You have not described a side hustle, or made an effective case for one. You have described a HOBBY. The language of “hustle” presupposes that all of our efforts must be monetized, which is hollow and untrue. The entire philosophical segment of the vlog makes the argument for hobbies as emotionally if not spiritually satisfying, and socially bonding. Everybody needs hobbies, and the “hustleification” of them needs to end.

Bro, you don't understand what a high income skill is, it means a skill that if you have yields you a high income given the demand of the market. Eg. In the past it would have been a high income skill to be a blacksmith. Today a high income skill is a software engineer. I think you are confused. Sr. backend over here: 1st. worst nightmare, from Friday to the next Monday, internet and the current company decide that backend roles do not exist anymore and CSS / HTML / vanilla JS is the 3 main tools to use on the products we build. 2nd. worst nightmare, observe Jr. engineer introducing very bad SWE skills and push to `main` branch or deploy with no code review at all (increasing the time invest to the project in the incoming future) Jr. engineers: please, do not learn front end, in this world there are tons of possitions, try FE when all of you have "experience" in this field cheers from Venezuela 🇻🇪, thank you for the video.

After 7 years coding-working for others, I lack purpose in life. I have plenty of ideas and projects to develop but I have always postponed them because I wanted to get experience first. But I am done. I must fall in love with programming again before it's too late. 40 hours per week leaves no time for creativity, I need to decrease working hours first.

You burn out because the side hustle isn’t one that can generate income even when you aren’t there. & even if you end up hiring people to do the work, then you’ll be spending all your time managing them…at least until it’s making enough money to pay a high salary employee that can replace you. You’ve got to find one that has potential for “passive” income, which is why all the rich “side hustlers” are starting CZcams channels lol!

Never heard anything more detached from reality than this. 99% of engineers will never earn more working on their projects than they will earn working at a job!
