I will not choose limerence.

There is no fool like an old fool! At 79 years old i went into limerence and now at 82 i am still going through pain and the constant thoughts. It has made me age 10 years or more. I have been sick for two years . I lost two sisters and a nephew,and three nieces all,of whom i grew up with . I couldnt even grieve the losses like i should because of this linerence thing. I was crazy still cant understand what happened or why! It has gotten some better .but not near enough for me to get back to enjoying anything.

Weird. I don't understand this. My limerences always have been non-sexual. I felt crazy strong emotional and romantic attraction to my LOs, but was unable to picture them in any sexual kind of way. In fact, they rarely were "my type". I knew them for a while, felt an emotional connection and then started to build limerence for them at that point, that sometimes lasted for months, sometimes for years even. I'm not asexual. I've experienced crazy strong sexual attraction for random strangers, but then I had no romantic or emotional attraction for these. Am I weird for being like that?

No signs of a grief process 4. You see them in crystallization ("I've always been unhappy" and you don't recognize your own relationship). 5. Extreme mood swings (no contact with the other makes them feel depressed) 6. They shut you out (the world orbits around the other person) 7. They are not a logical fit. 8. There are obstacles (living in another city, co-worker, married themselves) 9. Partner starts to behave out of it's character 10. You are puzzled. You question everything.

A child can develop a fantasy bond with an unavailable and continuously abandoning parent. Attachment is maintained through the fantasy. This fantasy bond capacity has played havoc in my life. Limerence for me is the fantasy bond. Then there is the grief behind the fantasy.

I appreciate your insight into limerence. In DBT there is the concept of self acceptance and also a commitment to changing behaviour.

My husband has had online limerance with, one of those scantily clad women … in the past year (according to him) but, there is one that he can’t seem to let go of. He claims to no longer be in contact with he any longer but, I know he is 🙄 He has sent her money so she can buy dresses “for her fans” too! He is using an app called Signal so, there’s no getting into that app like I was able to on other apps. Although he claims it’s over, he still being secretive with his phone… you know how they do. How long can this continue without being able to see his signal messages, and confront him?

What happens when two people meet and each become the object of the other's limerance? Lwt me tell you from experience: 25 years (and counting) of pure passion that is every bit as strong and, yes, borderline obsessive as the momemt we met.

I have a huge problem, help 😢 - My LO is a next door neighbour 😒 I am doing a perfect no contact since he cut it off, BUT I find myself light-stalking looking through the peeping hole to see when he comes and goes... see him from a far behind my door. Last week I saw a young woman entering his house, which sent me to a very hard episode of enxiaty and even light self hurting. We both live here with no intent to leave for this year. I feel devestated and triggered. What can I do 😢?

I know I'm healing, while I'm still in pain with grief from BOTH the loss of my late sweet hunk of a husband, and the acceptance that I was nothing but a momentary amusement for a very restless, flirtatious married man afterwards, but I am healing. I never got inappropriate with him, so I have that layer of dignity to heal with, and I'm over a year no contact. I tell myself DAILY that HE isn't even NOTICING my absence; that's how inconsequential I was for him. I am thickening my own skin. Meanwhile I'm out there meeting new people.

Can you talk about how to know if someone is limerent over you?
