      Hey! Just so you know, Jen luv actually posted a new update video a few days ago about beauty counter. Beauty counter sent out a letter for only the top two ranks saying that they can go to Arbonne and Arbonne will help with their income... Or some weird stuff like that. I think specifically they call that a soft place to land. But they only offered it to their top two ranks, no one else below them

      I do want to point out the irony of this issue w your video on YT- it’s has a parallel with the MLM people in regard to being your own boss. The MLM sellers can loose their entire business if the MLM changes the terms or compensations & there is nothing they can do. The same goes for for people who make a living off of YT/IG/TT- a change to the algorithms can turn a successful channel into a failure, MADE UP complaints by people who don’t like you or are your competition can report you on made up stuff up & basically harass you to sabotage your content. The social media companies tend to side with the complaint even when it’s ridiculous then make it REALLY HARD to rectify issue based on a lie & the creators just have to accept it. Don’t forget if someone is able to hack your account & change your PW. There is nothing you can do & now have all your subscribers & everything you worked so hard to buildis gone in seconds

      I'd love a deep dive info what happened to a company/mlm called Color By Amber. It wasn't huge huge. But they jist suddenly shut down, and if what they were doing to make their products is true. They didn't just rip income away from reps. But they were hiring women in 3rd world countries, giving them decent wages and heath care (I'm guessing that was also unsustainable), but if it's all true, all those ladies in struggling countries, who finally had a regular decent income coming in lost all that too.

    As a former MLM rep (Doterra) I thank you for your content. It still triggers a lot of shame for me sometimes when I watch your videos, but you’re also helping me see my past self with compassion. I was lied to and pressured by my friends to do a “business” even though all I wanted was to use the oils for myself and my family. But my up line put people in my down line and then pressured me and guilted me into doing the business because I had a “responsibility” now…😢 I’m not a good salesperson. I refuse to pressure people into spending money they don’t have, and I refused to leverage personal relationships for profit, so I was not successful. They took advantage of my good nature and my need for income for my family (I was a stay at home mom). Sigh. So much waste.

      here's the thing. To me, there was a desperation and relief in her voice that was heart breaking. When she's talking about the mortgage bonus, at one point she loses her breath, for no apparent reason. It looked to me that was a silent panic attack (I've had them, you 100% lose your breath like someone's just punched you in the guts) I think she was at that point in absolute dire straits moneywise and this company just offered what must have felt like a last minute reprieve from homelessness. And that's probably why she's in a 5th wheel now. The bonus wasn't real, of course, and she did lose her house and probably everything. She's the only one in this video who I even felt remotely sorry for. I don't think she was trying to sell or recruit, I think she was maybe on her last leg and this was the only hope she had left.

    I am a psychologist with a strong interest in cults. Until about a year ago, I had no idea of the enormous parallels between MLMs and cults, and I have found your channel extremely educational. It is one thing to read about MLMs and another to see, firsthand, the behavior of MLMs reps. "in the wild". I suspect that, due to cognitive dissonance, many of these reps lose more money than they admit to because they are embarrassed. The levels of deception in MLMs and cults are many layered and are based upon exploitation. The only people who financially thrive in cults and MLMs are the top of the pyramid or the cult leader. Everything else is smoke and mirrors designed to extract revenue and to exploit free labor.

    • @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley

      Happy more and more people are seeing these parallels as well. I would also add religion to the parallels, too. Notice how most of those yelling the loudest about their MLM's are also usually dropping some kind of religious line (the woman in the video about going to the funeral and thr green sweater woman are perfect examples of this). MLM confrences also usually have a strong religious presence and may even have church services. It's extremely intertwined with a lot of MLM's, that then begin to exhibit cult or cult-like behavior.

      The MLMs exploit those who are religious but not grounded in the truth of their faith (or at least from a Christian perspective). Unfortunately, there are those who view God as a personal “genie” of sorts whose sole purpose is to give them everything they want; therefore, they believe God will make them successful in their MLM. I work a job that prioritizes and teaches safe driving practices and I took a course last week from UC San Diego’s safe driving program where I believe they said the average text takes something like 8 seconds to write and send (apologies if that’s wrong). Then we watched a video of an accident that was caused by distracted driving. They only showed us the first 8 seconds to demonstrate that while it doesn’t seem like a long time, it can be the difference between life and death at highway speeds. When you pointed out that the rep had taken her hands off the wheel and looked away from the road for 8 seconds, I immediately got reminded of the video we watched. It’s the type of imagery that sticks with you… I was horrified to think she was risking not only her life, but the lives of everyone else on the road to yell at her phone about an alleged pyramid scheme.

      Dear Woman in vid at min 42, You don't have to have oils help you get thru a day. I have joy in my heart, not hair, hope in my heart, not on my wrist, and tranquility comes from peace I have and the trauma can be healed. I sound like some kind of Jesus freak. I am not, but I have so much hope from words from scriptures and music that always playing very softly in my dwelling. You don't even have to read scriptures. Just Google scripture art and the prettiest, most meaningful scriptures will be in your heart forever. No oil can do that. It won't wash or wear off and it is free, you don't have to buy it. That stuff is temporary, use it if you must, until you get some pretty scripture art into that caring heart that you have. Buying trauma healing, joy, hope and tranquility via like is a lie from someone who wants your money. I have my own things that I need to get a grip on, like I need to stop going to Target because it's all so cute, but those joy, hope and tranquility words just stuck to me because those are gifts given to you.

      No, doctors don't get compensation for medications they prescribe. The insurance companies mostly dictate what patients can take and if it'll be paid for. That's not to say that some shady doctors won't take incentives from pharmaceutical reps who approach them with their new medication and ask them to push it. There are regulations surrounding this but can also be hard to track. It just depends how ethical the Dr is.

    It seems like the biggest idea MLMs sell is the idea that you'll stick it to everybody who's ever wronged you. By making yourself seem important with more expensive clutter, a relaxing and rich life (which is illusion), and by having all these things, you've somehow become a superior lifeform to the rest of us losers. Then you'll finally feel some self-worth.

      While this is true, and I know firsthand because this happened to me, at least we qualified for EI ("unemployment" in Canada). I tried googling and couldn't find a straight answer, but in the situation of an MLM shutting down, would they even be eligible? According to a reddit thread I saw, being a 1099 contractor in the USA (assuming the same for T4A earners in Canada because they aren't taxed either) doesn't qualify you. In Canada we have an EI program for self-employed individuals but MLM distributors wouldn't qualify for that either. I'm not sure how all of this would apply to the coal miners in your area, but it's just some food for thought, and it's still very unfortunate when it happens. I was fine, because that job was a part-time second job for me, but it did very much affect a few of my colleagues who were relying on that job for varying reasons and it was very sad to watch.

      To some extent this is true, but at least with a typical job you are generally eligible for unemployment, COBRA (temporary health insurance), and if you are really lucky a severance package or other benefits. If you're in an MLM you really are on your own.

Life happens but I had other skills I'd developed that got me another job.

    • @RescueNinjaKris10
      @RescueNinjaKris10 Před 3 měsíci

      @@Svet-Lana2022 because there are no studies to show safety and efficacy of the products. Not to mention it is a proprietary blend so there is no way to determine exactly what ingredients are in the product, as well as the amount each ingredient. With all the issues of people with allergies and sensitivities there is no way to safely determine what might cause a reaction, or if one occurs, they wouldn’t be able figure out to what the kid reacted. And even more importantly there is no idea of how it might interact with any medications and supplements the child might be taking. As a physician it is not only irresponsible to be recommending anything that he cannot verify the safety for his patient. Finally, and most importantly, it is a major conflict of interest that he earns a commission on every sale, so his motivations for financial gain conflicts with his oath to do no harm. Also, by recruiting parents to sell for him to earn a larger commission is actually kinda of predatory and he is risking exploiting a vulnerable parent who is desperate for something for their child that is more likely to have a placebo effect, and potentially have harmful side effects or interactions with medications their child is already taking. And even worse, the business model exploits vulnerable people because statistically less than 1% of people are able to make a livable income, which has been proven over and over again. So just by that alone, this physician is misrepresenting this product and opportunity to his patients. That alone is unethical… but then consider all these other things and it’s just a disgusting grift that most likely isn’t helping beyond the placebo and at worse could cause a severe reaction or medication interaction. I am a registered nurse and over the years I’ve had patients have serious health issues with over dosing on OTC vitamins. Most people think that because they are sold over the counter and just vitamins that they are safe. But I had a pt taking a B6 supplement that also had B12 for energy which most of these supplements have hundreds of times the daily allowance. She was having serious neurological symptoms that they couldn’t figure out what was going on. It was very scary. She had headaches, numbness in her hands and feet, dizziness, and tremors. Turns out her blood level of Vitamin B6 was so high that it was causing these scary side effects. She stopped the vitamin supplement and after a couple of weeks her symptoms improved. The lesson here is that you should not take any additional supplements unless your doctors tells you to. Even a regular multivitamin can have the potential of side effects depending on the patients health status. And when taking supplements recommended by your doctor it’s not a bad idea to get your blood tested for your vitamin levels every 6-12 months to make sure you aren’t deficient or getting too much. Anyway, thats a really long answer to your question about why this is a problem. I am a licensed medical professional with 21 years of experience, and this is not ethical. I am so sorry that this doctor is exploiting his patients for financial gain. He knows that most supplements aren’t verified by the FDA, and there are legitimate 3rd parties who can verify if a supplement actually contains what it says on the bottle, however most MLMs do not use these 3rd parties and customers have to just trust the MLM to be ethical. If there is a proprietary blend as in this particular supplement, thats like blindly taking something that could potentially harm you and you wouldn’t be able to go back to the source to confirm or deny if it was the culprit. As a physician he is aware of all of this and is choosing to ignore his ethics, which tells me all I need to know about his motivations as a physician, and it’s not the best interest of his patients.
