Lots of times it's about getting to know them and them getting to know you. If I never went to a coin shop that was kind of snooty at first I'd never have gotten to get some great coins. One shop made a crack that I was looking for painted coins. But after seeing that I was a regular steady customer they look for the coins I want. Some of the best coins I'm looking for are not out in the cases. Don't write some of the shops off at first go.

I'm pretty good at respectfully getting things moving. That dude could sell a rattler or two in between haggling that guys order. 'hi, we're here to buy on a boy's LCS crawl, we've come a long way and we won't take much of this seller's time'. The Australian accent would smooth things over.

I have mostly had good experiences, I have noticed that the more I go to certain shops the better the prices get.

Nope not me, if I’m unhappy with the service I bloody well let it be known, having a yarn when it’s not busy is no problem, ignoring waiting customers is just rude, I would unload and leave never to return until things change. Thanks for sharing your experience 👍

I guess we are lucky in my area, Central Texas. I deal with 5 different ones within a hour drive from my home (we use time driving other than miles, lol) and all are pleasant to deal with. Even the ones at the local gun shows are good to do business with.

Tis a pity you let that guy get under your skin AND THEN told everyone.. i'm not that way. Dude don't want the business ? Fine. I quit smoking cigarettes after 25 years and spun on my heels fast enough to make you dizzy after walking into the closest shop to my house and finding it full of smoke Nope! No chance of doin business close to my house.. fortunately that's my worst experience. Business owners want to alienate potential customers? I've been stacking for 2 years. My second lcs experience. The old guy was a total jerk. I look like an outlaw biker, but I'm not . Now he is one of my best friends. I go there once a week. Even if I don't buy anything.

I disagree with you. How do you know hes not going through a life and or ongoing health matter? Also, its coin shop etiquette not to show up in big groups. C ‘mon man. Dont bash his business, just bc you had a bad experience. Coin shops are few and far between nowadays. If you get to know the guy on a one on one basis, I bet you it would turn out differently. Thats the problem w/ todays adults. Theyre quick to write bad reviews and shoot out witty replies w/ o giving anything much thought! I challenge you to go back and give him a second chance. He’ll still be grumpy, but I guarantee you if you show him some patience and serious business inquiries, he’ll come around. Its business, dont take it so personal. After, make it personal on a positive note. Cheers!

I guess that’s the only positive I can think of for not having any LCS within my small city and several towns around it. That guy’s loss, my man.

Absolutely had some bad interaction at 2 Out of my 3 LCS Now 1 of them feels so uncomfortable to go into now but I still do from time to time. I really do think it has a lot to do with me not being a all in coin collector so it feels like he doesn't have time to take car of my needs. Just not in the click I guess..I do purchase coins but not like I do with my bullion. But hey it is what it is. 🇺🇲🦅⚖️

Great topic in this vid. We have all been there (disgruntled coin shop owner!) I usually try to go back atleast 1 or 2 more times cuz everyone has a bad day right? Now if on 2nd or 3rd return trip I'm recieving same rude attitude or poor service I will talk calmly to shop owner and let him or her know how our interaction has been from my point of view. Want to give them a chance to put best foot forward. That said if nothing changes I wont go back ever. I dont bash businesses on line but have no problem leaving a truthful review of my experience to help others. Enjoyed this vid thanks.

For my first time going into a coin shop, the first place we went to made us feel bad for going. I enjoyed the second place we went to, though 😊. The first guy was definitely a jersey. But the people I was with made our day so much better 😊

Yep, a few of them, needless to say I didn't return. My regular LCS treats me with the utmost respect and even holds back stuff he knows I like till I come in the next week. You year then right, they'll treat you right. Great vid! 👍👍👍

Give it to his boss and tell him you found his guys nametag in front of the store. Tell him to have a good day, leave, and never darken the door again. The name on the tag: DICK.😂 I agree wholeheartedly with the rules of etiquette though! 😠👍 Just my 2 copper pennies worth.

One time I was with my kid at a local Raleigh coin shop passively looking for coins and trading stories. Some dude rolls in with a fat stack of bills and a chubby for silver. I know Emily Post never wrote about coin shop etiquette, but we just took a knee to let our coin dude make his deal for the day. It was kind of cool seeing a transaction for a few hundred ounces too. Once this was done we got right back into trading stories before I bought maybe an ounce to take home.

Yall were quite patient my friend. I hope his shop isn’t the only resource that you have near you.

40:01 - rude coin shop employees: it seems to be universal. Exactly the same here in the UK and very similar to Europe. I have visited your fine country many times for work and because I am into modern coins, semi-numismatic and collectors coins I have actually had dealers ignore me, tell me I’m wasting my money, or try to vastly overcharge me. Wa*kers….. (a British word that should have an ‘n’ instead of the *). Good live feed guys - you seem like decent dudes. 👍

A 1/4 oz gold coin question, please. Presently my budget allows me to buy 1/4, oz's, I am aware of the premiums vs 1ozers, but I always see the 1/4oz gold British Tutor coins at $30+ lower than other 1/4ozers like AGE, Maple, Britannia, etc...I haven’t collected the quarter ounce gold tutor coins in the past, but they are at such a great price being a 1/4oz that it’s frustrating vs buying a more expensive 1/4 gold ones. In your opinion, would you buy these because of the lower price? And why or why not, thank you!!

LCS's arent the only place to sell junk silver. Ive done very well selling it on ebay and youtube auctions. When silver was down, I was able to pick up a good chunk for 15X face. Sold some of it for 21X face. Thats a nice profit!

Corporations are not coming back from Mexico or Canada. The tax breaks are to great, cost per unit to manufacture is low, that is why Corporations moved where they are located now. We have a rust belt for a reason.
