Flew out of AGP yesterday and its a great airport from a passenger perspective.

Just got off a 12 hour THY flight IST to MIA and it honed into my brain how much air travel is miserable and uncomfortable. Yet our BA flight from MIA to LHR was very comfortable and relaxing. Never more ThY...Never more.

There is nothing -- NOTHING -- like the sound of a piston-engine airliner! DC-4s, 6s, 7s and Connies.....the sound of them still roar through my mind when I was a kid in the 1950s and 60s. Beautiful sound (and a beautiful shot of that DC-4, too!). Thanks!

0:13 I just booked a flight on Lufthansa because it's on my bucket list to fly in the upper deck of a 747. The equipment was listed as a 747-8. I was super excited. Three days later I get an email stating the equipment had changed to an Airbus. 👎 I'm so disappointed.

Positional flight. That steep climb had no passengers. All the equipment in the galley and etc is all strapped down. The crew and the plane need to be in a different city tomorrow morning for logistical purposes. There are dozens of people keeping track of every hour of flight for personnel and for planes to keep the schedule as complete as possible. This positioning is a daily occurrence.

i don't care if the Airbus was near stall speed or not, it's still a pretty sight. That Jet2 pilot tried Formula 1 but couldn't make the cut. And the crab landing pilot has cojones of titanium.

In the early 80s, I was fortunate enough to be on the Flight Deck for a landing at Kai Tak, British Airways 747. As we made the turn, the Tower reported a sudden wind change, I think we touched down with a 5kt Tailwind. We only just made the last turn off, still doing about 40kts . . .

I flew the 747 for 12 years, and I found it to be the easiest to land of all of the aircraft I've flown. The speed, stability and inertia make it a very stable platform. However, things happen!

Can someone explain why the Lufthansa went around? It looked firmly on the ground after the bounce but the angle wasn't great. Just unsettled and worried about stopping time for runway length?
