He did not do the same for you when you were sick. I’m saying that to say this, him paying your bill was just another way to control you. You should have never allowed him to be able to control your lifeline. It probably would be helpful if you discuss this situation with your therapist so that she can help you to understand why you allowed him to keep that hold on you. I had a similar situations where I ended up getting a phone under someone else name and they got it turned off and because I didn't have their pin number I ended up losing a phone number that I had for almost 8 years along with all of my old contacts but I feel like I needed that because it taught me that its okay to let go and start new even when you don't want to

Or even trying to get in touch with some of your family members.. that's what happened to my sister ex when they broke up.
