They're great to take out in the wilderness camping as long as you have a 15000KV generator and 15 jerry cans of GAS to keep it charging. The hum a generator drowns out the crickets at night when camping, so pleasant

My 2021 Ford power boost was doing the exact same thing. 20,000 miles in gas and 1200 miles in Electric over its life is not worth the Drama ..Traded in on 2024 F350 diesel 4x4. They're gonna be the best looking things in the junkyard.

So…the lesson here is, if you’re taking a long road trip with an EV, bring a charger and an extension cord that you know will work, and understand where your charging options are along the path in case your battery runs out due to unexpected weather/load. If you only daily drive your EV within the limits of your home city…this is probably not a concern.

Tip for anyone interested in an EV. If you are planning on only keeping the vehicle for a short amount of time an EV is not for you. They depreciate even more than internal combustion vehicles. As long as you’re not planning trips over 120 miles away it’s not that bad. The electrical infrastructure needs a lot of work but it’s improving. City driving is the best when it comes to EV’s. I drive to work a round trip of 120 miles and my Chevy blazer ev is perfect it’s already saved me money.

why do you need an app to plug in a cord?

When you factor in horrendous depreciation, time lost charging abd range anxiety. Are EVs really more economical than ICEs? I think not.

I’ve put a deposit on a 2017 Model S from a BMW dealer and it had free supercharging as per the previous owner. They don’t know anything about Teslas at all. But I noticed when I go on the charging screen it just says please add a credit card. I think the old Owner reset the car or something. Does this mean the free supercharging is gone? Will appreciate your help! Deal closes Friday

I love my Tesla ev I drive 70 miles daily and get free charging at my work. I just don’t like using my ev for long driving specially with my family. I used my gas vehicles V8 instead..

This is called the EV learning curve! I drive a bolt EV it is the best car i have ever had! I did a roadtrip from San Antonio To Missouri to Tennesee and back. We had a great time and the chargers are fine once you get past the learning curve. I wish you the best luck with your ev!

I wanted one really bad. But first I took a trip to Key West and noticed that there was practically nowhere on the island to charge. Then when I got back and went to the dealers all the local dealers had marked them up almost $20k over MSRP. That was the nail in the coffin. I wasn't about to pay almost $80k for a vehicle that will be inconvenient to power. So.....I went down to the Jeep dealer and bought a Gladiator Mojave. Is it fuel efficient? No not at all. But at least it's fun and only cost me $60k 🤷‍♂️

I paid $54k for a mid level trim model with the small battery. 4200mi on it and no issues. I live near a public charger and leave it overnight 2 times per week to charge. I’ve paid close to zero in fuel costs so far. We use this as our main family car and for running all errands. The truck really is amazing to drive. But at .35¢ per kWh in my state this truck would probably not be cheaper to run than gas. The free charging saved me from regretting my purchase.

I love my Lightning. I did get my charger within about 2 weeks of purchase. You also 250 KWH of Electrify America charging for free.
