The RS02 is not suitable for welding mandrels. This is exclusively for belts made of polyurethane. The RSX01 was developed for mandrel splices. You can find all information about this at: www.mandrel-welder.com/

I'm a plumber for 35 years and to be honest there are faster and more efficient ways to connect plastic pipe. This is impractical to actually apply this in the field (laughable actually). That being said, it's always good to push new ideas and boundaries to further our applications.
This machine is not designed for joining pipes. The RS02 is specifically designed for splicing polyurethane belt profiles. These belt profiles are used in power transmission and conveyor technology (e.g. food applications or intralogistics).

The machine is for welding profiles made of polyurethane. If the seals are made of this material, it would work.

What is an actual use for this tool im genuinely curious.
This tool is used to weld PU belt profiles. These belts are used for industrial transport and conveying applications, e.g. conveying light goods in the food industry (cheese, sausage) or in intralogistics. The tool welds very quickly and, above all, very reliably. This means that there are no long downtimes in these applications.
If i ever need to buy a friction welder ill call you guys up haha. The more you know.

so basically, your just melting one piece of rubber/plastic onto the other end of the same material and letting it cool, its legit no different than using a lighter to do the same thing but its much better at doing it but takes more steps.

A tool like this in a place like Amazon/UPS/FedEx distribution likely pays for itself the first month. Not sure what replacing an entire conveyor belt / pulley costs, but it's likely a lot less than this tool.
