3d is a great help for designer and patternmaking,it makes process faster and easier
Great video
WOW! Exactly what I looking for..!!! Thx for sharing
So i make clothes and ive been seeeing you videos recently Do you make the patterns in here and then get then printed out for real clothes? If so whats the program??
This program is just for designing - itâs called NewArc.ai. It creates a photo of the drawing so you can see what the design might look like in real life, but it doesnât create a sewing pattern. That would be something you would do either by hand on paper or with a digital pattern making software.
Thanks
I love your energy Heidi! đđ€©đ
Thank you!! đ
I liked it, but are the photos subject to copyright?
Nope - theyâre based off your designs and theyâre yours to use as you please.
Just to say thank you!
Thanks Heidi! I saw this video years ago and now I'm in need of it again and is saving my potatoes again (if that makes sense haha) đ
you just saved me, thanks a lot!! :)
It's easy
May I just say... the lighting is really giving "inner glow" đ€©
Haha thank you! I still donât have a great set up in our new (temp) housing but ima take this comment đđđ
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of this software. I canât wait to try it. â€ïž
I guess I don't have an understanding of this. I know how to make illustration, flats, and tech packs not good at it, but know how. I do have a degree in tailoring, my love is making clothes. I actually do have a interesting resume. Sewing for some celebrities, comic-con costumes, three wedding dresses one designed by one of the brides I just made it to here specs, the other I had free rein, costumes for a tv show that season airs next year. But no fashion degree, it alluded me when I was younger. I want to get into making I guess you would call it bespoke clothes, but there is no demand where I live so will have to find clients some other way. There are so many alterationist in our area there is no money in it. Had shop open for four years and well, I'm glad I do not have to rely on it to feed me at the moment.
Love it.
Glad to hear! Itâs a really amazing software đđ
Well produced and easy to follow video - thank you for sharing your talent!
Wow, Heidi! Your content is so unique and honestâŠ.
Aw thank you!!
you are a legend !
As much as selling online on websites like Spoonflower have their drawbacks, I think creating a lot of designs will naturally & eventually make you a better designer, so I think if your goal is more to just get started and get better at textile design, and possibly just get your designs out there (even if it doesnât make sales immediately) it can be a good thing to work on the the long term, or to build up more confidence in your work before becoming a freelancer. But obviously this isnât ideal if youâre wanting to make money immediately
Hi. if i want to download the pattern draft of that blazer how do i do it?
Hello! You would have to draft a pattern yourself. NewArc will create photorealistic renders as I showed in the video, but it does not create sewing patterns. Is that what you were asking?
Nowhere near involved in the fashion industry (and also very late to the party), but I've been looking at Clo3D tutorials just for fun-and binging your channel-and came across Style3D Studio; the CZcams algorithm's at work. It's very similar to Clo3D, so I think it's worth checking out for those familiar with Clo3D. From what I've seen in some comments and sites, Clo3D has more features, but Style3D is better at simulation and has a free library fully integrated into the software. According to their site, not only is there a 30-day trial, but there's also a FREE non-commercial version-remember NON-commercial. Apparently, it used to be $30/month, but the non-commercial version is now completely free with a few limitations-don't know if that'll always be the case, but that's what it's like at the time I'm writing this. The Individual plan is also less expensive than Clo3D at $40/month and $380/year, but you might want to keep in mind that Clo3D has more features than Style3D, at least according to what I've heard through word-of-mouth (word-of-comment?). It's still relatively new, but I just thought I'd share this in case anyone missed it or is interested. I can't say anything definitive since I use neither of these programs, but some videos and sites compare the two if you wanna check that out, and you can check the software out too.
đđđI finished my AS in Fashion Merchandise and Management with the highest GPA. Not even one job offer, I was too old at 30 something. Eventually, I got a job in a complete different field that paid me really good money. Soon I will retire and I planning to open my own fashion business. Finally I will be working on what Iâm most excited about, fashion, trends, fabrics đ.
That is awesome and good for you!! Itâs still quite a tough venture, I started my own brand too! Check my latest video đ
Can a phone do this pls
Yes! Itâs a website - no app, no software, and it works on your phone, too.
Wow
It is very, very cool.
About the price of Clo3D; psst: an Adobe subscription for an individual is 59.99 a month. Iâm not trying to downplay the cost, but considering that itâs a 3D software that can literally help you make, grade, and export sewing patterns, and that your time is also money, I would say worth it. Though personally Iâm waiting to see if I hear back from Browswear indie first.
I canât remember the context and what I said in the video, but if you just get Illustrator, itâs $22.99 a month. Yes, the whole suite is more. And yes, for $50 CLO is quite robust! However, if you compare it to what the whole Adobe suite does - video editing, photoshop, vector, and more, I would say itâs comparable. Just depends on your needs!
@SewHeidi we need a portfolio review from you, please â€
I've been playing in New Arc and wanted to educate myself before I bought a subscription. This is going to be FUN! Thank again, Queen Heidiiii!
Youâre so welcome!!! Itâs a really powerful tool and I know youâll love it!
This should be titled. Why you should not become a textile designer đ
Why?
Thank you for the tutorial I want to start freelancing service. I am having a doubt. What information should I ask for from my client in order to make a perfect tech pack. Is he going to provide me with sample garment measurements, cost sheet, fabric Type, color code etc?
I am re-listening to this episode! I had a discovery call with Jay Tuesday and I've had this deja vu feeling ever since. THIS IS WHY!! lol
Ohhhh awesome, Iâm so glad you connected with him!!
Genius!
Hello Sew Haidi.. I m Iqra Sultan, from Pakistan.. Actually I m also a textile designer and recently I jumped into freelancing in start I have clients but now I don't have a client for work or in Pakistan they don't offer high rates.. Can you help in this..
I have never been more impressed by a tutorial and it is absolutely amazing in all categories: Knowledge, VoiceOver, straight to the point, good flow, articulate presentation. Absolutely amazing Exactly what I did to know, and I was so impressed that I watched it for the second time right after just because WOW! Please make more tutorials about illustrator and other graphic software And thank you so much for this experience
Wow, thank you!!! I no longer make Illustrator tutorials, but I have plenty that you can binge đ Watch for more new content coming soon about other fashion industry topics!
Thank you! I'm learning so many great features! I used to export every file as jpeg and then import into excel lol, used separate files instead of layers and recolored all shapes manually, but this method is so much faster!
Thanks for a great video! I had no idea about the appearance trick
