With my Walmart it's a hit or miss with the Ultra, but your right, Platinum is always in stock.

Why run Mobil (Pick whatever variant you want like EP) and is still inferior to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, Valvoline Extended Performance,/High Mileage, Amsoil Signature Series and Extended Life. Mobil since their reformulation and oil filter changes for cost cutting has barely made Mobil1 EP or EP HM middle of the row at best. Their filters suck now and the oil is no longer what they used to be. I know this first hand by oil analysis virgin and used on several vehicles. I found many CZcams oil testing pages that backed up my findings. Mind you, I was a Mobil1 EP and EP HM fan boy for most of my life and very disappointed when I found out how much better the oils I listed above are so much better in quality and protection. I have 7 vehicles that I service myself that are our personal and work vans. The results are in the testing and not guessing. Just food for thought. Your engine your choice.
And the only filters you should be using are Amsoil EAO, Fram Endurance (Walmart only - top of the line and same as Amsoil identically), These are made by Champion labs and the Purolator Boss is made by Mann & Hummel. These are the best filters made on the market.

Filter wise I'm running Pureone or Wix, I do have a few premium Guard EL I'm going to use next time

@@ssalzillo1 If you are going to run Purolator then get the Boss for a few dollars more. Better synthetic filtration media and WIX XP is the same filter as the Boss from Mann & Hummel. They One and regular Wix is a different design and filter media.
But Ultra Platinum specifically not just Platinum as that is far less fortified. And Valvoline the EP HM is their very best oil without being high mileage. Amsoil signature series is the leader with the EAO or Fram Endurance filter, but Amsoil is twice the cost. It depends on, are you going 300k miles on your engine or you just change it more often then Pennzoil Ultra or Valvoline.

Two HVAC work vans Dodge and a Ford using whatever I have bought at the time on the shelves.
I do 2500 mile changes on the two high horsepower cars.
Motorcycle every 500-750 miles because it’s hard hard miles
6000 on the Hybrid and Grand Cherokee.
5000 on the work vans.
But filtration is just as important. I will post a video of actually testing of filters and oils, under laboratory conditions.
I do Blackstone Oil analysis every other oil change. I can go further based on no contamination or fuel dilution plus TBN are still usually in the 3-4 range, but oil is cheap and engines are expensive and want them to last.
But I just know that Mobil1 was bottom tier on several tests now when 10 years ago only Amsoil could stand with them. It’s a shame.
Castrol Edge Extended Performance is current being tested in a 2017 Yukon with the 6.0 liter. Not my vehicle but I do the work. So virgin and used oil has been sent but it takes over a month these days. So I can truly compare it from real world usage.
Great tip. I do Valvoline drive through cause I don’t know how to change oil also my care case a little different. Do you think synthetic is best?. My car is 8 cylinders. Thanks
