What is BOO-CHAR, Bamboo Biochar
We have a new product available, 'BOO-CHAR'. We make it by burning our waste bamboo with a special technique (explained below), resulting in biochar that we then crush and inoculate with compost or compost tea. It is used as a soil amendment to improve soil structure and fertility, creating living soil goodness for all your green growing things!
Biochar is the end product from burning waste plant material (in our case, bamboo) in a controlled process called pyrolysis. It is a highly porous, carbon-rich material that enhances soil quality.
Biochar has an immense surface area and pore structure that provides a secure habitat for microorganisms and fungi. These pores are also particularly important for water and nutrient retention in the soil.
Agriculturally, it is used as a soil amendment since it helps to increase soil fertility, soil structure, and soil quality. It is also used as a carbon sequestration method.

How to Divide Root-bound Potted Bamboo
zhlédnutí 73KPřed 5 lety
Tips from the bamboo experts! How to divide and transplant your overgrown potted running bamboo! Over time, bamboo will fill out the pot it's planted in. When this happens, the bamboo will not have room to send up new shoots, and the existing growth will thin out and yellow. When bamboo is root-bound, it won't receive the necessary water and nutrients. Root-bound running bamboo can escape easil...
Love your vdo. How many day the roots will come from baby bamboo? Thank you.
Muito legal amei
That is not the right method for running bamboo. You end up multiple plant in each chunk
Does this work with clumping bamboo. I would love to see how to plant those root pieces but mainly on clumping bamboo as that tends to be the variety that is preferred in Australia
anyone planting this thing should be in jail
I'm about to become a bambooster myself. I just got a container and am bamboo shopping. What kind of bamboo is this? I really like the kind with the green stripes.
Thank you!
Great work ❤❤😊
I just planted some bamboo to use to feed my goats. I planted in 2 different spots last year. Looks like the one location didn't survive because the chickens got in and scratch it up. I don't see any new growth any more. The other site has a few new canes, but I have caught a couple goats in side the fence. (obviously, they like bamboo) So far, it is still showing life. Just planted another area about a month ago. So far I have managed to keep critters away from it. I am thinking that the goats will help to control the spread. They are obviously eager to do so.
Excellent information. Thank you for sharing.
And only water ?
I have several questions about rhizome propagation. I am from Europe. Do you have any way we can communicate? reddit ?
Nice!
How long does it typically take for new culms to emerge after propagation
Thank you
The best channel regarding bamboo, your information are amazing and I can't find any better in the network Congratulations and thanks 🙏 please make other videos like this
So this won't work with running bamboo? Seems like it would work on all bamboo.
Turn the music down so we can hear you. Shiiiiiiit. Next video.
Thanks for sharing ✨🙏💖😁✨

How often do you water in spring?

Would it not just immedately start running again from where you cut?
I love how insecure people ask technical questions instead of instructing in order to try to feel superior.
อยากได้พันธุ์มาปลูกที่ประเทศไทยของฉันมันสวยมาก
Great video! Could that be cut into 8ths instead of just a half? From what I understand, bamboo is quite hardy and you cannot kill it.
Excellent video this helped me a ton thank you very much keep doing what you're doing we all appreciate it

Really cool video, thank you!! Can you use a similar technique with Fargesia Robusta 'Campbell' ?
Great information thank you
Which are quicker to grow, Buds or shoots?
Very cool, getting my first bamboo plants next week and I'm SO excited. 24 x golden goddess and 2 x black bamboo. Driving my wife NUTS with talking about bamboo, now I've got something new to tell her, hahaha
I got a pot full of bamboo that someone put in the garbage. I re-potted it in a tub that I put in the ground. Two years later a cane shot up 6 feet away! I didn't know it was running bamboo. I'm glad.
Awesome. Thanks. I got some bad advice that you corrected.
Spring update. how’s it going with the bamboo baby’s. Maybe a new q&a. Love this Chanel
Bamboos can single handily transform the garden into Japanese garden
What species or variety is the first one you're working with?🤔
Please can you explain what you mix on the tray..?
Your team did a great job installing and planting my bamboo in a redwood conainer. Do you have seperate video for the harvest and replanting for a redwood contanier. Do I need to cut the plastic at the permiter ?
