I can attest to hearing someone you know getting it on all the time is not pleasant. An ex-roommate/friend of mine would loudly have sex with the guy she was seeing without caring who was in the house. Her own cousin slept in the room next to her which makes it even worse. So, I was a pathological liar for a long time. I lied about EVERYTHING, no matter how inconsequential. It stemmed from living in an emotionally and verbally abusive household where I was constantly walking on eggshells. It was better to lie and placate than tell the truth. I realised around 17 or 18 that it was becoming a problem, it was something I thoroughly disliked about myself. I started going to therapy, challenging myself to always be honest. I can now comfortably say that I'm a far more honest person than I was when I began. I can't imagine not only falling into my lies but PROMOTING them to millions of people. It's just...insane.
