How to fix your bike. Stories and tips from Dr Cranky's Bicycle Hospitals.
Replacing tube, removing and remounting tyre using ReHook Tyre Glider
Tight bicycle tyres are sometimes difficult to remove and remount on the wheel rim. Using two tyre levers is a pain and you can risk pinching the tube and causing a puncture I tried out a new tool and it works a treat. Note that I purchased the ReHook tool and was not paid to review. Just giving my opinion and showing how it works.

What psi does it pop
Can be as low at 40psi. Depends on the size of the "bubble" that forms in the tube outside the tyre.
My pump stuck in the fresta tube. What should I do?
Once pushed it in all the came out and it wouldn’t pump it in!
Happened to me today. Yikes. Question, when I installed the 2nd tube I noticed the tire was coming off the bead again so I deflated the tire, reset the bead and slowly pumped it up. While pumping up the tire was making some wierd noises, almost like it was going to pop off again, but the tire stayed on the rim with no signs of coming off. I managed to inflate fully but I’m paranoid it’s going to explode while riding even though it looks perfectly fine. Any thoughts or suggestions on testing the bike?
What if it happens and tube and tire is finely tucked in place could rim be bent😊
yes, a bend or damaged rim can have the same result.
The air comes straight out through my pump quicker than I can pump!
This could be a hole near the valve in the tube. Or your pump is not correctly sealed on the valve.
I tightened the part with the allen key... but it's still loose? 1:34
Just fixed my bike! Thank you!!
There you go!
Bro i did this but it just loosen back should i change the bolt on it pls reply?
I would try loosening the bolt completely and greasing the threads then refitting and tightening.
@@DrCrankysBikesforKids Your a W made this 3 years ago and answered me today thx

Glad it helped
Cheers. Happy riding.
A big help thnku
L this did no do shit
Thank you. I built my bike and never knew how to check it and then fix. I appreciate your help.
How do you deflate a tire that's the valve cannot be moved at all
But what do I do if the bolt is completely tight and the handlebars still turn?!?!
Hi I have had a bike of my mate and the tire was low..so I put 40 psi (20 in wheels) and hours later the inner tube blew out. I have since replaced it with a new tube and this one has split where the valve is glued. What's the reason for this as I've been working on my bike for years on and off ? Thanks
I would check that you've got the right valve for the rim (don't put a presta in a schrader valve as it could split on the rim edge hole). Then check the tyre for splits or glass/wire. And then make sure the rim tape is intact so there are not sharp edges including on the inside of the rim wall. Good luck.
Great video, just what I need. I was about to give up and buy a new inner tube.
Glad it helped1

Great! Fixed my bike today. Thanks
No problems
I just got my new bike and i had thus issue, it is of a great use thank you ❤
Thanks
shii thanks a lot man
Im 3 inner tubes in now the 4th one just boomed on me on a ride wtf......i made extra sure to seat the dam thing with a new tire i think the rim is bent or bad (in my case) and the worst is it caboomed in front of everyone in the park
Sounds like the rim. Sometimes the tyre can be slightly too big so it won't seat properly. Or the rim is damaged or slightly small. Seems most likely you have a problem with the rim.
@@DrCrankysBikesforKids I'm going to glue that s.o.b on there lol
Hoping I can fix mine. After 20 years I decided to finally raise the stem as much as possible but found it stuck after loosening the bolt, so I tapped with a hammer and raised it, and have a good snug. About 40 miles later it came loose so I really tightened it, only to have it basically fall out. Looks like a lot of rust and a cracked tip on the stem. I'm hoping a good cleaning and maybe a file will allow it to move as needed to bite again
I'd suggest getting a new stem bolt assembly from your local bike shop. Not expensive and will be reliable.
Thank you so much, you just saved us from sending stuff back thinking it must be broken!!!!
glad it helped.
You just proved my wife right, and now I'll never hear the end of it. hahaha
It has, hasn't it? You are right! I have been trying to air it up with a mattress pump. I am in middle of nowhere. I could have sworn that I got air in the other tire. I pushed it in while applying so much pressure. I have rolled it around in side also. Hey, I'm 57. I had a husband for 30 years. He was a Marine older than me. He did those things. My, grown, son is in the area I left. I'll be back to let u know. No hardware store here. Amish area. I don't know anyone. I have 3 bicycle pumps at my homestead. I forgot them. I will make sure I get next week. Ty
Thank you, it helped a lot ❤❤❤
Just today was commuting and then boom I go flying off my bike and break my kneecap. 🤣
I just don't understand why they can't just make a valve that has a locking screw to prevent it from sinking 😂

Thanks u helped me much more than I could on my own 👍
I tryed to pump my tire up and it was down but I'm seeing why it going down after coving my tire whole
How about when your handlebars are tight but the wheel still moves side to side?
Good question. That could be the axle of the wheel (tighten the bearings) is loose or the wheel nuts are loose (tighten the nuts). On suspension forks it is sometimes the play in the fork, especially cheaper or older ones.
Hindi naman po gumana
What tool is it?
6mm allen key
Answered my question. Thanks.

They are the most pointless invention ever.
not the most pointless i'd say
Mines like the 2nd bike but still won't tighten. What could it be
Sometimes you have to take the whole stem out and put grease on the threads so they can tighten properly. I have another video that shows the process. czcams.com/video/pyB79V0fhd0/video.html at about 2:18.
Niice you’re the man!! thank you 🎉
