The Piercer Revolver is the first gun found in ULTRAKILL and is the blue variant of the Revolver, obtained in [ 0-1: INTO THE FIRE ]. It can deal moderate amounts of damage with its primary fire and can pierce through multiple weak targets or inflict concentrated damage on single targets with its secondary fire. Hold Alt Fire to charge a 3-hit beam. Requires cooldown. - The Terminal. The Piercer Revolver is railgun-revolver hybrid that uses electric pulses to fire microscopic metal shards at high speeds. The revolver cylinder is loaded with self-recharging batteries instead of conventional bullet cartridges, and the muzzle is a tall, glowing rectangular opening rather than a projectile-sized hole. Located above the grip is an additional battery powering the weapon's on-board display, which indicates the charge state of its alternate fire. The cylinder's chambers and display glow light blue by default, though the color will change to reflect the player's variant palette customization. Primary Fire The primary fire shoots a standard hitscan shot at a reasonably high rate of fire, dealing 1 damage. Holding down primary fire will cause the gun to fire automatically. Hitscan shots have infinite distance and no damage falloff. All stock revolver attacks benefit from locational damage multipliers, dealing 1.5x damage on limbshots and 2x damage on headshots. Alternate Fire Upon holding down, the alternate fire will begin charging. It takes approximately half a second for it to fully charge, and after firing it takes around 2.5 seconds to recharge. Upon releasing, the Revolver will fire a powerful 3-hit hitscan, dealing 1 damage per hit. This means it can either pierce through and kill 3 weak enemies or hit a single enemy for 3 damage, or 4.5/6 damage on a limbshot/headshot. A charged shot can be ricocheted off of a coin, allowing it to gain additional damage. However, instead of a straight +1 damage bonus for each coin, the charge shot will gain +0.5 damage to each of its three hitscans for the first coin, and +0.25 damage for each coin after, for +1.5/2.25/3 total base/limbshot/headshot damage for the first coin and +0.75/1.125/1.5 damage for subsequent coins. The Piercer Revolver's primary fire can still be used during the charged shot's cooldown. Strategy Early on, the Piercer Revolver can be useful for taking out annoyances such as Filth and Drones. However, after the first level, the Piercer Revolver's primary fire quickly loses its usefulness, as there are other weapons that are superior in raw damage output such as the Shotguns and Alternate Revolver and weapons that are better at crowd control and targeting weakspots such as the Marksman Revolver's ricoshots. The true utility of the Piercer Revolver comes from its alternate fire, which has a reasonably short cooldown compared to the Alternate Piercer and has a fairly high damage output when targeting the head, limb, or certain weakspots. It can be used to frequently dish out decent damage from anywhere on the map due to its hitscan capabilities. The charged shot is able to ricoshot, and can do so with greater frequency due to its faster recharge speed compared to the Alternate Piercer. While a 4-coin charged ricoshot is able to deal a respectable 13.5 damage on a headshot, four separate single-coin ricoshots can inflict 9 damage on headshots each, for a potential 36 damage total. It is worth noting that, because this method of dealing damage relies on the same two weapons, it will likely eat up weapon freshness if done back-to-back, reducing style points. When an enemy if preparing to fire projectiles, shooting projectiles right before they are fired will interrupt them, causing an explosion. Shooting rockets with the Revolver will detonate them early. Shooting cores will create a red explosion with doubled damage and blast radius. Revolvers can shoot a Sentry's antenna to interrupt it from firing, and can also instakill Streetcleaners by hitting the gas tank on their back. The other Revolver variants, however, have better and more consistent ways to instakill them. Trivia The Piercer Revolver's charged shot was once able to break the explosion-only rock in [ 0-3: DOUBLE DOWN ], allowing players to skip the first encounter with Swordsmachine. With the "NO WEAPON COOLDOWN" cheat enabled, holding the alt fire and primary fire simultaneously will cause the gun to autofire its charge shot. Hitting an enemy's head with the alternate fire counts towards three +HEADSHOT COMBO stacks at a time, due to the charge shot functionally firing three simultaneous hitscans in the same direction. Firing the revolver advances chambers two at a time instead of one like a traditional revolver, meaning the cylinder indexes through three different positions instead of six. In combination with the tall muzzle, it can be inferred that the revolver draws power from the batteries at both the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions of the cylinder for its primary fire, and it follows that tapping all six batteries for the charged Piercer shot would be equivalent to three simultaneous shots of the primary fire. When holding down primary fire right after the alternate fire is pressed, the charge shot is fired right when the charge is full, rather than when releasing the alternate fire button.
