Wife wanted a planter, and I wanted to play with my 1mm CHT nozzle :) So I used this awesome model base found here: www.printables.com/model/891526-polygon-planter-wrap-around-plate and then I designed my own planter that would print good with vase mode and that big nozzle. Experimented with Fuzzy as well. Turned out pretty cool. Wife is happy, happy wife = happy happy me :) Printers: -full Vz2...

How to shake a 3D printer in to bits
Hi. Have you tested the filament sensor yet? The problem I have is that the jam sensor is constantly active. I tried different settings for the connection pin, but the situation did not change. Does this sensor work correctly for you?
I need to print a few of these as soon as my bambu PETG HF arrives. Thanks for the overview and your experience. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it (probably by now), but filament even fresh out of the package isn't necessarily dry. So for any filaments tempermental to moisture absorption like PETG or TPU, I dry them even fresh out of the package. Thanks for posting! Checking out the rest of your vids. 🙂
Why is the 0.9 tested at SCV 10 and the 1.8 tested at SCV 5 ? Just curious. Thanks.
Hi cant find the Ptfe adaptor alloy link thanks
When disabling the driver, it is recommended to use the enable pin of the driver and not cut power. I know this is an old video but maybe this helps someone :)
Any way to upsize this printer to 350mm x 350mm or 500mm x 500mm build plate?
One can also use this to render a monitor's screen with whatever picture you want. Say the desktop of windows, an image of that. Apply it to a custom emissive appearance and then apply it to the face of the monitor's screen area. Also, if one is thinking of adding light illumination to the printer, either at the printhead or around the enclosure etc. One can do it with this function as well, so one can get a preliminary idea of how the light will be cast on to the surface and it's surrounding parts A nifty approach indeed!
“Going to start very slow at….. 300mm/s” meanwhile my printer sweating bullets at 300 😂😂😂

Is it just the Extruder water cooled or all axis?
water cooling is extreme for me but do you think a basic cooling with aluminum heat sink does any imprvements for torque / precision on 10-20K ish acceleration or does it allow more acceleration?
@@ywsyildiz at decent speed and accel, they are fine with no cooling
@@Vez3D thanks for reply. actually im trying to upgrade stock ender 3 pro with stock steppers. i can reach 9k accel with pom wheels with gates belt. wondering cooling would be an improvement while using it with 15k+ accel on linear rails. Btw do you planning to building a precision focused machine without vfa and ringing. That should be completely different setup compared to rapid printing ones
@ywsyildiz the only way to get more speed is to give them more amps and voltage.. thats where cooling is useful

yaaa how about that 200 hour life on the motors? I would go through 30 motors a month. lol
@justbecause4994 yeah i didnt see that. Maybe not a good option then haha.
Vz Filguard detector sensor link reaches a dead end....mellow does not respond in discord for information
Another useless 3D printer part? Why not just install two feeders sequentally? I have such setup and it works flawlessly. But I use in only because I print PA66-GF30 - it's very very stiff and it's very hard to pull from drybox through long bowden.
@TheNamelessOne12357 that works too. And might be a better option. I like the belay from Annex. But its good to have other options like this standalone device. :)
I don't like that it exposes the material to moisture at the tube connection. And it still puts tension on the filament until it trigers the extruder. It should continuously be running the extruder to keep the material floating.
ercf can do that too
I would be curious as to why now a days he is no longer using ODrive
@BrianVoelker because I wanted to run the same config as what the official printer runs for everyone. And developpe arround it. That way, people seeing my prints can do the same since I run the same hardware. Also, at that time I had a bit of artifacts issue with the corexy config with the servos fighting each other in oscillation to keep their position. This was due the encoder not have enough resolution I guess. Now they have higher encoder resolution which i think would fix the issue. But the setup is still far more expensive than running steppers.
@@Vez3DAmazing answer! Thank you! It was rare at the time to see someone use something other than steppers so i was just curious about it. Would make a great video to do something with them again. but im sure there isnt that much benefit.
since my spool has problems rotating easily on the spool holder, I have problems extruding TPU on my vz235. would this thing help with that?
@@4u7BassXX maybe yes
They must have something wrong on the description/pictures...They state "200 hours motor life"
Is there any impact from damage from the drive teeth? I’m concerned that you no longer have pristine filament entering the extruder. Also, they say the drive motors wear out and need to be replaced. How often? I’d love to see a full review.
Is there any documentation on how this works or should be installed? Very cool idea!
@@pantwearer its just plug and play. Give it 5v and it will work
Does the additional teeth marks affect print quality? It doesn’t look like it uses vzbot extruder gears. Maybe the melt zone on the Goliath negates any affect the teeth marks have.
@Brocknoviatch i think its actually a good thing. So you you double up the teeth bite.. and they might not necessarily match the extruder teeth. Sk the more marks you have (lets call it higher mark resolution) might be a positive impact where you have a more consistent filament
I made my own filament zero tension setup which replicates the industrial steel coil unwinder at the press line. My one has some advantages over this design as it rotates the whole spool and the shaft the spool sits on has got one way bearings so in case of electronics failure the spool will still be freely rotating so the printer will still be able to pull the filament if motor stops anyway. There is a dedicated watchdog microcontroller that stops the motor if it rotates non-stop in case of filament tension probe failure. I build the setup for the sake of using 3kg spools that have a huge momentum of inertia.
got the build notes on it?
@@Zzafari7 I guess I described my build as well as the principal it works up on quite well in the above. There is nothing special was used in there: -Arduino, -Accelstepper library for soft motor start/stop. -TB67S109AFTG cheap stepper driver, - ATTINY85 as a timer that restarts every time when the motor starts spinning and triggers a stepper driver power cut-off relay if the motor doesn't stop within the time set -a NEMA23 stepper motor with 50:1 planetary gearbox.(the most expensive unit) a pair of one way bearings The chassis are made of : -the base - 18mm MDF - chassis itself is two pieces of 60x60 t-slot extrusion attached 90deree to one another. the rest of parts such as a spool hub, a nut? a probe arm, a filament guide ETC were printed from ABS. The trigger switch I used is some type of microswitch. I think it's more than enough for you to go ahead with.
I've built mine, too. It looks promising! But I need to find out where to connect and how to put it into Klipper :-B
Great idea.
Looks interesting, but wouldn't this add extra gear tracks? it's also not likely it's aligned with the extruder gears.
Whats the point in this? Does it work with mmu?
im not sure how it would integrate with a mmu
No. Thank you.
What’s your thoughts on it Simon? Seems like it might be a bit overkill no?
its just a trash
seems to be working good for me. It allows the extruder to focus on just pushing/extruding filament, and avoid wasting power on pulling the filament from the ptfe tube and spool holder. In my case, my drybox is not super free spinning and it requires a bit of power to pull. so it just helps the extruder and you have more power. The Bambu X1C has that kind of feature and it really helps
@@MRX08024 I think its nice :) like on the bambu X1C, it realy helps the extruder
@@Vez3DThere are already normal open source projects like belay that work much better than this. Vez, I love you, but mellow ruined you in my opinion.
@@MRX08024 Such a weird thing to say.
I put these in my Voron and I‘m still not shure at what current to run them. They seem to need at least 1.2A or they will stall. But even then they get really hot to the touch.
@timha4102 i run them at 2.4amp but i watercool them. With no watercool you can run them easy at 2amp (if your driver allows for that)
@@Vez3D Thanks! I just realised that my93W power supply is not enough to run them at those currents. I‘ll need to get a 200W version.
