That's good to hear although both have had some difficult periods recently. BA does hold on to its origins. I had scones and afternoon tea on a flight once. What routes did you travel?

The funny thing is I had a brand new 787 next year with Qatar and the day after booking it became an old 777. Another experience and tick on the fly sheet but the first would have been better. We did have a few more stops than you to get to Australia 🇦🇺😂

@@papi8659 we 💙 the seats on BA but yes there is so much space! I can't say this enough but this is one of very few times I woke up from my sleep with the lights on full... Confused is an understatement. My point is highly recommended as a way to fly ✈️💙

Yes to be fair to the age of the product it didn't have any major wear and tear. They look very new. Unlike some airlines who have had their product a few years. I think because we live in a world where airlines are pushing for privacy it's viewed as dated but the seat is very comfortable and the cabin crew fantastic. When did they get rid of the bars?

@@liftoffandtravel@liftoffandtravel In the 70s, the lounges and bars were prolific in the 747, but I think 1991 was the last time we saw the lounge, and I think it was BA, but not sure.

I don't have a review for Ryanair so not sure why you asked why we like them? This is just one of many reviews. We did fly Emirates First and you say we don't fly decent airlines? Who is the 🤔

@@liftoffandtravel almost flew them from syd-akl years ago and canceled the flight/rebooked on Qantas. I have only flown to South America once and it was from california-dfw-mia-buenos aires on american for a birthday trip. ( quite a few years back ) your review definitely makes me keep them in mind. thanks

@@jimbohr that would have been a fun trip. We recently flew the 787 on a 5hr route and once you get over sitting next to someone it's actually not a bad seat. Also the cabin crew are consistently good. Introducing themselves and being polite and genuine. Food isn't like Emirates or Qatar but it's certainly tasty

Have you tried KLMs new product. What are your thoughts?

@@liftoffandtravel I havn't tried the brand new BC in their 777, because KLM mostly flies with 787 to Dar Es Salaam and Nairobi and with an old 330 to Entebbe. The hard product looks very nice. The position of the seat control seems to be in a better position than in their 787. But only because of nice seats an airline will not be the the best airline in the world. The catering is the worst actually. Sometimes only 1 of 5 stars. And I will never be a fan of the KLM flight attendants.

@@marten.travelling.11 I did think it looked very blue but it does feel very cosy and surprisingly private. Sadly the doors haven't been granted a license for approval but they aren't that necessary. The walls are a lot higher than say British Airways.

@@rv2lyon8 it is dated but there is so much space in this product. Not something you get in Business in most airlines. The food could be a little better to but it won't be around much longer.

I noticed Air France do the same but it's left on the seat. I try and avoid this with my partner having done this once. Cabin Crew forgot and so did we. Never saw it again despite trying.

Good points, it's very gimmicky we love it but whether it gets used much I doubt it. Didn't see anyone else try out the swivel feature during the flight. Agree it's an interesting problem. Was recently on a flight where the left arm rest is less than half my arm so it's purpose is really to hold the tray table nothing more.

In honest it's so long ago I'm not sure unless I mentioned it in the video but given how short the flight was it didn't cross my mind. Given all the seats are the same the recline would be poor.

@@doodles3075 schedule changes happen and cancellations are sometimes just unavoidable but always frustrating. Did they offer you a different route or just another flight a different day?

@liftoffandtravel sorry that was supposed to say only did economy with BA as they wanted another £1000 extra each to do premium. The Maldives was done via Tui because it was classed as 3rd party. Tui said we could either cancel and get a refund or change our holiday. We said as we have booked through you, you have to find us another flight, they said as 3rd party they didn't. In the end, they said they could book is with Emirates at an extra £3000! So we cancelled, bareing in mind this was the week a flights went through the roof.

@@doodles3075 I'm glad you messaged use because that was an interesting situation. After discussing this with my partner I believe the issue was because TUI is a charter flight not scheduled and unfortunately has different rules when it comes to cancellations or changes. Sadly this is a reason to not go with them because when it goes wrong you are at their mercy. Also ouch yes £1000 is a lot. I was offered £450 for LAX to London once. Either way jealous, such an amazing destination. I bet you loved the Maldives ☀️ 🌴

@@user-dw8ud2hw5d honestly this was so long ago but I suspect it was suggested by the cabin crew in a very polite way. I have been on flights where while I was gone to the bathroom they were shut without asking. I do appreciate though having been on the route from Doha to Australia that it's a difficult subject. One person decided that they'd had enough sleep 5hrs out and then raised the shade... My god it was bright which woke me up 🔆

@@liftoffandtravel I am flying Swiss from LHR-ZRH-JNB, next month/First from ZRH-JNB, on the A340- first time I will be flying with Swiss. ( South African to CPT ). Although not part of one world, I have a newly created account on LH group for the Swiss Air flights. Eva Air, Vietnam Airlines and Singapore's J class looks appealing. ( I have flown jal and cx a number of times and enjoyed their premium cabins ) It would also be nice to fly the 747 one more time before they all become parked vehicles in a desert.

@@liftoffandtravel despite the various comments from people over the years about the aircraft being old/outdated, it still has that retro appeal. I am looking forward to both the quick business class flight LHR-ZRH, as well ( especially ) as the longer ZRH-JNB first class journey- very spacious looking seats/Suites, and the service, meals and amenities appear to be great. ( hopefully, I can experience the terminal E/International First lounge between flights- I have two hours before the flight to JNB ) hope to see you in an airport one day; that would be nice to meet the person behind the videos!

@@jimbohr totally agree. I recently ended up on BAs old 777 in First and the nostalgia and the blue windows was lovely. Would probably pick the 787 over it though now I've been on it.

@@jimbohr that is a shame. Sounds like the service I received many years ago. Clearly there is still work to do. When airlines like Latam are hitting the right notes with even the simplest of greeting it's not difficult. I admit it's hard to smile when you've been up since 4am though. Interestingly I'm not as keen on the A330 noticed the seats are angled to fit the space. I may fly them again over the next few years and see if this was a one of. Thanks for your comments 👍😊

@@liftoffandtravel How funny- I was up quite early to get to MAD Airport as well. I do try to give airlines second chances, since we all know there are off days in any business. I focus on One World member airlines since I have been an AA Advantage member for decades,. ( I had some great experiences on BA last year on their A380 in the First class cabin, twice, and many exceptional QR flights in Business class, including the Q Suites. Years ago flying Qantas SYD-DXB-LHR on the A380 in First was a nice journey- prime examples that great journeys do exist out there, thank goodness ) Looking forward to more of your videos; they are well-made and informative.

Distant local airport 😂 Good to hear that you enjoyed the A380. The only time BA didn't make the cut was the A350. Slow service caused by that tiny galley. Resulting in wrong meals, a 3+hr service and a cold tea. ☕

@@liftoffandtravel yes, I reside in the U.S. thank you for the heads-up regarding the BA A350...I had a reservation with that aircraft and changed it quite a while back to QR, Business class CPT-DOH-JFK, then an American connection to BNA, for a trip next month. Blessed with First on AA/BA via DFW on the A380 on the outbound, and then connecting on a different airline via ZRH into South Africa.

@@ryvensonic999 not sure if you are familiar with other airline groups but Gold with Lufthansa seems hard to achieve than silver with One World. As a result I've only managed to get silver. @@liftoffandtravel First with LH is still on my list. But at the moment I wait for a new hard product on LH planes. A few LH aircrafts already have the new Allegris Cabin. But they only offer this to North American destinations.

@@marten.travelling.11 that's true, not exactly sure how long it will take. British Airways is still rolling out Club Suite and it's been 5 years 😕 I would suggest trying the old one if you can because it is still pretty incredible. I admit I was surprised how much I liked it.

@@liftoffandtravel Yes, funny story there, I got it in Budapest at the Aeropark in 2022 and on my way back through airport security at Budapest Airport- my bag was pulled as they found a "sharp object", after a search of my bag which turned up nothing- they found out it was a long metal file inside the model of the Ed Force One Boeing 747 model which formed part of the structure... How ironic that I was pulled over in an Airport over an Airplane Model!

@@TheEdmal25 Thank you 😊 Malaysia 🇲🇾 is one of best trips ever. Visited Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Penang. Would you recommend anywhere else? We are more city people but loved being the middle of nowhere in Langkawi 🌲

@@liftoffandtravel oh there's aplenty more to visit haha. Malacca a historical town. About 2 hours from KL city. There's East Coast. states (Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan) where its a little laid back with beautiful islands and beaches ie Perhentian Island, Redang Island and Tioman Island all in the South China Sea. Other than the beaches u could also try experience in the Tropical Rainforest (guided) in Taman Negara (National Park). There's full board chalets with activities for u to lodge and experience the tropical outdoors

@@TheEdmal25 we typically get 10 days at most in a country because of connecting flights etc. How long would it take to visit Prthebtian or the rainforest? We are revisiting Langkawi next year but the North side for a change. Not sure if I can get Brent to walk up the bridge with the hands. He's not a fan of heights.

@@petermcgrath7887 my ticket was booked with British Airways onboard the A380 and then the flight was rescheduled. So I opted for American. As Americans is a One world Airline you should be able to use the Cathay lounge either way 👍
