay blame or to add reason as to why something is occurring if we don't know why we have to put anything that's occurred that we don't understand and for most people that aren't educated as you are it's completely understandable and completely reasonable as to why some may lay blame on the MDS system because the problem seem to pop up once those major changes were made. One of the major factors was the distance of which the overhead cams were lifted much higher than in previous generations. This created an unintentional lack of lubrication from a fixed displacement, oil oil pump, undersized for its application. we can simply learn from the 6.4 L hemi with an oil pump that is also fixed displacement but larger volume of approximately 12% which is quite a bit when you take consideration the motor holds is it 7 quarts or 6.622L in Canadian. So at 12% more oil by volume equals 795 mL which is very close to full quarter of oil. That is a significant amount of added lubrication in my view the leading cause of the cam and lifter failures on the Newer HEMI engines. Contributing factors, as I'm sure you are aware was excessive idling times and increased service intervals at the hands of the vehicle manufacturer, making claims of longer oil change intervals in order to increase sales. One company did it. Every company had to follow suit and sadly enough one of those companies was Toyota, for decades was a leader, rather than the weight and see approach that failed them with their poorly designed or I should say poorly assembled. V6 twin turbo platform. So it kind of comes down to your tips at the end of the video that are hands down the best advice any vehicle owner should follow. In the end, common sense to some people may be uncommon sense to others. If you look at the owners of the DODGE DEMON IT WAS WHERE A LOT OF THE OWNERS WERE GOING AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF ENGINEERS, WITH DECADES OF EXPERIENCE AND COMPUTER MODELS THAT TOLD THEM WHAT IS ENGINE MUST HAVE DONE DURING THE BREAK AND PROCEDURE PRIOR TO TAKING IT TO THE TRACK OR DRIVING IT MORE AGGRESSIVELY, THEN A NON-PERFORMANCE CAR. These owners knew more than the engineers that designed the motors with all of the R&D that went into high-performance engine. Had these customers understood the reasoning and thought a little bit more about it. I don't think there would be nearly as many engine failures had the breaking procedures been followed. We can control what we do, and give advice if asked in order to help others....
Hopefully you went and purchased a torque wrench after that scare because the torque spec for the two bolts holding the thermostat housing down he's only 9 foot pounds and if you are that skilled to know exactly what 9 foot pounds feels like going into an aluminum housing with coolant between the thread SERVICES of the bolts and the housing. Then I'm impressed. You got lucky that was water underneath your car from the air-conditioning. You had running when your compressor gets really cold from the AC running will cause condensation and once you're stopped the water from the condensation will create a misleading pool of a Foreign substance. if it's humid enough, the compressor will freeze or appear frozen on the outside until the vehicle is turned off again the AC is turned off. Keep on MODDIN! Cheers. If your vehicle does have a clutch fan, you can remove that to free up about 20 ponies. There's no need to install a V6 fan either. The existing electric fan that's remaining is more than adequate enough to cool the engine. if you have shutters, you can toss them too. Just remember to rig up something to attach the actuator to, and then limit the distance, the actuator arm can travel as to not throw a fault code.
Souds incredible brother, is that a straight pipe? Or can I know what exhaust have you used?
Would you recommend catless muddies or high flow cats. I wanna know what the best is for my 300 so I can get the best result 🙏🏻
I just bought a srt8 for 650 and I’m finna rebuild it definitely gonna need that comp cam ur holding sir
That’s a steal! What are your plans for the car? Here’s the link to the cam and other components that I got. I went with the Comp Stage 2 (220/230) camshaft highhorseperformance.com/hhp-racing-comp-cams-hrt-roller-camshaft-package-for-03-08-5-7l-05-10-6-1l/
For my 06 300C I installed a 3.06 gear from a 2010 - 2014 challenger (open diff) abt 300 bucks. (Stock gear 2.82) makes it a bit more fun without the big expense of a posi.(get the axels and larger wheel bearings as well)
Have you done anything else ? I just bought the same yr and model and and all it had added was spacers
@Baby9inee get a 180 Tstat and be VERY certain your cooling system is solid !!! Soon as you can get a tuner so you can adjust fan turn on temperature and to turn off MDS. While you're there increase transmission shift firmness. Learn about the conductor plate and leaking electrical plug in transmission .
Where can i get my fans adjusted with out a tuner?
Get that melling high volume oil pump in there while your at it
Yessirrr 100%, I’m also going to grab a heavy duty timing chain set from HHP. I’ll probably grab a new water pump too just to make sure I refresh everything while I’m in there. They’re all relative in price, the Melling pump and heavy duty timing chain isn’t much more expensive than OEM. I’ll be installing a 3200 stall converter as well after I see what she runs in the 1/4 mile on the stock converter, the stock torque converter is terrible though. I appreciate you watching the content brotha man 🫱🏻🫲🏼🙏 I’ll also be refreshing exhaust manifold gaskets, grabbing ARP head bolts (I’ll be going with studs when I grab these other heads off my buddy for the next stage of the build), freshening up spark plugs, replacing the serpentine belt (might as well), and a couple other things to make sure I’m set up well for the next stage of mods😄
Keep it clean and classic fr. It looks so good.
I appreciate that very much man, I’m definitely trying to keep her on the clean and simple side of things 😄🙏 I do gotta lower her a bit though, my fitment has been meh since I sold the 22s and grabbed these 20s
