I had a similar situations where I ended up getting a phone under someone else name and they got it turned off and because I didn't have their pin number I ended up losing a phone number that I had for almost 8 years along with all of my old contacts but I feel like I needed that because it taught me that its okay to let go and start new even when you don't want to
