Try a larger tire such as a used truck tire or fat machinery tire for rocks. If you can find a logger, their tires are super wide and not terribly large in diameter.
Ok, this tool look game changer. This is so cool to see how you’ve created it ! I definitely will never be able to do it myself, but if someone what to do it for me, I could buy it 😍
What about using chip foam instead of clothes?
one of the best 3D printing videos ever for those in humid climates. Thanks
Man what i could do if i had my own wood shop..
excellent guidance thank you. 5/16 = 7.3975 mm, i apply bulb grease, clean all lamps with alcohol and test before reinstalling assembly.
Thank yo.
You're welcome
Hi . Great video.. how do I get the plans. What is the approx cost to build this paint booth? Thanks!
Thanks!. In the description I have links for the plans. The price varies per location but it is around 80 dollars these days for me.
Looks great. I think you could make a few spacer pieces instead of all the internal measuring and marking to make it easier and more foolproof.
That's a great idea, thanks!
You can always re-true your squares - it is simple, that's the real story. iGaging is "okay." I own a few, plus a couple Starrett squares. When buying iGaging, do the research - not all their squares have accuracy claims, and at the resellers, the claims run from, .002 to .005. so check it out. As far as boxes? Starrett does it right, no unnecessary contributions to the landfill!!! WTF
Yeah, re-trueing your square is super important and really the only way to know that you are still good after even just a bit of use. Thanks!
I like the ones that auto lock, and you push the button for them to retract.
Oh, yeah that is a really nice feature.
Just don't mop the floors.
Yeah, clean floors are the worst!
Somewhat awkward framing of the first shot with the two of you. 😅
Yeah. We are pretty different in height. I thought it would look super weird and funny to frame like that. Thanks!
@@BuildItMakeIt Don’t get me wrong. I thought it was fun. Great build, too.
very nice project, it fits all sizes!!
Thank you! 😊 This one was super fun to build.
this may be great with my crossbow
The Wire taught me everything I need to know about power actuated nailers.
I agree the Hilti DX 460 MX is truly the Cadillac of nail guns.
I personally would solder mesh with soldering iron and a few tin drops. Nevertheless, thank you for informing about activated alumina. Subscribed + new to 3d printing
by the way, it is cheaper in Ukraine to buy alumina tube instead of vacuum cleaner tip/adapter/air intake
That is a great tip. I couldn't find a local place for just a small peice of tube.
I always wondered why 2x4 strips arent added to the back side to prevent the wobble so that its braced. It would be easy and cheap to do.
Because later in the video I screwed it to the garage to get rid of the wobble. This was done to minimize wood and once screwed to the garage the cross pieces wouldn't add any more rigidity.
I don't know. If you'll see this comment or not, but when you said brake lights being out, does that mean the third brake light also cause mine's out and my cruise doesn't work LO😅
It depends on the vehicle, but I would fix all the brake lights first before going onto the other options to fix the cruise control.
I ordered the layout square set - the larger 12 inch square was off by over 1/8 of an inch. Totally unbelievable after paying 135 CAD for the set. Treid calling dealing with thier customer service but they spoke very poor English/Chinese. I wouldn't recomend this product or company
Thanks for the info that is a real bummer it being off by that much. Crazy.
You have to already have a flat surface to build a flat surface. Well,if I had a flat surface, I would not need another flat surface.
You don't have to already have a flat surface. You can use two jointed boards and a laser level to get a flat surface. It is hard to do that though when making a giant torsion box of this size.
Every consider printing in PC-CF? I print spool centers, AMS trays, and AMS inserts. This way I dry it in a convection oven at 115-120 ºC for about 4 hours container and all. Fill with your choice of desiccant.
That is a really cool idea. Thanks.
Just made one of these and have one suggestion. The uprights that hold the connectors for the bearings are far too thin and break really easily. I fixed it by super gluing a popsicle stick to the outside.
Thanks for the info! They should just barely fit inside the cereal containers which gives the strength to the print and maximizes space for the rolls. There are other designs that are meant to be free standing.
abs, a/c , cruise control fuse kept blowing. It was the 7 prong trailer connection just wanted to share, I haven't seen no videos out there showing that it was the seven prong connector. it took me a few days to figure out hope this save somebody some time.
Wow thanks! That is the first time I have heard about the trailer connection. I bet it was the same circuit at the break lights since the trailer connection will pass the power for the trailer brake lights.
This might be a little bit better than Fillament Bunker V3 because of those side horns to ensure the roll doesn't slip off
Thanks, I appreciate it. The filament bunker v3 is also a good design. They both have their pros and cons.
I found 2 spools one from IC3D and Jessie's Premium (both from printed solids) that do not fit inside of this. The spools are about 20.5 cm (~8 inches) in diameter. The width of these spool seems to be the biggest problem, they are 7 cm (~ 2.75 inches). All the rest of the spools are from Bambu labs and they print and store in there perfectly. Thank you for the tutorial and the files. Do you have one for larger spools?
Thanks that is good to know those ones don't fit, but also a bummer. Sorry I don't have one for larger spools. I recommend printing a free standing base and putting it in a larger container for larger spools.
LOL the amazon box, neat trick
Thanks :)
I've been looking for something like this for 4 years! It's perfect! I have questions about purchasing the blueprints and materials etc. Can I email/DM you with some questions??
Sure.
I like this design because you can use any type of cheap boards from any local store. You could use even polystyrene that should be much cheaper than what you used in this video.
Thanks! Yep, I have done a target with polystyrene and it works as well.
Isn't it heavy? What if you use bean bags filler? would that be enough for stopping ..maybe with a few pieces of cardboard in between. I did not see the price for it. I think this form of target only works in you area. For me the foam boards are quite expensive. It much cheaper to actually buy a foam target from an archery shop.
Yes, it is quite heavy. I am not sure if bean bag filler would be sufficient. You could make a small target and see if the arrow penetrates. I know plastic bags work if they are compressed enough, plastic is what a lot of similar commercial targets use as the filler.
I have some sunken floor joists in my old house. I’m thinking about building these in my basement and also using them to raise and straighten the sunken floor joists to help level out my floors.
That sounds like a great idea.
Use pla pla carbon it prints fine
I do like pla carbon fiber, but it doesn't hold up to water or outside usage for me over time. I also really like ASA carbon fiber filled. That gives me the durability for outdoor prints I like.
Instruction were unclear. I shot my 120lb compound bow through the target, penetrating the fence. I haven’t seen my neighbour in 3 days.
Comment unclear, are you blind or just really bad at hide and seek?
Powered actuated any time! Faster, cheaper, less work.
I man after my own heart.
Thanks for the post. I made one of these. Works great! I used cut up sections of old carpet as filler. It required a lot more adhesive than I expected. I used 5 tubes.
Oh wow, that is a lot of adhesive, but glad it worked out. Carpet is a great idea.
i know i'm a bit late to comment, but i really like shellac on my mdf shop surfaces. not as hardwearing as some other options, but easy to apply and repair, just don't drop your rag covered in denatured alcohol on it. thinned oil based poly in several coats will soak in and build a solid protective surface but is a real pain to repair.
Thanks, I have turned to shellac since then so we are totally on the same page. I really like the reparability like you said.
What volume of desiccant do you think the desiccant boxes each hold? I’m seeing how much desiccant to buy. Thanks
It isn't much, you probably need less than 1/4 a pound to do six of them.
Count me in for a shirt!!
Done!
Easy? I need to rob a nearby Goodwill store first for that much fabric.
You can use lots of other options for filler like plastic bags or old carpet. If you are watching this you have a bow so I guess the goodwill robbery might work too.
Thank you for putting together this project and making the STL available. You saved me a bunch of time on a much needed solution for printing PETG. Well done video also.
Glad it helped!
The idea is an A plus, and the tool used is a D. Ending on a high note, you can lose 9 fingers and still scratch your butt if you like.
Thanks for the grade on the project. Ill have to let my table saw know it wasn't cutting it in this video.
Def use tree supports only on the plate! The “more ventilation” option is very fragile using PLA.
Yeah, this is meant to minimize filament usage to maximize the size of rolls you needs and needs to be used inside the container, not free standing. Thanks for the tip on the tree supports.
Thank you for a great idea.
You are so welcome!
Just printed this on my new p1p and it works great, only problem ive had is the barrings are loose and dont click in
You can try shrinking just the x and y axis by 2% on the roller which should help.
Have you ever made a double decker board?
No but that sounds awesome!
I love this wooden Barbie doll house. You did a great job.
Thank you 🤗
Great video. I want to try this but can you tell me what is the shelf life and how should it be stored?
Shelf life should be years as there is nothing to break down. I just store it in some metal tins or mason jars.
THANK YOU!!!! IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!! SO EASY!!! I CUT NOTCH IN WOOD POST.
Awesome! Glad it worked for you.
The shirt-pulling edits were.... perfect? I don't even know how you would do that haha
Thanks! Movie magic. 😉
Where do you get that much fabric without having to use old clothes?
I used some old clothes but with no buttons or zippers, some old blankets, and also some fabric quilting scraps. Others have done it with plastic grocery bags that they said works really well too.
