    this looks like it would be quite a convenient tool for binding belts together. At my shop we made something similar, consisting of a locking clamp with steel plates welded on the jaws, and holes drilled thorugh them to stack another plate on it. then we'd screw them together with the belts clamped between and use a heat gun to melt the ends and then lock the clamp in and wait to dry. the whole process only works half of the time because of misalignment. this tool is great, because it does that all so much better.

      For that application it might be possible to design a tool that uses ultrasonic frequencies. That way the translation is kept low but the energy is maintained high enough to generate a weld. A tool like this would be expensive due to the engineering needed to optimize the piezo-crystal and horn.

      The tool welds very quickly and, above all, very reliably. This means that there are no long downtimes in these applications.

      For process-safe welding of polyurethane profiles, the temperature should be between 275°C and 295°C.

    why is this better than heat welding?

    • @BEHAbelt
      @BEHAbelt  Před 3 lety

      It requires no heating time and no additional guide clamp. The precision clamping jaws prevent laterally offset weld seams. No danger of fire. The speed-controlled frictional heat guarantees 100% welding.
