We have flown on 747s many times, from long ago when there was a bar to the current renditions. Since my husband and I always travel together, the seating has never bothered me. What always concerns me is how well-maintained they were. Your flight looked like a fine one.
Yes to be fair to the age of the product it didn't have any major wear and tear. They look very new. Unlike some airlines who have had their product a few years.
I think because we live in a world where airlines are pushing for privacy it's viewed as dated but the seat is very comfortable and the cabin crew fantastic.
When did they get rid of the bars?
@@liftoffandtravel@liftoffandtravel In the 70s, the lounges and bars were prolific in the 747, but I think 1991 was the last time we saw the lounge, and I think it was BA, but not sure.
Hi there, thanks for the video. 3:01 Condor is NOT part of the LH Group anymore.
Mind blown! Had to Google it. Am I right in saying they were until 2021 when they were bought out?
@@liftoffandtravel LH was a shareholder till 2009.
@@Mario-ch9nl Interesting, I'm learning a lot 😊
Small correction: Condor is not part of the Lufthansa Group. It was formerly owned by Thomas Cook, which went bankrupt, and is not to be confused with the Lufthansa Group's leisure airline Discover, which also has a blue and yellow striped livery. Condor's livery is very distinctive and has been a source of much controversy, and excellent marketing for its new brand redesign starting 2022.
Thank you, yes a few people have mentioned this. Clearly I was the last one to know 😂
Totally agree, I have heard a few not many moan about the livery but I think it's brilliant especially as they decided to go with so many colours.
Truely iconic! 💛💙❤️💚🖤
@@liftoffandtravel But it's an easy mistake to make. After all, Condor was a LH subsidiary for decades. The Lufthansa Group only sold it's last Condor shares in 2009.
@@olfrygt Thanks, I'm not even sure how I missed news articles stating it. Then again it wasn't until June this year that I realised GOL had applied for bankruptcy.
@10:35 AKG are one of the most renowned acoustics & studio equipment manufacturers in the world... ;-)
@10:57 "reesling", not "riceling"...
@11:06 romanesco, a type of cauliflower
Thanks for letting us know 👍 Where do AKG mostly cater to?
@@liftoffandtravel The brand mostly produces studio equipment (microphones, headphones, ...) geared towards professional use. But since they were acquired by Harman in 1994 (which later became a subsidiary of Samsung) they also began producing for a broader consumer market (i.e. at lower price points). For details just go to Wikipedia :-)
Why did you go to the lounge at B44 when your gate was B22? There is a lounge at B24, too.
I'll put it down to not amazing signage. That's useful to know though. Will keep an eye out next time 👁️⌚
