Happy 76th birthday, Stevie Nicks! Been a Fleetwood Mac/Stevie fan for 7 years now ever since GOTG Vol. 2 comes to mind and I even gotten Rumours on CD around that time. But I wanna get back into the fandom a lot more so I bought the vinyl version earlier this year. While I never gotten around checking out their albums until recently that I gave Fleetwood Mac '75, Tusk (an album that I never knew it even exist until I heard "Sara" and "Tusk" from the 1988 Greatest Hits compilation that I owned on vinyl that I got as an Xmas gift last year), Mirage and Tango in the Night for the first time. Personally my favourite FM albums outside of Rumours are: Tango in the Night, Tusk and Mystery to Me (which I got around listening to it last weekend). As any FM fan in my generation who hasn't listened to those albums, you definitely should since there's a lot of deep cuts that you probably don't even know they exist. Even I wasn't too big on the Peter Green or Bob Welch eras, Mystery to Me is definitely worth listening. Btw, great deep dive. The original recording of Silver Springs is great, but the 97 live version from The Dance is more superior.

I was 17 when Rumours was released. It was on my turntable weeks. I wasn’t alone. I feel for kids today, music isn’t what it was back then. Artists like Glen Campbell had variety shows. Those shows were family shows, with a wide variety of styles showcased, Midnight Special was just for the kids and it was not to be missed. Where the music is recorded is just as important as the music itself. Many top 10 songs were recorded at Sound City. It is such an iconic place. If you haven’t seen Dave Grohl’s documentary, and you love music, it’s a must see. Another great studio is Philadelphia International Records which was famous for the Sound of Philadelphia. Rock on!

Today they would just run it through computer program and pitch correct it. They're even going back and pitch correcting classics from previous eras before auto tune was around. It's like a museum owner or director touching up and painting over Rembrandts, van Goghs, and other masterpieces to his liking or to make them more compatible with modern styles.
