Wix Gold has never done me wrong. If the Wix I needed was out of stock I'd prefer some other name brand or even the local store brand over something where I don't know who will make it right if there is a problem.

NOT an "O-ring". Custom "L" gasket. Strange. I wouldn't trust it. Too prone to bending as it is tightened. Could leak.

Found Super Auto filter on ebay. Seller says, "Made in China."

Fiber end caps don't fall apart in use. Looks like they would! All the ones over the years I've seen cut open, not a one was apart. So they are actually good.

Wix is the better filter clearly…they’ve changed the design since that build date. The new wix looks like a Hyundai filter clone and is made in South Korea

Thanks for cutting these open... I've always done extended drain intervals with Amsoil and always wondered if the filters were holding up.

That super auto filter looks like something you'd use right before taking a clunker to Car Max. But boy, the quality of Wix has really gone down.

At what point is to many and what point is too few pleates I would think if you have 80 pleates verses 45 I also don't think if a few pleates are spaced or gap wouldn't hurt the filter efficiency just my opinion and with a range of 20 to 30 micron's

I say wix for the win ! Just not happy about cheapining the construction and raising the price ! Also quality control suffers so you really take a gamble on getting a good one ! Great video as always ! 👆👆👆👆

As to the United Nations filter, I have never seen such a flimsy ADV. Would that even function? Nice thick can, but it falls down everywhere else.

I always use oem filters on our Hyundai/Kia cars.

Honestly, I don't know what to think of the latest Napa filters. They seem good but time will tell. It does look like it caught all the soot and carbon so that's impressive.

I used to buy the 1334 by the cases. They were exclusively made in Gastonia, NC until MH took over. The last batch I got was made in China. That was my last batch 😂.

Thanks! I've used that wix 51334 on some applications over the years. Honda 2000 for example and it will also work on some honda motorcycles that have the room. I like the extra media in it.

If only we had the Wix guts inside the Blue can.

The Super Auto are made in China.

Hard no on the Super Auto. I like the Wix design with the base end bypass and coil spring but they probably have changed that design in recent years to change those features.

Great Job, Pete! And Thanks for Sharing Paul from Decatur! WIx all the way, I like upper bypass valve, I wish more filters had it. The Super has all the hallmarks of an Asian made filter, especially the O ring style gasket The Larger, fewer inlet holes, and the shrink wrap around the base end. I like that too, keep the dirt and crap out of the filter can.
