Theme from "Shane" with images of Colorado, especially the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The backdrop in the movie is very similar to the Sangres. Video also includes images of Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cripple Creek, Manitou Springs and Westcliffe.
LEST WE FORGET

We must not forget what made Britain great. The secret of Britain's greatness was sought by many, particularly during the Victorian era. One foreign prince who asked what this secret was received a Bible from Queen Victoria who told him this Book was the secret. This video is to commemorate the fallen in various conflicts but also to remind us of why Britain is so special. Lest we forget...

The Inspirational Choir - Abide With Me
Watching the movie and heard this song; beautiful! Thank you; much appreciated! 🌝🌝🌝
does anyone have the chord progression to this version, or any tutorials that are close to it?
I weep when I hear Calum sing my mother
My Father used to cry when listening to this. He has now passed and notmany things bring me to tears now I'm 50 - this is truly beautiful and makes me cry. Thank you so much for uploading. I think of him when I listen to this.
This wonderful version of Abide With Me was always played at the short service held prior to the annual Great North Run in Newcastle ,for many years . I used to enjoy these few quiet, reflective minutes, standing with thousands of other runners, on the Town Moor at the start. The service was quietly dropped eventually. A pity. It was good to rediscover this song on You Tube today. Such a great version of an old hymn.
Gran cantante. Saludos desde Chile❤
Would love the English version of this song
The whole universe listening
One of my favourite FisherFolk songs. ❤❤❤
Love calum a Welsh man that was brought up with the gaelic singing I just cry listening to my mother tongue
This is such a beautiful discovery in 2023. I also would like it played at my funeral and would welcome some recent information as to whether this is possible, and where I could get a copy. Really, I should like to see this rereleased as it is so powerful. Thank you.
One of my first memories of the early fisherfolk and Yeldall Manor . . Just as powerful ! . . a simpler time I think. My time @ Post Green was a precious one . . and still informs my life + faith . . I hope Jodi is well and still writing. Love to all who remember that time, keep going!! Chris B 😎
Jodi died a few years ago. During the earthquake in Japan she posted a very beautiful CD Turn me o Lord..with footage of the quake destruction and requesting interest in and support for Japan
@@stephanusferreira9929 . . Hi Stephanie, Chris here. Thank you so much for updating me about Jodi. My heart goes out to Howard, who was also an old friend (we were baptized on the same night as teenagers). If you happen to have any links that would help me hear her music again I would be grateful - it would help ( I believe she did create a CD at some point after our community days in Dorset ) Anyhow, thank you again for your consideration in getting in touch. Bless you, Chris
Beautiful and true.
Further to my last comment about this video may I say THANK GOD that I am now able to confer Black degrees again now that the Covid 19 restrictions are fully lifted. Having said that I am sad as it is nearly a week since our Majesty Elizabeth II was laid to rest as I am writing. One of the images in this video reminded me. LONG LIVE Charles III.👑
This stone is only a reminder you can never be a true monarch pf the united kindom without being crowned in scone.
Have to put this on repeat at least a dozen times
So...oh v beautiful ...cho alainn..dear uncle calum....there will never be another...😢♥️xx

Probably the best version of this lovely song I've ever heard...
Superb
What a wonderful voice pity there are none like this now

Kfjckcl
Breaks my heart. My grandparents would listen to this. God rest their souls.
The Ancestors and Cland of the Great war against Edward Longshanks. Can never forget. Glad it's being told in more than sing. Thanks for doing this video.👍🏻
No equal
Beautifully sung, beautiful imagery and the background pipe music is SO haunting. It made me very emotional as I am a Royal Black lecturer I am missing conferring degrees on new Sir Knights due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Although all 11 Black degrees are very important the degree which this song is based on is the one I remember the most as I was going through the degrees myself.May God bless all Sir Knights and indeed EVERYONE viewing this video in this trying time.
Good work Sir Knight. A great commitment required
@@clivecahoon1774 Thanks Sir Knight for your kind words. I don't mean to sound like a big head but I just thought that I would let you know that I'm an Orange and a Royal Arch Purple lecturer as well. I might sound like I'm OBSESSED with Loyal Order lecturing but I DO treat it as a fascinating hobby which has a socialising element to it. Anyway I'm not into football like most men are so Loyal Order lecturing is my passion instead. Heck I'm even flying over to the USA for an International Black Lecturers' later this year, God willing.
Loving it, sitting here at 2 in the morning with my dram , remembering my auld dad, who loved Calum just a wee bit more than me, God bless you Calum
In the curragh and off we go O'er to Scotland's shores we row And build a chapel there For the Stone Story tells of long ago Jacob slept upon the Stone And dreamed of angels Telling him of the future Brought to Ireland's Tara Hill Where it was named Lia-Fail Then, on to Iona, by MacEarca (Chorus) Then the Scotland kings will reign Wherever the Stone remains Then, the coronations will enthrone And through all who come and go Let nonetake the power Of the Stone So the telling tale unfolds Of kings and queens And days of old And those who would make claim By agression Then the tyrant army came And took the Stone away again They never knew the promise Of succession Leaves are falling Seasons calling Time will wait For the Stone Leaves are falling Seasons calling Time will wait For the Stone
Great Victor Young!
Used to go and see Calum perform when I was in my youth. I have never heard a better voice he truly was the king of the Highlands.
I love this music and the movie Shane. It was in Wyoming though. For those of us that have lived around the faraway hills it is sad that they are no longer faraway. Many many have discovered them and are moving here.
Great music! Cymru am byth!
Full words are on www.bbc.co.uk/alba/oran/orain/mo_mhathair/ And here are the words with translation: thesession.org/tunes/13541 Not all of the 5 verses are usually sung. Usually just 2, perhaps 3, with refrain.
Thank you for providing both translations from Gaelic to English and the history behind it. Much appreciated and a truly beautiful song xx
Hi english class!
Musically brilliant and climactic. Lyrically nonsense, video laughable. Think: Auschwitz, cancer, Aberfan, Dad
Extraordinary to have such a beautiful voice and to have such a history of snide, fraudulent behaviour.
Seriously? I grew up watching and listening to Calum as my parents were both massive fans of his but I genuinely never knew he was a bad boy. Do elaborate because I honestly haven't heard anything wrong about him. Does he have an autobiography at all?
We were accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra of BBC Radio 2 Friday Night is Music Night
I sang this in Portsmouth Guildhall in a School Choir Concert in the 1960s when I was in Junior School we were the Salvation Army Choir the Sunbury Juniors under Captain Joy Webb.
I'm Listening today on Remembrance Day 2019
Headline news back in 1996, England returned it back to the Scots. www.historyscotland.com/history/the-stone-of-destiny-was-returned-to-scotland-on-this-day-in-history/#
The very best this as ever been done.
So great song ever amazing so much thank you love greatly
Mo Mahathir epitomised what is thought about all our mothers and indeed as islanders or Highlanders, our own native tongue.
Calum Kennedy had the most natural, sincere gifted, highland voice ,given recognition the world over for his relaxing style and presentation as a vocalist and entertainer.
So who are the ten eejits who voted this down? Such a beautiful song about our love for our mothers
It's a matter of taste. Not everyone necessarily likes this way of singing. I must say he's not my favourite, but I wouldn't have "unliked" the recording.
Could you upload the 'B' side, "Do not pass me by?" Have been searching for it everywhere!!!
EMAIL me at: roy@royfrancis.co.uk - I use to be the manager of the choir and have copies of the album with this track .
So very beautiful, music to cry to.
