Endocrine disruptors and Fertility
Endocrine disruptors are mostly man made chemicals that interfere in the normal functioning of hormones including sex hormones
In this video I will explain how these man-made chemicals can trick the body to behave like hormones and then interfere in the process of reproduction at different levels by interfering in the functioning of male and female hormones
Endocrine disruptors include solvents, lubricants, plastics, phthalates, pesticides, fungicides and heavy metals to name a few.
In this video I discuss the effects of 3 off the most common and important chemicals that can disrupt both male and female fertility. These are PFAS, BPA and Phthalates. They are almost impossible to avoid.
Measures that can be taken to minimise exposure will be discussed and whilst the treatment to reduce the chemical load in the body is not straightforward, I will indicate the steps that a health professional will likely take to treat the problem.
This is an important area to consider if conventional testing does not reveal the cause of infertility.

Male Fertility and the microbiome
zhlédnutí 450Před rokem
In the last 40 years sperm count and sperm quality in men has dropped by nearly 40%. There are multiple causes for this dramatic reduction and among these are diet, smoking and excess alcohol consumption and environmental exposures. Diet and the microbiome play an important part and in multiple modifiable ways impact sperm production and hormone production. In this video I discuss how a high fa...
What are benefits of Fermented Foods
zhlédnutí 571Před rokem
Fermented foods have been consumed for thousands of years and in diverse cultures. There are many health benefits attributed to fermented foods. The process of fermentation results in 3 beneficial products, namely probiotics, prebiotics and biogenics. In this video I describe the health benefits conferred by each of these 3 products and list the many benefits of commonly used fermented foods. S...
The Basic Cause of Food Allergies
zhlédnutí 652Před rokem
The incidence of food allergies has been rising for the past 30 years. It is most common in infants and children. In this video I will be discussing the reasons for this increase and how it can be prevented from occurring in the first place. Breast milk plays an important role and the quality of the milk is crucial. I discuss how the quality can be improved. The first 1000 days of an infant’s l...
The Crucial Role of the Microbiome in Osteoporosis
zhlédnutí 6KPřed rokem
Osteoporosis is an increasingly common condition with the ageing population. Post-menopausal women are particularly vulnerable to osteoporosis. Sleep and the microbiome This video looks at the under-recognised influence that the gut microbiome has on sleep. Recent research shows that the gut-brain axis is a pathway for the microbiome that can facilitate or disrupt sleep. Organic vs non organic foods & the Microbiome
zhlédnutí 716Před rokem
This new video concerns the effect of organic foods on general health and the effect of non-organic food on the microbiome. Having been ignored by my doctors (it’s just osteopenia/no HRT prescription, because of the risk of breast cancer, no advise to improve my bone health) I recently ended up with a fracture in my spine. I don’t drink alcohol nor do I smoke, I eat healthy food and exercise on a regular basis. Does constant stress have a negative impact on bone health (via gut health?)?

Whilst they are natural they are high in sugar and should only be consumed in moderation. They do contain trace mineral like copper, calcium and zinc but will have to be consumed in very high amounts to obtain any significant levels of these minerals.

If your head is brown you should not put a picture of the exact shade of brown behind your head. You should use blue or any other colour than the colour of your head. Otherwise your head blends into the background. And it is just an insane choice. White is also fine but not brown skin colour.

I was diagnosed with very severe/advanced osteoporosis in January 2023 (spine t-score -4.6, probably already had fractures, we just hadn't found them yet,) at age 61. I have taken a multi-pronged approach to this thing, but improving gut health, which I had no idea was connected to osteoporosis, nor did I know mine was bad--I just guessed after doing some research that it probably was; later tests confirmed it, was top of my list. This year I had a repeat DEXA just to see. My hips improved modesty, about 4%, but my spine improved by 14.6%, and I FEEL like I am getting better. I'm positive absorbing the nutrients I took in had something to do with this. Of course, with all my scores now in the -3 range, I still have severe osteoporosis. I'll never get my lost height back and I will probably always have pain when I put stress on the fractured spots. I don't even know if I can continue to improve, but I'm going to try. Obviously, getting in front of this issue rather than trying to play catch-up is the better route. But I'm still greatly encouraged. I'm young to start drugs, and I bought myself some time. Still, frustrating that no doctor ever, even though I have Hashimotos, and see a doctor every year, told me I might have gut issues. No allopathic doctor to this day has acknowledged my efforts or suggested that poor absorption could have played a part in either accelerating or slowing my osteoporosis. One gets a sense sometimes that they'd just as soon you die than...make their work harder? Somehow, trying to take responsibility for your own health is a burden to them? Whatever.
