Why are there no subtitle options in the video?

That staircase is absolutely stunning.

I can only imagine how happy the family member that left the inheritance for them would be to see them invest it so wisely. The other house was falling apart, and physically unhealthy for them to live in at that point. So, the freedom to move around, spacious rooms, tons of natural light and energy efficient on top of that - what a joy. Couldn't be happier for them and their builder - he has put together a great team and tremendously efficient process.

Lincoln- their Architect, ….dreams of another client like this couple. 2 people (or rather, one who seems to be taking the other along for a ride,) who have clearly stated they are using a personal tragedy to justify their garish behemoth. I enjoy the creativity and invention produced in these episodes and this couple is absolutely and completely entitled to have as many mortgages as they possibly can get to invent their own creation. Who doesn’t love a ‘they nearly died so now they are truly enjoying living story’ but…. at what cost!? I found this episode of ….’pissing money into the wind because you only live once’ sooooo hard to watch. It’s so hard for me to watch a “look at me” project like this one. It’s ironic that they’re building a massive space to entertain people ……he is an accountant! Haha reminds me of the joke…”what does an accountant use as a prophylactic? …….their personality!!!

They really missed a trick in not using smart glass in the TV room. To be able to go from frosted walls to panoramic views at the flick of a switch would have been wonderful.

I absolutely LOVE this episode!! This build felt more like real life to me. Warm fuzzies all around!!! So very down-to-earth & affordable. Plus - it's GORGEOUS!!! And the VIEWS are TO DIE FOR!!!! While I also enjoy watching the other builds which are bigger & fulfilling of people's dreams, those price tags just aren't realistic for me. Although I very much like dreaming about building big, those builds come with a result of a bit of detachment w my feelings bcuz realistically, I know that's NEVER going to happen for me. This family jumped in feet first, and figure it out as you go! Which is something I often do too. I get it. I'm very happy it has all worked out for them! And best of all - they still have (at least a tiny bit) of savings in the bank!! Good On Them!!!! They're living the DREAM!!!

It is a stunning house. The table and the bathroom floor are gorgeous. It isn't my style but I can appreciate the uniqueness of the design. The views are beyond beautiful.

I love that house. What an amazing feat.

I like it. The Cor10 reflects the brick walls and red-brown of many of the town’s roofs and is a definite nod to the industrial past of the town. Imagine if they did a gleaming steel or aluminum thing; that would really stand out and wouldn’t fit at all. With this, they get modern architecture but it’s not garish like some modern structures would be in a traditional small town. This fits in much better than a lot of other options.

Charming house. Be interesting to know if that butterfly roof remained water tight.

I don't understand having full length windows on the front of the house for the bedrooms/bathroom. They need screening of some kind for privacy without having to black out the windows on the interior.

I don't think the architects could have done a better job. By selecting a neutral, warm brick color they didn't compete with the existing older construction - helps calm that block and transition to the natural vegetation at the end, as well as show what's possible on a narrow site. Her master suite area is gorgeous and the kitchen is truly the centerpiece of the space....it will all be well loved/used. Only thing I could think to add is a dumbwater system to help get groceries, etc. up to the higher floors (and down) safely.

I love this episode! It is so revitalizing when folx can keep parts of an older structure and then blend it with modern lines and updates. Wonderful!

Would really love to see this building with gardens completed.

Wasteful kip. Not appealing. This is a design show and that is a poor design in every way.

learnt a lesson from this episode, that one should have a bit more confidence in LOCAL market than always complicating things by having high expectation from others.

I'm glad that we live in south africa, they cannot tell us what colour paint etc that we have to use on our house. Maybe if you live in an estate then they have control over you as you have to keep the look the same.

there is NO way I'd ever want to live in that... thing?!!?! But I applaud the audacity. I would not have accepted the design - yet there it is glorious even as I would not want it... The delight of this show is that it brings me authenticity and richness AND clarifies for me the things I love - bravo all the way around... And if you invite me for a cocktail party this house I am there in a heartbeat applauding you and your home... But lock up the keys to those cars cause I am for sure gonna try to go for a ride!

Cozy can be subjective, if it’s not cozy, for you don’t live there and as for the husband, I feel like he has enough self-awareness that he’s capable of growth and changing unlike some people. Would I live there probably not, but I find it very appealing and attractive
