This doesn’t even do as much damage as the str build I beat him with Deflecting hardtear all in on poise break and the anvil, 2 guard counters and he phased in 5s

faith/str build using Black Steel Greathammer procing faith using devoted strike talismans alexander piece, holy scorpion, defense+3 and non-pyshical defense+3 too holy damage + poise break on elixir... golden vow, flame give me strengh and Sword of light holy+ dmaage buff I was hitting for 5830 damage each devoted strike and breaking his poise on three hits malenia rune so it reals entirely my HP using devoted strike dude got obliterated into oblivion when i fucked him and his bro-wife
What else do you expect them to do when half the mechanics in the game are tied to dexterity and every now and then they just change what should have been a str weapon to dex for fun
It disappoints me to see people using bs fingerprint shield builds on this boss. I’m okay with this build though.

@user-fq5cp2nw3y because that's now how it works. It doesn't change the actualy AR of the weapon, it just makes roll attacks deal more damage.
@@hipposplatamus1325 not it doesn’t increase dmg by rolling or back stepping Do you have to attack instantly after rolling ? That can’t be right bc it allows backsteoping too.. I’ve been testing this for hours now. All kinds weapons My normal attack dmg is no different with talisman rolling, back stepping, crouching , jumping … whatever.
@user-fq5cp2nw3y If you do a light attack (R1 on PlayStation) immediately after rolling or backstepping, you'll get a different attack animation than a normal attack. The talisman only buffs those different looking attacks. An easy way to test it is to crouch and then attack. This gives you the same animation as rolling and then attacking (just make sure you attack whilst you are crouched). The talisman will buff the damage that this attack does. An easy test weapon would be a colossal sword. They have a unique crouch/roll attack that is a thrust (AKA "poke") attack, so it's easy to tell if you did it correctly.
@user-fq5cp2nw3y Another thing to note is that you have to attack immediately after rolling/backstepping to get it to work, or attack whilst you are rolling/backstepping. The important thing is to make sure that you don't just do a normal light attack.
