Oh wow, I can't believe I find myself in one of your videos as an inspiration 😮❤. And again we have something in common - I also keep work that inspires me in my apple notes app and some in Pinterest - including many of your photos 😊. The notes app is amazing for all these things. As you said it is very easy to find everything either with folders, search or via tags and I also include links to the artist's websites or Social Media. I like your idea of analyzing images by writing and sketching on them on the tablet.

Great idea. I use Notes on an iPad, but have never used it on the desktop computer. I can’t seem to find a way to format it on the iPad they way you are showing it, with an index column on the left and the actual information in a separate larger column on the right. I will try to see if the Notes app on the desktop computer is different, because I love your general idea. I try to keep different photographers work and how they go about achieving their results, in my head, but it’s limiting, doing it that way.

I tend to collect mine in IG's save feature. I have a few categories of styles and genres I enjoy, and some works that really grab me make it into there. Has to be more than just a likeworthy image to make it there for me. But I always find myself most motivated to make my own photos when I'm seeing what other people are able to do with their cameras. and instead of thinking about what I should go out and take photos of, I'm able to see to potential of what I could take, if I maybe go a little extra out of my way, or try something I haven't tried before. Always learning.

We look to photographers like you for inspiration. For example, I'd love to see what you would make in the city in your style.

can you show us how you developed your photographer notes, what app you used and how it works? Is the app on an iPad?

I have collected photo books for years, and find them very inspirational. The idea of using a computer notebook to collect images that inspire is a great one. Thanks!

This is an excellent idea, using Notes. I've tried to curate inspiring work though a Pinterest board in the past, but it's not the best workflow. I really like how you organized your's by photographer instead of a single board with inspiring work. Will be moving my notes from Pinterest to Notes later today!

I use the Notes app a lot, but I never thought it could organize something like that. My notes are a sort of catch-all drawer where everything fits, and I'm not sure if I would have the mental discipline to create such a well-organized and functional file as yours. It seems like a great idea to me. My source of inspiration for photography is social media, which is undeniably a tsunami of content, and amidst all the initial chaos, you always discover gems that truly inspire you. My other main source is magazines. I am subscribed to Leica's LFI and I like to get lost in its pages. Photo books are great, but they usually specialize in one author. Photography magazines can more easily introduce you to unknown authors due to their open nature and search for new trends. It is, without a doubt, my second source of inspiration.

I've used Google Keep for this. Sometimes I will screen capture an image to use a visual reference for later.

Really nice idea about using Notes as a reservoir of images to store and draw inspiration from. I shall give it a try. Thank you for the inspiring thoughts.

Practice makes you good at what you do, and if what you do is not good or right - if that is what you are practicing - you'll only get good at not being good. Or as someone clever said "Practice doesn't make Perfect: only Perfect Practice makes Perfect".

A7R2 has been good for landscape and portrait photography to this day. I have many happy moments with it. need to do some WB color change though. but overall it is a great camera for stills.

Great video. Overthinking can permeate every decision you have to make before walking out the door. Most times, I like you, find that if I just get up and get out the door, something always happens. Bravo!

I was in exactly the same spots in October last year…blazing sunshine…except for the boat ride back from Alcatraz, when the fog rolled in under the bridge. Marvellous.

I've got the Rolleiflex sl66 but I'm thinking to switching to the Bronica because I prefer an electronic shutter. My doubt is about the lenses. My Planar 80mm is so beautiful lenses and I don't know the Zenzanon. Usually I don't like the Japanese lenses like Nikon or Canon because are so perfect and surgical. What do you think? Thanks.

Hi Adrian, the Fog was the dominant Force in these images. Loved the stairs and some really nice leading lines. Great shot with the Bird over the Bridge. The Fog was the Star in this video blending beautifully with the images. I think this might have been one of the Foggiest shoots you have made. Many thanks 😊
