High Sierra Gold Lake || Plumas National Forest
We took our Toyota Landcruiser on a quick two night trip to one of our favorite High Sierra lakes. Gold Lake is the largest lake in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area. Its crystal clear water runs into Frazier Creek and eventually to the Feather River. The lake features many campsites and offers plenty of hiking, fishing, and stargazing opportunities. We used our @IRONMAN4X4_International awning room for the first time, hiked around the area, and at night, were treated to clear views of the Milky Way. We hope you enjoy this video!

I wish it was like it was from 1980 to 2018. Before all the city folk started going up there, emptying out crawdad nets from kayaks and ruining it for the generations of families that have been going up there for 40+ years. It is pretty, but to take your rented motor homes and city attitudes up there to spoil it for the people that like to catch and eat what God provided us in nature, has ruined the area.

I live just outside nevada city close to the tahoe forest boundary. I have spent most my life primarily in el dorardo,tahoe, sierra and plumas forest. Cannot get enough of Norcal outdoors! Great video

I followed your guide and went to Lake Bowman and Faucherie Lake. Both beautiful. The Hidden Falls was easy to walk to and amazing. Our was cold, bit I still jumped in! Thanks for the guide.

Awesome video! Thinking of heading out to this spot with some friends soon. I’ve got a stock 4wd v8 4Runner at the moment. Do you think I’d be able to make it out to that 4x4 camp site with highway tires on?
You will want to have a spare. Watch sharp rocks for sidewall punctures, it’s fairly rocky on the trail. Stock trucks can definitely make it if you’re careful, but I’ve seen someone slash a sidewall on a highway tire out there.

Excellent video! I really like the quick overland camping trip type video that you two made. It had a bit of overland, camping and hiking all in a few days. I especially like that it was a northern Cali location and that it had excellent narration of your trip. Videos with good narration of a trip in Northern Cali are lacking on CZcams. Mostly there are videos with just the visual portion but no narration of the trip. Great job again and keep posting those Northern Cali overland trips!

Canyon Creek campground. Everything around Bowman was packed but Canyon Creek was surprisingly half empty!

It sounds great. It deep and raw. A lot of civics sound terrible and like a pop can on a bike.
Mine made 320 with 289ftlb at 25psi same setup just 76mm pistions.
I could feel that hit through my whole body. LOL. Liking the sliders though, about to pull the trigger on them as well.
They are an absolute must for these trails! Word of advice - if you wheel your rig they will need touch up sooner or later, glad I DIY sprayed them instead of powder coat 👍

The thing scoots! I have the same glowshift afr gauge that I’m just about to install right now. The analogue one. How has yours been? I just found out today that you can set high and low limits where the light will flash at you.

Jennifer Cole It is definitely peaceful out there. Make sure you get there early to get a spot - they were completely full our first night but plenty of other dispersed camping further down the road!

@@OutdoorEdition Well, we were shooting for camping at Gold Lake but it was packed so we continued on and found the snake lake trail. We camped down at the bottom for a couple days, then headed out towards Little Deer Lake on Sunday. I was happy we didn't have to climb back out the way we came down. That trail was steep as shit! Definitely a hairy section of trail but really pretty area. It was very quiet camping down there as opposed to all of the people at Gold Mountain. Only had some PCTers hike through and only saw a couple of rigs pass through as well. Only one jeep camped nearby Saturday night...and that was it. Will definitely need to go back to check out some other camp spots we drove by.
