Frilly or sheer socks with the flats? especially with the marry janes. I think the opacity and sportiness of the socks are whats throwing it off. The idea of the socks is really cute!

you can paint brown on your bag, I think it's a heavy combination at all (pink+this brown) also you can try to wear your red skirt with boots another colour (not black, but maybe caramel brown, mustard, light blue or red, or yellow - colourful shoes are so much fun)

i'm new to your channel but i really appreciate that you include a diversity of different kinds of bodies as inspo pictures. and by this i don't mean just different sizes but also racialized people and wheelchair users etc. i feel like what bodies we see fashion on really impacts the way we see the space i.e. either as exclusive to certain kinds of people or as an avenue for truly open artistic expression for all

Wow, thank you for this video. 😊 Where to start. . . It's not just women of color, unfortunately. If you're a redhead, especially a non typical redhead, don't bother getting your colors done. I've had mine done 3 times and all 3 times I got a different result. Yup. Boy am I glad I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on it! Next, there is light. (Photographer here.) Light changes color. Both what you're wearing and your hair and skin etc. Do a simple experiment. Put on a single color blouse you think looks good on you. Then go out in the sunlight. Go into a supermarket or somewhere fluorescent light. Look at it under incandescent light. LED light. You will be surprised how different the color of the blouse (and YOU) look under the different kinds of light. So unless you magically create the exact lighting of when you had the analysis done, umm, it's meaningless. Finally, I have no objections to people doing this for fun and if they don't take it seriously -kinda like astrology. But when people pay hundreds of dollars for it I get steamed. It's a scam. Pretty much everyone can wear some shade of nearly every color. For example fire engine red is not good on me, but I get lots of compliments when I wear brick red. And nearly everyone has one downright awful color, mine is purple, from lavender to deep grape purple, they all make me look like I'm on my way to the emergency room, or should be. Play with color. Have fun with it. But don't let someone elses opinion limit you. And don't spend hundreds of dollar on it! 😉🌻

One thing season colour analysis and the kibbe body type tests help me do is introspect on clothes and colors I've loved. It's a framework that i keep in mind and help with curbing impulse buying cause i know I've spent time thinking about what looks good on me so i don't jump into any bandwagons

May I suggest skin tone/sheer tights in place of socks, for shoes that look better with bare legs/feet? This prevents my feet from sweating a ton into the shoes and chafing

For me, the solution to the flats is to wear tights. Doesn't work for the issue of them being too big though!

One of my biggest strange sources of inspiration is my childhood outfits! I was always allowed to dress myself from a young age and, before I learned conformity, I totally slayed. Take the pink bag to a cobbler/shoe repair place and have them add a strap to make it cross body! Also the orange boots would probably be like $30 to fix (in my experience with cobblers)

At least for the loafers, there are specific loafer socks, you could try, if you feel like giving them another chance.

for the red boots , if cobblers dont have a shape to match the size of the heel they can cut it out of a sheet of material, they also might be able to repair the lining you can go to or call around for quote, its not super expensive, at least in my area to get the heel fixed, i think the most i ever paid was 20 bucks for 2-3 pairs. plus its a good way to support local tradespeople/business

Also thought it was super weird no one was talking about this...particularly the amount it seems to ignore that POC exist and the negative affect it can have on people's self esteem to feel like they look "awful" in colors they have always loved.

I'm totally shocked in the first minute: burgundy is my favourite colour for clothes. I volunteer at a kind of charity shop (we're getting donations and giving them away for free, so that stuff gets a longer life) and even our regular customers tend to hand me all the burgundy clothes, because it has become my signature colour 🤣

I know other people have already pointed it out but I just can't get over the diversity in the sample photos you've used. So rare to see such good representation.

I repair vintage shoes for my Depop shop, and I can assure you that fixing that edge is not hard at all. I often encounter some vintage boots from the 90s and 00s with this issue. You will need sanding paper, heavy leather filler, and leather paint. Here’s what you can do: 1. Sand the faux leather layer off completely 2. Apply a layer or two of heavy leather filler, which you can buy online in small pack, so you don’t have to pay too much. Let it dry completely 3. Sand the new dried layer a little with a softer sanding paper for smooth texture 4. Paint over the edge. Make sure to choose self-sealing paint which means that the paint doesn’t need to be treated with leather finish afterwards as leather finish is already added to the paint. It secures the paint on the filler. The remaining product from the filler and the paint you can use for so many other shoes and bags, as you can repair scratches and tears with it. It’s generally good to have those products at home. Keep in mind that this advice is good only if a small area away from your feet is made of faux leather. If the whole lining is like that it won’t work. Also the result will not look like new leather, but it won’t flake and will look neat. Reading the reheeling of the shoes, I really doubt it would cost $80. The shape of the heel shouldn’t matter much, as the cobbler just can cut the new tip around the shape of the heel. I have dealt with cobblers for many years because of my vintage shop and it never was an issue. However asked the potential cobbler to show you some of their works, so you could see for yourself if they do their work properly (no weird gaps or wrong angled tips). And if a cobbler doesn’t reside in a city center or some fashionable area, the prices are usually lower. Last thing please don’t get rid of that pink bag, it looks gorgeous next to your hair 🔥
