Ive done a bunch of videos since this one so my memory is hazy but I believe I went over that. There is the TLR 7X and 7X USB. The 7X USB is the rechargable one and you have to remove the battery and plug into a USB cord to charge it up. I’m not sure if Streamlight is selling the battery by its self or not

@@360TacticalSolutions Yes the battery does need to be removed for charging which is unusual but I read that was done to preserve water proof rating. No rubber flip cover to get lost, broken and exposing electronics to water and debris

Well I never said it was hard to do, I didn’t say it was complicated and I certainly don’t say it was too much work…so I don’t thing “That’s lazy af” really applies does it? Nothing about your comment actually relates to what I said. It’s not about it being hard to do, it’s about adding an external tool into the takedown procedure. How many guns do you own that require a secondary tool to break down for cleaning, maintenance or any type of failure? With the exception of some of my 1911’s using a paper clip to remove the guidrod and of course the Taurus, none of my pistols require a tool for disassembly. You can of course carry a tool with you in case you need to disassemble the GX4 but it’s one more thing to have to do, one more thing to be forgotten or to go wrong. This would of course make sense if not having a takedown lever held any type of advantage…which I can’t for the life of me find one. If you can point out an advantage to not having a takedown lever I’m happy to listen to your thoughts.

I’m using Hornady critical defense right now. I need to experiment with making ballistic gel so I can do some testing with different ammo. I think more important is going to be consistency with shot placement. Defense ammo is all going to be fairly similar…what matters is if you can consistently put those rounds where you want them to go

I dont know that I’ll be picking one of the new Carry Comp’s up. They are supposed to be releasing another gun this coming week, no idea what it is. YT has been killing me on add revenue and I just blew my budget out till the fall on a few purchases I made this last week. If things pick up a bit I’ll consider it but im really wondering what they are announcing this coming week

I considered it but it’s not available in WA yet. We have mag restrictions and so far SA isnt making one that comes with 10rd mags. Even so, by time I buy one, pay shipping and the local transfer fees I’m in it nearly $800. Unfortunately there are some budgetary concerns there. Spending that kind of money there has to be a certain level of return. Since SA copied the port from Monsoon Tactical it wouldnt make sense to buy and review. Any of the videos on the Monsoon Tactical port will give a good view on what to expect.

So far my testing is going well. I really feel like for the price it can’t be beat. The GX4 Carry is essentially the poor man’s Hellcat Pro…not in a bad way of course. It’s just designed in a way that it’s going to fill that lower price handgun market while doing the same thing as the more expensive version

Thank you. I appreciate it. This gun came to me second hand. I actually bought it from a subscriber so I didnt really want to go into stock sight set up because it came with upgraded sights. The GX4 Carry uses glock style sights so upgrading them is super cheap and easy to find suitable sights.

I think its a great beginners gun that acts more like a high end of mid range gun. For those people not wanting to dive in and spend a ton of money to get a carry gun but still want a good quality pistol.

Im using a McKinatec Talon holster with the option for the Tactical Development Pro Ledge. Thats my daily carry set up

@@Stussy2314 sometimes I use it with the threaded barrel and strike industries quad comp. Different comps may fit or may not but it seems to have enough clearance.

@@Caliboy94 I dont know if mines the best example. It’s ported so the ejection may be a little different, also I only put a few mags through it…I didnt do long term testing. Personally if I was looking for a large window optic for the Echelon I would go Holosun 507Comp. I have two of those and they are my preferred optic on full size guns. This C&H optic is good but it’s no 507Comp. If you are worried about ejection port the 507Comp is the way to go..

It’s too bad the front side of the grip on the metal frame is a shitty polymer insert that rattles and moves all around. The design was poorly executed unfortunately

@@mrgoodkat8567 yes all the metal frame M&P are like that. I really just bought it for the slide lol. The frame is a disappointment to me.

Two major issues with all 10mm guns are mag springs and recoil springs. A lot of companies will put a recoil spring in that is too light for the heavy, full power 10mm rounds so it runs well with cheap range ammo but not full power 10mm. Or they put a heavier spring in and it runs great with full strength 10mm but wont be reliable with cheap range ammo. Similarly many manufacturers tend to run too light of springs in their mags which causes some real issues with feeding. RIA seems to have gone the other direction with their mag springs and my experience is they are really stiff, almost too many coils. It’s great because they are pretty reliable but a pain to load till they are broke in. I would recommend getting a speed loader to help make it easier till the spring breaks in.

I see every comment, I respond to 99.9% as long as they are real comments that can be responded to and not just people being trolls lol. That being said…you probably wont like my response to your question. Cowitness is bullshit. Sure having iron sights as backups is good but I rely on my dot, I trust my dot otherwise I’m not going to have it on my gun. In the event that it goes down and I need my iron sights the human brain isnt going to work fast enough to switch sighting systems like that. I practice here and there with my optic battery removed to simulate my optic going down. The idea is to build the muscle memory and hone the skills of point shooting. That combined with dry fire practice regularly has gotten me to a point that I really dont even need sights on my gun for the most part. People put way too much focus on backup sights. I get wanting workable irons but the reality is they arent as important as people consider them to be. I have a video on the subject that I will post below. As far as what sights to go with, I couldnt say. No I have a red 407K on one of my HCP and a green one on the other. I do have a EPS Carry on my desk thats going to go on a HCP project coming up. I dont want to spoil it but I’ll have a video before summer is up.

Most people would say to modify the slide and just skip using a plate. To me, either one is a good choice. A plate costs $50 and takes a few days to get in hand, modifying the slide costs a bit more (not sure the price) and could take weeks. Either way make sure your screws are torqued correctly and you are using loctite and you should be fine

Before drilling the holster and modifying it did you contact them about the fitment? I’m actually using the Phenom today and my HCP fits great. I mean when it came in the mail it was pretty tight…till I backed off the retention screw a couple turns. Hell I have all 3 models of Phenom for the HCP, one for my M&P and another for a 2011 and they all fit extraordinarily well. I’m curious what GCode said to you about how the pistol fit the holster

Just out of curiosity did you actually watch the video? Perhaps read the description? Im not trying to be rude here but the video is literally about retrofitting a C2 grip onto the older guns like the 2019 Staccato P or its predecessor the Tactical 4.0 which is what I have.

Not in any way that you will notice. I get a lot of questions and comments on my ported guns about accuracy. I think the indoor range that I use for zeroing optics goes out to 25 yards. Within that range I get the same grouping as I would with a stock barrel. This isnt just for the M&P, I have an Echelon and two Hellcat Pro that are ported and they perform the same as before the porting. When I shoot outdoors at various gravel pits I can accurately ding steel targets at roughly 100 yards just like before the porting. 100 yards of course isnt a realistic range for a 9mm. You wont find many situations where you are trying to reach targets that far away but if you do, it shouldn’t be an issue.

I dont really track that, it’s one piece here and there as people ask about different upgrades. Even between this video and now there are several other upgrades that could be factored into the total pricing. Id say in this video there is probably 500 in upgrades not counting optic and light. Thats just a rough estimation and really this gun is just a host for testing new products for the HCP. Pick one upgrade, pick them all…its just a compilation of possibilities for the HCP

It’s definitely a nice gun and has a ton of potential for upgrades and expansion. I would say though, try and find a range with a rental program and get some live fire time with it before making a purchase. Everyone is different. Some people do really well with it, others have issues with how it handles. Always test before spending that money

Thanks for subscribing. I appreciate every sub, like, comment, etc etc. I want to be totally clear my outlook isnt 100% positive on this trigger. Remember…it’s the hardest trigger swap ive ever done. Also along with most other people I wasnt pleased with the reset of the trigger. As far as how it’s holding up I havent shot it a ton since the reveiw. I think maybe 1000 rounds or so. Ive been working on other reviews and the Echelon unfortunately hasnt been as popular in terms of channel traffic as I had hoped. I will be knocking the dust off of it very soon for use as a test gun on some other good stuff. It has stayed reliable and hasnt had any real issues other than a shitty reset. My advice, take pictures of things as you disassemble the fire control unit and take your time lol. Its a pain in the ass

As much as I agree that their add policies are bs…they arent unconstitutional. They arent saying that I cant post gun content, they are just saying that certain gun content cant be monetized. There is of course the question of legal protections that they are afforded by their classifications as a platform when they act more like a publisher. Their argument remains the same…they are only saying certain content cant be monetized. Sure it’s a control mechanism. They want you to self censor in order to earn a living on their platform. It’s not illegal or unconstitutional though. Communist, yes…fascist, yes…pushing the leftist agenda, obviously. We really need to understand the constitution and law in general and watch how we word things otherwise we are throwing out falsities and our position just looks bad.

I havent had any issues with accuracy. I mean mine is a 10.5” pistol so let’s be real here…it ain’t no sniper rifle lol. But I feel like within a realistic range its just as reliable as I would need

For a long time it was that gun, the M&P 2.0….super old video lol. The Hellcat Pro has been my go to EDC for the last couple years. From time to time I will carry my CZ P10C when I want to carry something a bit larger. This M&P 2.0 has been somewhat retired. I still shoot it, its still an amazing pistol but because of what I do with this channel I have to test and carry different guns regularly and the M&P has more than proven its self

I definitely think you can get a better gun at a more reasonable price by buying the polymer 5” M&P and building it out like that vs the Competitor. That Competitor slide looks pretty cool though lol

I just looked it up last night and they unfortunately are out of stock on the brass magwells. Limited edition stuff is tough lol. Im glad I got one while I could. Porting though…that makes this gun every bit what it should have been from the factory

For sure, totally different styles of guns though. I have a love for the M&P that goes back to the 1.0 full size and compact versions. I had both. The 2.0 really brought the platform to a whole new level but these metal frames are kind of a gimmick to be honest. It's not a huge increase in performance. I would actually recommend people buy the 5" polymer vs the Competitor

@@Average_Joe_Arms and at a fraction the cost of the Competitor. Id rather buy the polymer, add the Apex, Floyds magwell and mag extensions and have that gun at that price point then buy the metal frame. Really I just bought it because I needed to test for YT and because im an addict lol

Thanks for sharing. I think the PRP products are good but they arent quite in the “excellent” category for me. The PRP reset on this gun especially needs improved. I do like the trigger shoe and decreased take up though

In order to use a comp you would have to swap over to a threaded barrel so the only way to use both would be to have a threaded barrel ported...which I've talked with Floyds about and they won't do it. I mean they might do it but it's a horrible idea that they don't want to do or have their name attached to. Porting a barrel bleeds off gas which is what helps lower felt recoil. Unfortunately a byproduct of that is that you also lower your velocity. Adding a comp on the end of a ported barrel may reduce a little more of the recoil but at the expense of velocity loss. The gain in recoil management would cost you big time when it comes to how effective your bullet is when it gets downrange. Essentially you would be losing too much stopping power for it to make sense

This packaging is for an early release or prototype of the slide which isn't yet out. The cost of a plastic tube and some foam definitely isn't changing the overall cost of the slide by anything that would be noticed

@@360TacticalSolutions with the cost of many things these days i am ok on certain items not being pretty when shipped as 99 % of the time the package is going to be tosses in the garbage. now with that said if it came in a box with the hellcat print that i can place the complete pistol in when one installs the slide well that's a bit different. great videos been watching all day lol .

@@TriniChiniese I think the primary function on this was protecting the slide from damage during shipping. Im actually curious to see what the final packaging looks like. I know when I ordered a threaded barrel from Springfield it came in a cardboard tube with all the logos and stuff. As long as it gets to me without being damaged then I'm good

Those were a limited edition….and it looks like they are out, which sucks because I have an update video on this gun thats supposed to go up tomorrow where I mention it lol. I would say maybe email and request they bring back brass magwells for the metal M&P. They dont know how much demand there is if people dont let them know. Ill mention it next time I talk with them but its good to come from multiple sources
