there are so many mods for the RD-6, but you can also change the cymbal or hihat decay by holding the function button and turning the tempo knob.

@livegadgetlive cut the eyes, place two leds at the back (you can decide the led type so it would light with any color) so when it lights the light will be seen as in the video. Then you can link the leds connection to the Light connection such as 4 example the light circuit assigned to the accent. You can even link the light color to the cutoff knob (4 example) so at low cutoff one color may appear and on max cutoff another color may appear.. anything is possible. For more details you should see the TD-3 technical documents and figure it out how to link them

What exactly is unclear to you? You need a 100k resistor in series with the potentiometer. This total resistance is placed in parallel with capacitor C122. Together with R189, a limited variable voltage divider is created that shifts the operating point of the transistor. Two contacts of the potentiometer (the side with the large resistor and the wiper) are directly soldered to the ground plane on the back of the PCB. There’s not much more to say about it.

​@@MM-b303 Thanks. I can solder well and build synth kits, with good instructions and visuals. Like a lot of laypeople I rely on visuals and exact instructions of what to do. An example, "You need a 100k resistor in series with the potentiometer". That doesn't mean anything to me but I would have no problem doing it if shown what to do, what goes where etc. i.e solder this bit to this bit. Sorry I'm not trying to be obtuse or anything just speaking as a layperson.

A flip flop chip can be used to generate a square wave that's one octave down. I don't know exactly where to put in in a TD-3, but I can imagine someone already doing that. 😀

I prefer an essentially modded TD3 to an MO any day...

@@hampsonpaul3531 I'm kinda in the same boat at the moment, I have modded 2 Td-3s and even though the mods are mostly the same, they sound a little different, and for that I'm keeping both.
