I got the recommended screen and followed these instructions it was a huge help. The problem is now in the detection test I do, I just get a square of light. I have tried to unplug and replug and check connections without any change in the result.
That’s awesome you got it replaced! The square of light is ok I think. I have multiple options for checking the screen on my printer so I think yours is probably working.

Great video and super helpful, got a second-hand unit for £30 and found a screen replacement for £30 so £60 total for a working printer is pretty good! Looking forward to printing stuff!

My screen had a bunch of black stripes which usually disappeared after turning off and on a few times and do exposure tests. Now it's not going away. Time to change it I guess. This video will be helpful!

I replaced the LCD screen and motherboard both and I am only getting the back half of the detection test image to appear. I reinstalled the old motherboard and the same thing happens. Anycubic sent me a test that ran the LCD without the motherboard and the whole LCD screen looked up, but no one has an answer to why only half of the screen works. I tried the latest firmware and that did not work. Older firmware will not install.
Dang that is a bummer. Hopefully Anycubic will continue to support the printer and get this worked out. I know a lot of people have this printer.

For some reason mine isn't saving the new "home" location after I get it leveled, go to z=0, hit enter. It claims that it saved it, but when I hit the home button after, it doesn't go as low as I had it when I went to save it.
Oh, that is a really weird issue. Were you able to fix it or are you still having that problem? You could try updating the firmware. I know I updated mine and it got rid of a couple of bugs, and allowed some extra sliced file types.
Mine does the same thing but if you just do a ‘test print’ w/o resin to make sure it goes down it works fine
Might have to say use a sheet of paper to cover the screen to inspect it
had this exact thing happen to me but it turns out it was the new firmware causing it so i just rolled it back and it fixed the screen.

Just to be clear - re-levelling the bed instead of adding a thickness under the screen doesn't work. The FEP will always remain to the level of the metal surface, and as a result after the first few layers all you'll get is a gap between the FEP and the screen, which decreases the printer resolution.
Interesting. I haven’t noticed any resolution decreases in my screen changes but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been one. I feel like the print is going to push the FEP layer down the tiny bit into the screen, but you may be right. I am going to add a spacer and see if I can see a difference in the quality. Thanks!
@@BuildItMakeIt Ideally in the very first layer the FEP will be pushed down, which means that the layer will be thinner than expected. The second layer will be slightly less so, until it levels out to the level of the fep. At the end of the day if the cured resin is *touching* the FEP then there is zero layer height!
That said, i followed your video and installed a Mars Pro screen on my anycubic S. Disappointing that it didn't include the L connector but luckly my old one still worked. Thanks for the video! :)
PS: did you have to change your exposure time after replacing the screen? I imagine it might be slightly more-less transparent!
I'm trying with the same setting of before (5.3 seconds for 0.025mm) but I'm not sure if it's gonna be ok!
@@thelazyforger glad the video helped. For me I didn’t have to change any of my setting. I did a cure test for my resin like when I first got it and it looked good. I print .25 layer height at 4 seconds with the elegido water washable resin pretty much exclusively.
I think you are right about the FEP should be touching the screen on its own. I am pretty sure it will be better resolution like that. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it.
