AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-20 Oil Analysis For 2019 Ford Flex
I love information in most all forms. Today I'm interested in finding out just how long AMSOIL Signature Series oil will last in my 2019 Ford Flex with current usage. Oil Analyzers Inc. has a great kit for sending a sample and finding out what's going on with the fluid. I'm interested to find out more. Hang around and we'll find out together.

Pella Sliding Door Lock Repair

Today I woke up and the lock on my sliding door was broke. Who knows what happened to it. It’s been close to zero degrees out for 3 or 4 days now so it may be related to that. Pella makes quality product and they still sell parts so if that were necessary that’s a good thing. Let’s get it fixed!

My wife spilled some corrosive cleaning agent on the rear seat of our 2019 Ford Flex. Not cool. It ate a 6 inch diameter hole right in the leather. I love my truck. Can’t get enough of it. The one thing I have wanted to change about it since I got it is the stereo. The stock stereo picked up like 4 stations and I only liked one of them. I’m adjusting each screw to achieve highest idle. After each screw is adjusted so that idle increases, then you adjust the idle back to 1000 rpms and you have achieved optimum mixture in each cylinder.

    Although not as desirable as your Poncho, I got a '76 Valiant sedan for $0 'out-of-pocket' a few years back. 318, HD suspension, HD cooling, solid, & weirdly optioned as it was toward the very end of production for A-bodies. What I like is that a 4-door is more useful, when you modify it nobody cares (unless you go "100% Ass-clown")- I've got the 12" rotor swap, Bergman Auto Craft suspension & steering, the engine K-member is perimeter welded, 3" skid plate & gusseted, power trunk popper, XHD rear leafs with poly bushings, AM radio converted to AM/FM/Blue Tooth with a USB port & outlet for an amplifier, run 15"x7" Vector wheels with 60-series rubber, slightly bigger cam, dual-roller timing chain, 2.5" dual exhaust, Edelbrock intake with a Thermoquad & dual snorkel air cleaner...it's just fun, low-stress, and people smile, wave, come to talk about it when I'm at the gas station or whatever. Totally understand your excitement & enjoyment

      That’s what it’s all about to me. Everything I own I use. I don’t own anything that’s a showpiece. To me this is nice enough to keep for a long time but rough enough that I don’t worry when my 8 year old sits in the back seat for a ride to Culver’s. After I get the timing chain and water pump replaced its dual exhaust next. So far I’m thinking 2.93 rear gears and keep the automatic. Set it and forget it.

    I have a 2013 Escape 2.0. There’s no way I would ever wait until that oil change warning came on. Anything interval Ford suggests, I cut it in half at least. Im not sure what engine you have but the 2.0 is a GDI and turbo. I used ti change the oil at 6,000 miles. Then I went to 5,000 miles. Now I do it at 3,000 miles. Always full synthetic. These Ecoboost engines are filthy with heavy fuel dilution and sludge. I do a drain and drill to my trans every 10,000 miles. Thank you for sharing the lab results feedback. I've restored a few of these early AM and AM/FM radios for early Pontiacs. I put a restored AM/FM radio in my 68 Catalina. I also repaired an original dash clock and put it in my dash. Sweet car, Warwick blue and cameo white two tone is very attractive. Brake booster indicates front disc set up. At almost 100k miles very unlikely it still has the original nylon timing gear. However it might be a good idea to pull the oil pan since the shredded plastic from the old timing gear has clogged the oil pickup screen. All the full sized Pontiacs from that era have a canister style fuel sending unit and they tend to jam. Unfortunately there is no replacements available and no one who can service them. Solution is to leave it be and fill it every 200 miles or have a lever arm style welded to the original top flange. Good luck with the project! Btw, that black paint in the trunk jam was a factory thing on early production cars.

      @M7Adventures Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks a lot for your comment. It does have front disc brakes. I’m planning to look at that timing setup in the next month or so. I sure don’t want to run it if it still has that original gear. Thanks for the info on the fuel sending unit. I just drive short distance so I’m sure it’s no big deal to just keep fuel topped up. I’ll post videos with the progress.

    Replacing the ignition module on my 90 Bronco 5.8l but the distributor is seized up and won't budge. Not an inch. Sprayed a bunch of PB Blaster to try and lossen her up then borrowed a slide hammer and axle puller adapter from Auto Zone to try and pop her loose from underneath but no go. No good reason this shouldn't be a 10 minute R&R. I figure after all this trouble I'll find it wasn't the ignition module but rather the ignition switch. 😆

    Wow thanks for making this video! I am experiencing very similar happenings with my 89 ford 302! May I ask you questions about this fuel pump you replaced. How did you determine the pump was bad? Thinking back on that fuel pump replacement, when you pulled the pump outlet tube off of the rubber hose, did you see a slit in the hose or not? I ask because I pulled my pump, thinking it is bad, but I found a long slit in that hose and so I replaced it and not the pump. but I still have the same problem happening, now I wonder if that slit is originally supposed to be there, perhaps for a pressure relief issue?? And there is no one at parts stores of dealerships old enough to answer that question! rrrg, frustrating. Did your hose have a slit, or did you replace the hose also? because your there and were talking about inside the tank, not an easy area!

    • @M7Adventures
      @M7Adventures Před rokem

      I’m sorry I don’t remember for sure about the hose. I don’t think there was a cut in it but I couldn’t say for sure. My way of thinking would have been to replace the pump too while you were already in there with the tank lowered. Over time I have replaced all 3 pumps and the manual switch between tanks. That switch is another factor. I would switch fuel tanks and still be pulling from the other tank overworking the exterior fuel pump on the frame. That’s something to consider as well.

    • @csmith563
      @csmith563 Před 7 měsíci

      There's another video out how to clean the Tank selector can, further past the Hi pressure pump. Evidently has a lot to do with which tank WILL work. May be a dumb question but did you swap out the fuel filter?

    Thanks for all this.. I bought this exact same generator a year ago for $60 (CAD) and the guy claimed it used to run and make power but thought the gas tank was too rusty and the carb pulled rust into itself and clogged it, I bought it with the thought it’ll be one of those projects I’ll take on and fix it, well SURPRISE I never did it haha, it sat in the shed…then I moved to the country and people in the municipality said power outages were quite common and lasted longer than in the city so I figured I better take the thing to a small engine mechanic who will get it done and fixed in a more timely matter and $100 later he did get it running, cleaned the carb and used a chemical to remove most of the rust out of the tank but still didn’t run right because it had low compression & he didn’t want to work on it any longer because he didn’t think it was fair to charge me on something he didn’t think was salvageable, I did end up buying another generator but this video at least gave me hope and confidence to get a look at my Coleman generator and work on it myself to get the compression back. Thanks, you got another subscriber.

    Hey when your truck would stall would it cough and sputter before before dying like when u run out of gas? Because I’m working on a 89 f250 5.8L and it will start and run great for a few minutes then with no warning, no sputtering nothin, it just dies like as if u turned the key off. It will restart right away just fine and run for a minute or so then, boom dead. I replaced the frame mounted fuel pump and filter, distributor /cap/rotor/icm, ignition coil, throttle position sensor, and the ignition switch.. nothing changed. I didn’t want to drop the tank to do the in tank pump but I’m thinking I might have to.

      It did some of both. A couple of times it died with almost no warning. But I can think of once when it sputtered and I could feather the gas to keep it going for a little bit. The key for me was to listen for the fuel pump on the rail to get louder than normal. When the tank pump would get weak I could really hear that rail pump whine. Then it would eventually stall. I have 2 tanks but the problem for me was that the pump in the rear tank was bad too. So I couldn’t just switch tanks to check it. Good luck.

      Yeah you definitely need to get the steering work done first. Otherwise you’re going to ruin tires anyway.

      There are a lot of options. I lean toward stock on steering and suspension but that’s the great thing about after market parts. You can do almost anything.

    I'm having the sale issue with my 1986 f150 with efi. Ordered both a new ignition control module and a in-tank fuel pump. Hope one of these fixes the issue!

      Ended up being a fuel pump for me but the ignition control was a known issue so that’s why I tried that first. Good luck.
